they are VERY transparent about pricing, which i love. I told the vet tech as soon as we walked in that we only had $200 and she gave me an itemized rundown of what everything would cost us! We rescued a kitty in july and couldn't get in with a vet in the area for several months. When my boy was throwing up all of his food I knew we had to get him somewhere, that's when a vet near us recommended PetWell. At first I was skeptical because usually these "urgent care" places for pets don't actually do anything, they just send you to an emergency vet and charge you for the exam anyways, but PetWell is great! The vet recommended a slow feeder for our boy and gave us the option of putting him on anti-nausea medication. I opted for the slow feeder option and he is doing great! Our boy also got a shot that he needed and we left happy, healthy, and we still had a bit of money in our pockets. It was $107 total for his exam and his shot, which is very reasonable in my opinion. We went on a Friday morning, so we only had to wait about an hour for the 3 people ahead of us to be done. When my kitten got worms they were very loving towards him even though he gave them a hard time getting his shots. Overall, the vet techs and the vet herself are very kind and treated my kitties and me with respect. Love this place.

I found out about PetWell just from driving by so I decided to take my cat to them since they only do walk-ins.

We saw the "traveling vet" on Saturday for a routine exam and his yearly vaccines and left with three prescriptions that weren't clearly explained and a referral for a very aggressive surgery. Naturally, I had a few questions afterward, so I called Monday morning about possible medication side effects. Instead of answering the question, I was invited back in for another appointment with the regular vet. My 5:15 appointment included a relaxing 10 minutes in the lobby followed by 40 minutes in an exam room with an increasingly restless dog. Just when I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere, the doctor suddenly became available. Incredible timing. After the exam we discovered that 2 of the 3 prescriptions from Saturday were no longer necessary and we switched to a different medication entirely. Unfortunately the medications from two days earlier were non-refundable... but the new visit was going to be another $20, which felt like a nice bonus. The real highlight came at checkout when another customer decided to loudly lecture me about how rude and entitled I was while waiting with her cat. Despite asking her multiple times to leave me alone, the front desk staff chose the bold customer service strategy of watching silently while two clients argued in the lobby. Between the long waits, the surprise medication changes, and the unexpected lobby entertainment, this visit was definitely memorable. Winston and I will be exploring other veterinary options, but I do appreciate the unique experience.

I did the meds and brought her back next day, I was told her blood work was totally normal besides slightly high globulin indicating inflammation. continued to get worse through Saturday with being hot to the touch, runny eyes, sneezing and open mouth breathing. Brought her to another vet today and was told they would have been concerned with the 103.5 temp which is now 104.8, her liver labs show signs of fatty liver which was not caught by moon. Moon vet is very dismissive and unconcerned with finding answers or helping a clearly sick animal. would not recommend bringing your pet here.

I would prefer that this animal hospital have more evening and weekend hours, but we did get evening or Friday appointments that worked for us. For both appointments, the front staff quickly checked us in, and we used the separate waiting area for cats. The vet techs started our appointments on time. I appreciated that they had familiarized themselves with my cat's previous medical records. For the first appointment, the veterinarian arrived several minutes late, but she was very knowledgeable and nice (even after my cat when being palpated peed on the table!). She did a physical exam on Nika, and we discussed Nika's history of kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, anemia, and UTIs. The vet said that many kidney-disease cats need longer than 2 weeks of antibiotics, which is true and something that my previous veterinarians never said. She recommended a supplement to prevent UTIs. Later, another veterinarian here promptly ordered a refill for a thyroid medication for Nika. Employees at the front desk promptly rang up the fees for the exam, supplement, blood tests, and fecal test. I thought that the prices were OK. A few days later, Dr. Santabene called me about the test results. We spoke for about 16 minutes, and she communicated very thoroughly and politely. Nika's kidney labs were much worse than before, so we increased her lactated ringers (LR) and added a phosphate binder that was ready for pickup hours later. For my upcoming international vacation, Dr. Santabene was still willing to keep Nika at VCA Wexford's pet hotel where the vet techs would administer 100 mLs of lactated ringers on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and 150 mLs on Mondays and Fridays (because vet techs do not work on weekends). The employees at the pet hotel took a while to tell me accurate prices, but the final estimate was $1,324.30 - $1,374.30 (which included $344 for 10 fluid therapies, $86 for 10 biohazard waste disposals, $244 for 10 technician office visits, and $650-700 for 13-14 nights in a nice-looking feline boarding condo). However, days later Nika began to show serious symptoms, so I had her euthanized by a different veterinarian. Weeks later Dr. Santabene mailed a handwritten sympathy card to me. For my next pet who has a medical diagnosis, I will probably bring her/him here, because I think that Dr. Santabene has knowledge and empathy that many other vets lack.

They are empathetic when necessary starting with the front desk when you walk in. Dr. Dymun and her tech Jessica are both very good listeners. They ask owners lots of questions to help with a diagnosis. My dog gets a more thorough exam than I do at my doctor-(I'm not complaining as I really hate going to the doctor). Dr. Dymun emailed me several times to check on my pet's progress and offered suggestions to aid her recovery. It was easy to schedule an appointment and I can't complain about fees as I feel my pet received extraordinary care.

They were gentle, trimmed her nails, cleaned her poor ears, the medicine from what I googled actually was a very good price for its formula, and it took care of the ear issue quick! I think I'd prefer my cat being comfortable and treated gentle and deal with some wait time rather than the other options. They also have an option where you can wait in the car and they can buzz you when you're ready because of animals anxiety. Which I LOVED! I am not fully understanding these negative reviews- I guess in my eyes if a doctor/vet is running over, that means they take their time and really access and explain everything! I also had front office on the phone for 20 minutes explaining everything and they answered my many calls with my silly questions. They're just Pittsburgh, straight to the point (I'm not from here, so to me being blunt is just the Pittsburgh of it all!) they just are honest with what you ask and when they are busy, at least they actually put you on hold and don't decline your call completely! I know to some that sounds ridiculous to say, but I work front desk, and many locations will just make you call over and over! (Not mine, but many will). Anyway, I just wanted to make this because this will definitely be the place my lovely lady goes, and likely my mom is bringing our two dogs too when needed!
