I keep a spreadsheet with the details of each time I paint something, including the paint formula code and the base paint code. That is the key! I walked in with that info and they quickly mixed me a can and I was on my way in 15 or 20 minutes. This particular location has cramped parking right in front of the building, but somehow I've always been able to get a spot. I've used a number of brands over the years, and I've settled on using PPG exclusively for my interior house painting. I just like it! It goes on easy, it dries well and looks great. And these PPG Paints stores, some of which used to be Masterwork-Sternberger stores, have always been very helpful and knowledgeable.

Plaster, cinder block, wood, inside, outside, primed, not primed, previous color and on and on... until they are satisfied that you're getting exactly the right concoction to make your project happy! Beware, though: Sherwin-Williams is great paint, but expensive. However, they do offer several sales a year with a significant reductions. They also offer savings if you have an account - which need never carry a balance. And what is better than selecting the perfect paint-chip and staring at it on your wall while you wait for the Next Great Sale to come along?
