I took my dog for a "pawdicure" today. ( nails, ears, a little perfume, bandana ) Nothing too extravagant. $22 for a few things, that wasn't too bad I thought. Not only did the groomer "Kelsi" ONLY cut my dogs nails ( for $22?? Seriously!?) She CUT HER NAIL TO THE QUICK and NEVER SAID A WORD ABOUT IT & my dogs paw started profusely bleeding. So my husband took our poor traumatized pup BACK inside to ask what in the heck happened and this woman says " oh, yeah, she kind of yanked her paw back so she got cut " UMM WHAT? You unprofessional little brat, you should have led with that! Needless to say, I WILL NEVER let anyone from this petsmart touch my dog again! If I could give negative stars, I would, and a LOT of them. I boarded my not-quite puppy at this store. My directions were not followed, and the staff was rude and unresponsive when I pointed this out. Your dog trainer in the Winchester VA PetSmart, Patricia, has no idea how to deal with customers to your establishment. I went there for a consultation and she acted like I was expecting her to train my dog in 15 minutes. I went there for advice and to possibly, schedule future training. She was very caustic and disrespectful. I never had a dog before. I got admonishment and put downs. During the appointment she tried to force my dog to do what he is not trained to do and admonished me for not knowing how to train him! This is exactly why I needed an Expert and why I went there! After my appointment at PetSmart I heard from two other people who have had awful experiences with her. One of those persons works at my Vet. If this is how she treats her customers, how does she treats the dogs she trains? read more

They have good products but my review is more for the grooming and the live crickets. The crickets are easy, they die. Quick. We use a cricket keeper and the food to give them they die much quicker than their competitors crickets. Now on to the grooming. My dog poops when they are nervous. I feel like that is a somewhat normal thing for dogs. My dog was not aggressive, didn't fight. But she did poop. I was told they would not see my dog again until she got "training". The main competition for petsmart which is right up the street, always grooms her. They are so sweet with her, never angry that she's nervous. For a place that should employ people who like animals, I was left embarrassed for my dogs normal behavior. Weird. read more

Went in there last night to exchange a toy we purchased two days before. The cashier was not very friendly and aeemes like we were taking up HER personal time. We finally got the refund and went back yo find another cat toy. After doing so, we got back in her line (because it was the ONLY line open). The lady in front of us had 3 cases of Fancy feast and 5 cases of treats. The lady with her was looking for a certain flavor. The cashier said, "we must not have any." The lady said, "you have to" and took off towards the back. The cashier just atood there. She didnt say, "doi you mind if i help the people that literally have two itena. Nor did ahe call for back up (until 5 minutes later....15 mins after this ordeal started). At least five minutes later, what appeared to be a manager FINALLY showed up and took us. He took the people behind us that also had 2 items. We were all checked out while the SLOWEST, MOST INCONSIDERATE CASHIER in America was still helping these people. Mind you she gave them the total and the customer paid before we switched lines. I like patronizing the stores, but i doi NOT enjoy spending an hour for sometging that should have taken 15 minutes total. Unfortunately, they do have a better selection, because their store has been there since 1999. Will be my last resort from here on out. read more

I took my shih Tzu to the PetSmart on Winchester/Hackscross Rd. to get groomed. These MF'ers called us within 6 mins saying we need to come and get our dog. I asked why and the person on the phone said they could not continue to groom him because he was being aggressive. I said "what do you mean you cant finished grooming him?" She said they started to groom him but cant because he keep biting at the groomer and the assistant and you need to come and get him. I told her my doggy better not be fracked up since they started cutting him and refuse to finish the cut. Never heard of such a damn thing anyplace else would have called me and suggested a shot they can give him. We've been into this PetSmart location several times for a variety of reasons, and their sales staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help, from the moment you walk in the door until the time that you leave. They work with local animal shelters to help pets find forever homes, so every Saturday from 11-5 there are dogs in the back of the store (though the shelter is frequently late bringing the dogs in), and there are cats nearly every day on the left side of the store in a room of their own. We just adopted our dog from their featured shelter, and the shelter staff and the PetSmart staff were incredibly helpful, offering personal advice tailored to our dog's developmental needs. They have the usual array of fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, etc - but no rabbits and they seem highly limited as to any more exotic pets; the focus seems to be primarily on accessories, gear, food, and toys. We did also purchase a betta, bowl, and accessories from this store, and the fish was and remains healthy and fishy. There is a rewards program that is free to sign up for and saves a lot of money on certain items: for example, last week they had Kong collars for $5 regardless of the retail price (which is much higher) and toys Buy 2 Get 1 free - to take advantage of the sales, you do have to be enrolled in their discount program (it's a quick signup and it's free if you don't mind having your data mined). read more

