I went into the store with my dog in a carrier and wanted to purchase a new one. When I was checking out, I was carrying my dog in my arms and I put the new bag on the counter and left my carrier on the floor. The cashier went around the register, picked up my bag from the floor, placed it on the counter, and looked through my bag WITHOUT consent. He asked, "is there anything inside?" And before I could respond, he was already looking through it. To his surprise, I wasn't stealing anything. I wouldn't have minded at all if he asked to take a look inside my bag, but he went all the way around and looked through it without permission which makes me upset. I understand stealing is very common but the employee should've expressed his concerns and asked for permission to search through my belongings. This happened on 3/17 around 4:00pm read more

On Feb 23rd we took our cat to this location for a bath and trim -- something we've done multiple times since he was a kitten. After being bathed and blow-dried, his groomer Monica noticed he was behaving erratically. His breathing had changed, he was struggling to stand, and his eyes didn't look right. Monica knew something was wrong, scooped him up and ran to the nearby Vet (which is fortunately in the same parking lot). At the Vet, they found him to be in heart failure. His lungs were full of fluid and he was in shock. Over the next couple of days, we'd learn that in his short 3 years of life he'd been suffering from a genetic heart disease that had been going untreated. He'd never shown us any reason to be concerned, and his regular check-ups didn't reveal anything worrisome. Had our cat gone into this shock at home or at some other grooming appointment somewhere else, we're confident he wouldn't be with us anymore. It was Monica's quick action that saved his life, without a doubt. Furthermore, the store manager Jordan paid for the diagnostics part of the vet bill without us even asking. We simply discovered it had been done. Our cat is now at home once again, sleeping in a cupboard (like he prefers), with a host of medications and new regimens we must abide by. But we prefer it to losing him altogether. You all are complaining about the quality of your dog's butthole shave job, but this groomer saved my cat's life. read more

I LOVE this specific PetSmart. It's a shame that it gets so many bad reviews. I do notice that it's mostly for grooming though, and we do our own grooming at home. Anyway, this PetSmart is our go-to for canvas toys and dental treats. These are two things that our Frenchie runs through like hotcakes, so we are frequent shoppers. The store is always organized and the staff is always a welcome fan of our dog. It's a great feeling for both us and our Frenchie. For Christmas, we always do the pictures with Santa--and it's FREE! This year our Frenchie was a little misbehaved and actually threw up and pooped in the room where the Santa pics were taking place. The staff there were very helpful and understanding with cleaning it up. It's gestures like these that will forever have my loyalty to this store. A1 experience, everything. This post relates to Stefani who had waited more than said time for her dog. I dropped my dog off at 1PM and they said it would 2-3 hours. So I go in at 4:30PM thinking maybe they forgot to call me. In the 3 hours my dog was there they had only gave him a bath. Then told me it would be another 45 minutes for the cut. As I write this review it has been more than 45 minutes and going on 5 hours. However I noticed other dogs that came in after my dog already getting haircuts. The employee used the excuse that my dog didn't like the blow dryer so they had to kennel dry him. When he loves the blow dryer and has never had problems ever with one. Fact is they had smaller dogs and chose to do them first while making my dog wait in a cage for 5 hours without water food or bathroom time. This is ridiculous business practice and model. read more

