I've been to their store in Longwood so long would anyone doubt that I'm Duke? Rhetorical question, that. Yet I didn't know they had this OTHER store! For sure, Longwood is much closer to where I live, but this could be more convenient because it is on my way to Costco in Altamonte Springs. It is a much bigger store, offering a lot more choices in terms of variety - the other store hardly has any meats, for instance. And if you're a carnivore after a good bargain, this may be your ticket. Cuts like beef shank, or meats like chicken liver... they're a lot more expensive elsewhere, if available at all. Again you have to know your prices: e.g., flank is a bargain here ($4.50/lb, cf $7.99 at Costco these days); but skirt steak, practically the same cut, only tougher, is close to $8 and about the same as elsewhere. On the minus side, produce is generally less well managed here, with more bruises and wilting leaves. AND they are more expensive than the one in Longwood, which boggles the mind. It also suffers from an outrageously aggressive AC system or setting. Bring a sweater on any given day or risk catching pneumonia while shopping. All these factors may contribute to less traffic here than the Longwood location, even though this one is 5 times bigger. They have a little bake shop adjacent - but I haven't tried anything from it yet. I was going to be a little harsh and give 'only' two-point-five, but I'll round it up to a sweet tres on account of the variety and generally acceptable quality of some of the meats.

Hopefully the birds will enjoy what I could not

I don't remember asking for hair in my empanadas. Enough reason to never return. Plus she would not let me buy one of the empanadas that was in the display case. Why? Also don't like when someone doesn't acknowledge you because they're on their phone and they make you wait till they're finished

    How Fancy is your Fruit?

Fancy Fruit, for me, is an incredible trip down a Latino culinary memory lane. Every item I grew up eating was in stock. Galletas, Malta, every manner of cheese and vegetable and seasoning. It was almost overwhelming, but the space itself is perfect for lazy weekend shopping for everything from melons, lemons, and avocado to frozen White Castle burgers, seafood and flan. Not the massive selection you get at Publix, but you don't really expect that at Fancy Fruit. The small check-out space has to move quickly to accommodate the many customers, similar to Aldi. The bakery items at the front look delicious - guava and cheese cakes, what! - and there's a whole bakery to select warm yucca and ground beef and more cakes from. And let's not forget the Cuban bread display right at the front door. Me gusta how Fancy Fruit rolls. I will be a regular there; I see this happening very soon.

This is probably my favorite location of this produce chain. The store is huge (compared to the others) with such a great variety. I was really surprised to see they had real sugar cane. Seeing (frozen) jocote there brought a smile to my husband's face. Lots of choices including meat, dairy, canned goods, and fresh baked goods/bread. We said we want to try all the desserts so we'll definitely be going back. There's a selection of Latin and Asian products, also. Plenty of drink choices: tea, coffee, coconut water...etc. Tonight we bought a caldero set for $21.99 and can't wait to use them. Prices are great. My husband was even impressed that he now will go out of his way to go this store. He even offered to get up early to make a run for the Cuban bread as part of our Sunday breakfast. Yum!

This is the best place to get all of the ingredients for our favorite food!!! Mexican!!! Cojita cheese was never available for quite some time, but I could always find it here. The variety of ALL veggies vine or root is huge!! Fresh yucca...yum!!! They even are getting more organic, which I believe in!!! (Hint hint, you should, too) Now,on to the meat... GREAT CHOICES!! Soon I will be making my own ground meats, but until then..I get it here. So, just so you know, it's not only Hispanic food...I see a lot of Asian and Italian in the store.. except for the bakery!!!! Yep.... I said bakery!! Quesitos, Guava pastries just to name a few..they also have empanadas and corn cakes!! (Areapas!!!). So...you see all of my!!!!!!s and I suppose by now, you are looking at my missing star....yep.. I had to hold back a star for the staff... I hate to think it's because this gringa is blonde..but truly can't help it. Regardless.. it's not stopping me from going, nor trying to use my broken Spanish to say hi and thank you. I support local and I really do love this place.

I shop in fancy fruits all over Orlando and this fancy fruit is one of the worse grocery stores in terms of service and hospitality.

The fruits and meat are always fresh and the prices are much lower than Publix or Winn Dixie.

There is a mix of food and beverage, vendors, arts, benders health and wellness vendors. Would I really like is how friendly a lot of the vendors are. And that they work together. For example, hoots and Mary bread actually promotes the Sanford cheese stand. And vice versa. While this farmers market is very small, it still provides for the things that I could use at home. They do have a vegetable and fruit spender that has reasonably priced vegetables such as $5, a bowl for potatoes, the tomatillas, onions, squashes, and so much other things. Amount of samples for the fruit so you can try before you buy. They've got a plethora of Chili's to spice up your food. Plus this farmers market is inside of a park next to the fire station and across the street from the police station. So I've never felt more safe going to a farmers market in my life. Definitely one of the farmers markets. I'll be venturing to more frequently.

It's a little pricey, but the produce is all local, so the slight price difference is for a good cause! The cashier was friendly and made pleasant conversation about the products. I can see the appeal of this spot!

With that said, here goes my experience..... My mum had been telling me about a "secret vegetarian" restaurant located within the grounds of this Religious Organization near Costco, and so decided to go check out. Unfortunately I should have paid attention to the timings as the restaurant was closed, but there was a grocery store there with a packet of chips/ crisps (a massive weakness!) that I hadn't seen before and so decided to buy them. When I opened the packet up on the drive back home, discovered they tasted massively stale even tho' the date stamped on the packet was still valid!!! We should have turned around and gone back to return them, but they were already shutting down when we left - so I was left with a rotten taste in my mouth (literary spat out those chips, they tasted so stale!) and $1.50 just wasted, My confidence level in checking out the food now is a little bit less, despite how lovely the staff were. Not sure if will be back.... Yelp 151/2017
