Price on one board foot depends on thickness. 4/4 (1 inch) takes less time to dry than 8/4 (2 inch), so one board foot of 8/4 costs more than the same volume of 4/4. 4/4 cherry runs around $5 a board foot; most surfaced (smooth) lumber from the region will be between $2 to $10/bf.
