I just…read moremoved my elderly father out of his house and found that there was a leak from the shower into an adjacent closet. Called a plumber, got it "fixed", and figured it needed to dry out before repairs to the wall and baseboards could be done. Flew home to California and called Scott a week later. He went over, checked it out and gave me a quote. While he was there he noted some water damage in the ceiling and offered to fix that too. This was new, so he took photos for me and investigated to see if it was still wet, but he took it another step- he looked into the attic and identified the issue-the AC. He also pointed out that the shower still leaked if you sprayed water on the valve. I called the AC repairman in and called the plumber back again, who both thought they fixed it. Scott went back and said no way, they didn't fix it. He even met with our insurance adjuster and gave him his proposal to fix the drywall once the repairs were made. Poor guy went back to that house so many times to start work only to find the leaks still going. He wouldn't let the other contractors get away with shoddy work and he sent me photos and explained things clearly to me. When everything was finally fixed a few weeks later he got the insulation, drywall and baseboard replaced, textured, and painted and sent pictures. He even cleaned up and put in a clean air filter for us. This guy is GOLD. I feel so lucky to have had him on my team.i was definitely a tough client but he remained professional throughout and advocated for us to get the best outcome.

shame shame shame! hcarrs "mr handyman" a neighborly company listed with neighborly business has…read moreprovided several services including a lanai intallation adding an A frame over a 3 window area and increasing the size of the carport poles in the carport area as well as landscaping. The first project "lanai" was o.k. but still have problems with door closing as we as charging me an additional 2K for "I' don't know what since it was not on any invoice plus charging 390.00 for recalking approx. 12 holes. this was screw holes from the previous screened in area. landscaping photos that were to be followed for installation were never followed and they did whatever they wanted in the installation. we were not there however partner advised us that he had a landscape degree. impossible since the installaton was not at all what we wanted including very very poor preparation prior to installation. no weed mat no noting. photos displayed having a small stone stream along the side plants and shrubbery. NEVER HAPPENED. Also, half the minimum description on the job order were not even installed. We were advised that that never happened because it "cost too much" for those items. damage was done to the sprinkler system they were working on of billing of over $700.00 which again was costly to the homeowner. they just did whatever they wanted. We were advised that that was because they could not install what we wanted at $9200.00 after the fact in court. Labor costs were charged for an employee that was not there for the day charges were placed hand written on the invoices after the amounts and costs were approved and signed off on by the homeowner. were demanded for non receipted items that were not on any of the receipts for service. Had to hire other contractors to correct work since nothing was installed correctly and had to be redone with croocketed walkways improperly installed. These people are thieves but the courts awared them another 5200 for labor that was not paid supposedly however, no considration nor deduction was made from the credit tha was on the account prior. Note there was "no meeting of the minds" complete breach and yet here we are being rewared for such performance. I am hoping writing this review someone will take the time to have a further consideration allowing these guys to work under any name. These jobs were over $17k.

Our experience having him and his company repair and paint our home was absolutely awful and made a big headache even BIGGER - and at a time when we were all already going through so much with hurricane Ian. Drywall not repaired properly, with obvious major imperfections in big areas where the drywall was replaced/patched/painted. Instructed to match existing paint on walls, doors and trim, that wasn't done and the new color is horrid. Quality VERY low - paint drips and overlaps everywhere, hardware painted over. Major paint cracks only a couple of months after painting. Electrical outlets were not moved properly, nor were the holes cut properly leaving gaps around the outlet covers, etc. These are not your standard punch-list items, this is extremely sloppy work, which was also reconfirmed by two other contractors which we had to hire to redo EVERYTHING. Gives initial quotes and horribly overcharges any changes, goes and does the work WITHOUT telling us additional cost. (not or primary residence). Attempts to gaslight us and blames others for work his crew completed - Either doesn't know the scope, or blames others, we do not know. All this work was also grossly overpriced ESPECIALLY for the quality. Timelines promised and not completed for MONTHS. To make matters worse, NEVER answers the phone call and never responds to texts when asked about progress and confront him with issues! Run far from them!
