I can't believe this place hasn't received more reviews. I'm no fish-and-chip connoisseur, but to my mind, the fish is always perfectly done, crisp batter and soft flaky fillet, and the chips are large and firm and 'hedonistic', so to speak.
The servings are massive, far larger than at any other takeaway in the area. My parents and I order fish-and-chips for dinner a couple of times a month and drive down the road to eat at the beach. For a trio of waifs, 2 servings of fish and chips are plenty sufficient for the three of us.
The owners don't speak much English but they're always very polite and friendly. Occasionally it gets busy on say a Friday evening, and the seating arrangements aren't great -- they could provide a few more chairs/tables for busy times. But ultimately I'm there for the deep-fried deliciousness, and I can't fault PG's on that front. read more
