Besides our food taking longer for lunchtime, all sandwiches we ordered were delicious. I ordered a reuben sandwich and it had a perfect ratio of all the ingredients, they also swapped rye bread for sourdough- definitely a great recommendation. Atmosphere is very family oriented and there is a lot of returning customers, so service can be little slower. Overall tasty work lunch, definitely worth the wait. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that.

I had no idea that I never submitted a review for Petty's. I have been coming here since I first moved to Florida in 1992. We lived in Sabal Point in Longwood, right "around the corner " from Petty's. Back then the manager at the time, Jose, used to make sangria on the weekend during the summer. Folks lined up to buy jugs of that nectar to accompany the delicacies purchased in the grocery. Ah the delicacies. Everything here is fresh and wonderful. Deli selections for every taste. Fresh veggies. An impressive cheese selection. Sauces and seasonings galore. Desserts and treats to satisfy the most discerning sweet tooth. A wine selection that is very extensive and eclectic. They often do wine tastings (had one yesterday). And then there's the meats. Wagyu beef. Prime cuts. Aged cuts. Chicken, beef and pork creations to make gourmet meals a breeze (and delicious!). I grabbed a couple prime N.Y. strips on this visit, along with a fresh baguette and some curry chicken salad. The staff are all consistently helpful, happy and enthusiastic. Go to Petty's Meat Market once and you will return again as often as you can. Don't miss the free draft beer while you shop. Two cups per customer on the honor system! I do not live "around the corner" any longer, but I make my way back to Petty's whenever I can.

    Chicken mango curry (the best)

Have been going to Pettys for years, and this place never disappoints! Not only does it have some of our favorite cuts of meat (hangar and picanha) but their sides and garlic bread win me over every time! Holy cow, if you haven't tried the chicken mango curry (I feel sorry for you cause you're missing out), any of their pasta salads (but the parm shells are my fav), the Brussels are incredible. IF you leave without getting garlic bread, head back in there and get 4 (you won't regret it). The only downfall to this beautiful local meat market is that they are closed on Sundays

The selection of beef cuts are over the top!!! If your cut is out at the counter, they will go to the back and butcher more for you.

Incredibly disappointed in the TLB. I've been a fan for a long time, especially their dry aged…read moremeats, and am more than willing to pay for this type of product. Today, though, I noticed them selling Japanese Wagyu as: Sake Infused Dry Aged A9 Kobe Strip. This is a very scammy way of selling a product. First, meat is graded broadly on three scales - USDA (choice, prime), BMS (beef marbling scale - common in Aus), and the Japanese grading scale. (A1-A5, with most high end steaks being A4 or the gold standard, A5). https://meatnbone.com/blogs/the-clever-cleaver/meat-beef-grading-system-understanding A9 doesn't exist. A BMS 9 could be an A5. But this is mislabeled. They have also used the term A11 in their instagram account. Maybe they are confusing BMS for A-scale, or maybe they are intentionally trying to make their product seem better than competitors. Furthermore, not all Japanese Wagyu is Kobe beef. Kobe beef refers to Tajima cattle raised in Hyogo Japan. The export of this beef is highly regulated to only certain restaurants and purveyors, who will display a seal and certificate certifying the origin of the beef. It is rare, expensive, and most importantly, Bush Brothers (Local Butcher's wholesale purveyor) is not certified to sell, nor do they use in any way, the term Kobe Beef. So it is incredibly likely that this product is mislabeled. This isn't illegal (Kobe beef doesn't have a TM in the US), but it is disingenuous. https://www.kobe-niku.jp/en/contents/certification/index.html https://instagram.com/bushbros Next, "sake infused"is incredibly confusing. Is it referring to the myth that Kobe cattle are massaged with sake? Is it referred to the use of koji (fermented cooked rice) which is often used as an aging accelerant? Or did they really take Japanese Wagyu and infuse (inject, soak?) with sake? And why on earth would you do that!? It would be like making sangria with a bottle of DRC. This product is likely a A5 strip loin (which Bush Bros. does carry) that has been aged. Market price would be somewhere around $175-185/lb. (An unaged cut would be around $150/lb.) When I asked for more information on the most expensive cut of meat in their shop, I was treated with disdain and a dismissive attitude. Neither member of the staff could answer my questions other than to say "It's the highest grade of Kobe beef." To charge $215 dollars for a grade that doesn't exist, for a steak that isn't from Kobe, with an aging method that seems dubious at best, is disingenuous and plays on a lack of consumer knowledge. If The Local Butcher themselves don't know the differences here, they shouldn't sell this product. If they do, they should be ashamed of themselves.

I ended up having a little cheat day and enjoyed a delicious soft serve with fresh strawberries -- it was so good! The staff members were very friendly, especially the cashier who helped me at the register. Her smile felt so genuine, and it honestly made me want to come back again. I even decided to pick up some peanut butter while I was there. The store was very clean and well organized, which made shopping comfortable and enjoyable. I shop at other grocery stores too, but this place is definitely becoming one of my favorites. You can also bring your own reusable bags, which is a nice bonus. The parking lot can be a little difficult on weekends, but overall I highly recommend this place!

I live about two…read morehours away, and whenever I'm in Orlando I usually get sucked into the whole Disney Springs vibe and never make it to all the other amazing local businesses. This trip, though, there was absolutely no Disney involved -- and we finally stopped here on our way home Sunday morning. I feel like you know you're getting older when you get excited about grocery shopping. Normally when I go to Publix, I'm irritated before I even get inside. But this place? A completely different experience. Walking through and seeing all the locally grown vegetables and the meat selection -- clearly labeled as hormone-free and without all the extra junk you get at typical grocery stores -- was honestly mind-blowing. The prices were so reasonable I couldn't believe it. I purposely brought a cooler for the two-hour drive home, and even with everything I bought, I didn't spend over $100. If I had purchased the same items at Publix, I'm convinced I would've been close to (or over) $200. Beyond the prices, the quality and overall vibe made it so enjoyable. You're not breaking the bank feeding your family, and you feel good knowing you're getting better-quality food. The staff was incredibly sweet and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. I was looking for boneless chicken, and one of the employees asked if that's what I needed. A few minutes later, he came back with multiple packs in his hands to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and I really appreciated it. One thing to know: the produce and meat sections are in two separate, unconnected rooms, so you check out separately in each. And if you're still riding that high from all the money you saved, there's soft-serve ice cream outside with seating -- which just makes the experience even better. For someone who truly despises grocery shopping, this was actually fun. I will absolutely make a special trip to Orlando just to come back here -- and next time, I'm bringing a bigger cooler.