PetSmart - Pet Training Near Me - Winchester, Virginia

You need to educate the person scheduling appointments in your Winchester location (Legge Blvd) to advise people there is a 48 hour wait from when a pet is vaccinated before they can be groomed. They also did not advise of the upcharge for weekends and holidays (we have been coming here for four years, nobody ever mentioned this). I since had to come in with my dog, who was very nervous and be turned away and offered a $10 discount and waiving the "holiday fee" which nobody ever told us about. I will be scheduling an apt to take my dog somewhere else and your company will never see another dime out of me again. I will also tell everyone I know about this experience. read more

Been taking my beloved Siberian Husky here for a few years now, and have nothing but GLOWING things to say! The staff are knowledgable, professional, and take extra special care of my girl. And how my husky loves being pampered! When we arrive, I have to restrain her from pushing the gate open, as she can hardly wait to get her bath. Since she sheds a great deal, I always go with the Furminator, with extra brushing. When I arrive to pick her up, she's happy, and always looks (and smells) FABULOUS!! I had a very bad experience with the grooming department. The assistant manager was extremely rude to both me and my husband (my husband on the phone, and me when i came to pick up my dogs). I wont go into detail, as it is a very long story, but the man embarrassed me greatly in front of other customers, as well as his associates. He accused me of not caring for my animals the way a pet owner should, because of their tangled coat and grown out hair-- what he did not understand was that i had just inherited my dogs from an elderly family member who was too ill to care for them the way she wanted to. This was someone i was extremely close to, and i looked forward to giving the dogs the tlc they wanted and needed. My only visit this store will probably be my last. I'm struggling to find special cat food for my "elderly" cats and although I spent a long time in the cat food aisles I got no offers of help. There was a lot of noise coming from the rear of the store where obviously a truck was being unloaded. Finally someone that actually looked like the truck driver asked if I needed help. By then I was frustrated and had made a selection. When I checked out I explained to the lady behind the register that there was a special offer with one of my purchases, she acted like I'd spoken a foreign language and then proceeded to tell me that I must've missed it on the adjacent shelf and to go back and get it myself. Every single time I go there I have to run around the store looking for someone to help. When I do find someone, eventually, they're always condescending towards me, acting like I don't know how to take care of my animals. I try to be friendly but I hate coming in here. We have been taking our dog Anja to Petsmart for grooming since she was a little under a year old. She is a Rottweiler. Anja has NEVER had an issue getting a thing done. She has not been marked aggressive as it would say so in your records. She doesn't have one shred of aggressiveness in her. But I am not writing this review to defend my dog. I'm writing it so you can handle your prejudices against bigger breeds. Today I had my boyfriend take her to you just for her nail trimming. Bryan gives her over to the lady. Says she does better when we aren't here. Like we always do. He steps outside and comes back to check on her a few minutes later. At this time Anja is strung up by her collar feet barley reaching the table, muzzled, and tied up by her tail. Bryan says get my dog off that table now! Anja comes running to him with the muzzle still on. He takes it off and throws it across the counter. The lady said she was "extremely aggressive trying to bite her." Lady I don't know you from Eve, but I do know my dog. And I am FURIOUS that this Petsmart or any human being for that matter could traumatize my dog in such a way. I will be calling the corporate office and I will be pulling this young lady get out of this field of work. No one has the right to do what they did to my dog or another for that matter.