Hi everyone, I'm Kaylee. I am a groomer here at store 2475. While we truly love and care for our clients, I've been reading several reviews lately. I want to defend our salon and help clients understand the grooming industry from our perspective. Please understand that my goal is to inform pet parents; no one in particular is being singled out. We well comprehend how frustrating it can be to have trouble getting salon staff to return calls to schedule appointments or to have to cancel appointments at the last minute. As groomers here, we cherish our relationships with clients and adore caring for your furry friends. Life can happen, and we are all human beings just like you are. We experience illnesses and/or deal with personal issues that are not time- or date-bound. We always sincerely apologize and recognize that it could be challenging to reschedule because we are aware that the schedule fills up quickly. We are always working to find methods to accommodate you and get you in as soon as we can, but we are very limited with groomers and do have a couple with weight limitations. We have full books and ongoing waitlists. Recognize that different groomers work at various speeds and takes on a different number of dogs a day. Most groomers politely requests 3-4 hours because it is always the time allotted; nevertheless, some groomers may only need 2-3 hours, while others may need 3-4 hours. Some groomers are capable of taking 6-7 pets in a day, while others can only manage 4-5 pets. Bookings can be challenging especially for express services because they must be scheduled at specific times that do not conflict with other grooms so that we can work with your pet throughout the entire process. Express services are only scheduled by call-ins unless you prebook in person from your previous appt. Clients are allowed a 15 minute grace period; if you anticipate being more than 15 minutes late, you must call the salon to let them know and to find out whether the groomer will still be able to take you in. Being late can be critical to your groom and others. In 15+ minutes we can be finished preparing, washing, and drying your dog. Also keep in mind of the time taken for any dematting as they do take time to brush or shave out if the matting is tight, dematting does come with fees if it takes the groom extra time. As most groomers say 'HUMANITY VS VANITY'. If you have any plans during or right after the schedule check out groom, please let us know in advance and/or make an appointment in advance so we can set up a potential check-out time for your pet. Know that within our first and second half of our shifts -within four hours- we work on 2-3 dogs so please be curtious of the other dogs that are scheduled as well, as we do work on all 2-3 at once. We advise that all regular client prebook as soon as possible as our books can get filled. Teresa stated in one review, safety is our top priority. Please be aware that your dogs have good and bad days, and that we do everything we can to help them before deciding to send them home. We cannot rush or force our services as we know that rushing or forcing services on a difficult pet can result in incidents, which we strictly aim to prevent and we care about the well being of your pets. Grooms require patience and time. Lastly, we frequently adjust the timetable for lunch coverages due to our current staffing shortage, which also affects the floor associates. With the numerous clients and customers we receive in the salon and store, we at store 2475 are all doing our very best to accommodate everyone. We apologize for scheduling adjustments, canceling and rescheduling, and for having difficulty answering calls because we are all busy and doing the best we can with the time we have. This is a review for the PerSmart groomers on Ygnacio Valley Road. This was our puppy's first time (not a year old yet, and weighs 50 lbs) at the groomers and she was really nervous. Brianna seemed really knowledgeable and she was helpful. She suggested we get the Furminator wash and shampoo package ($60 - $10 first time customer), which includes 20 minutes of brushing, nail clipping, butt wash, body wash with non-shedding shampoo, and ear cleaning. We also got the $15 add-on package for grinding down nails so they're smoother, bandana, and teeth brushing. So, total of $75 ($65 for new customers) to have her washed and brushed to prevent shedding. Our pup was there for about two hours, and looked super cute and clean when we picked her up. Brianna suggests we play with our pup's paw so she gets used to it; so, next time it's easier to clip her nails. Yay- she looks and smells so good! read more

I had been taking my dogs for years to Clean Dogs, Healthy Dogs but since the business was sold the service changed in quality so we decided to give PetSmart a try as it is so close to us. Th groomer was Autumn who was impeccable with her work. I have two Malteses and realize that their hair is not easy to cut and groom. She did an incredible job and the dogs looked and smelled amazing. My older dog has awful smelly breath and thankfully even that was better. PetSmart offers what they call the works, which includes nail cutting, gland extraction, ear cleaning, tooth brushing and special shampoo and conditioner. Look great guarantee??? Hmmm. I think not! So I tried to work with the manager who wouldn't come to the phone when I called to discuss the horrible cuts my dogs received. After waiting on hold for 3 minutes and being transferred back to the floor, then being told I would be put through directly to the manager, I got one of the groomers making excuses and offering me a shampoo upgrade next time I came in. So here's what happened. I clearly told them not to cut the hair on their faces. It was already needing to grow in after a too short cut at another groomer last time. They cut it anyway. I told them to cut the body short with the mid range guide comb. When I got them back they were shaved everywhere! All the für on their legs was gone. The groomer was not the one I spoke to at drop off - the girl at the pick up (not the groomer) said yes, she noticed they had a "lamb cut" on their legs and wondered about the instructions. Wow, do you think you could have picked up the phone and called if you had a question before you shaved all their fur off. My one dog has zero fur on his backside. Poor dog it's getting cold and every time he sits now there is nothing but skin. Everyone makes mistakes but to be greeted with here is a shampoo upgrade after spending $150 on two terrible groomings - that is not good enough. Back to the search for a decent grooming job.
