If you know Vietnamese people, you know that they have to find a Vietnamese place to eat at wherever they go. So, when we had a family event in Buffalo, I turned to Pham's Kitchen. I called to tell the restaurant that we were going to have 30 people come in on a random weekday, and they were able to loop off an area for our party without an issue. The owner was very friendly and gave tips on the area as well as general, very appreciated life advice. Appetizers: we got eggrolls and garlic noodles for everyone. Solid egg rolls, and my partner liked the garlic noodles so much that he looked up how to recreate the recipe at home. It's definitely not something you see on a lot of Vietnamese menus, but it's such a unique, Vietnamese-American creation that I'm glad we were able to try it out here! Main course: I got a banh mi xiu mai, because that's something that's almost impossible to find on the east coast, and it was done exceptionally well. The bread (which I was told they bake fresh in-house!) was light and airy on the inside with a thin crispy crust on the outside. I also got an avocado smoothie, which was not too sweet-- everyone saw me get one, taste-tested it, and proceeded to order one as well LOL. Between the 30 of us, we essentially got everything on the menu, and everyone was pleased with their food. I got a lot of comments saying, "This is the best Vietnamese food I've had outside of California," and if you're in the know, you know that's a crazy high compliment! I wish I took pictures of the food, but we were too busy eating and socializing--which is a sign of good food I guess! Would definitely come back if I'm ever craving Viet food and am in the area. read more

Got the house special bahn mi for lunch and it was really good. The flavor mixed well together and the homemade pate was pretty good. They give a good amount of pickled radish which I appreciate and the service was fast. Would come again for their bahn mi which are also so affordable. read more

12/04/2025 update: We returned for another lunch to try the banh mi, and it was all superlatives! We were especially happy to have been recognized by the owners: It's been a few months since our last visit. You know you're in the right place for great Vietnamese food when the parking lot is packed at lunch, and the patrons include a Buddhist monk and Muy Thai practitioners. What do I find charming about this place? Firstly, it's the best baguette I've ever had. (For reference, I spent three years in a former French colony in Africa). The char sui option reminded me of Hong Kong night markets! The unctuous pork BBQ was nicely offset by crunchy cucumber slices and cilantro leaves. So good! The spring rolls were nicely balanced flavors and textures, and the peanut dipping sauce was excellent. The combo beef pho was as great as I remembered: An enormous bowl of noodles, meatballs, and steak, flavored with anise, lemongrass, and chives. Now that we've got low winter skies over Buffalo, I really appreciate all the large live plants in the dining room! read more

Hands down the best pho I have ever had. I'm usually a ramen girl when it comes to noodle soup dishes but the broth of their pho converted me. Plus the portion was huge, I ended up having it for 3 meals. My husband absolutely loved his bahn mi with the bbq pork. We also got the crab ragoons which made me cry a little when they came out with 5 tiny pieces for $8 but once I bit into it and realized there was REAL CRAB, the price made sense. Wow! We had heard about this place from another restaurant because of their outstanding bread. We came hungry were not disappointed. We stopped by on a Tuesday evening at dinner time and it was busy, a great sign. We wanted to try a little of everything so we got pho, vermicelli bowl with shrimp and pork, a bahn-mi and 2 rice paper rolls- the shrimp and pork and the lemongrass beef. We ordered and found a table. The food came out quickly and we devoured it. First of all, I have to say the staff were very kind and patient with my food allergies. I was so happy I could enjoy a meal here after knowing the rice products were ok for me. Once we got our food, it was hot, fresh and flavorful. I ordered the #1 sandwich which was a mix mosh of cold cut meats. It was really good and pretty on par with the sandwiches I've had in NYC. It was decently sized and reasonably priced. Great food! We shared the five spice chicken and shrimp dinner which comes with rice over shredded carrots and cucumbers. Just my suggestion would be a little more training for two younger girls at the register. They were still helpful. Also the bathroom seems to be an issue with plumbing or sewer system. I was introduced to Pham's at an elite event in 2024. We had several samples of their tasty Vietnamese food. I also ordered a bowl of pho as I wanted to try that, and I was impressed with the flavor. I returned last week to get a bowl of beef pho, and I was not disappointed. The restaurant is bright and clean. The servers are friendly and helpful. You place your order at the counter and they bring it to your table when it's ready. It is accompanied by some extras like jalapeno slices and what I believe are bean sprouts that you can add if desired. There are also bottles of siracha and hoisin sauce on the table. I am not good with chopsticks, but there were also soup spoons and forks on the table. The bowl is huge. It is a full meal in itself. The pho was hot and delicious; a great treat on a cold winter's day. I am looking forward to my next visit. They have 9 different Bánh Mi, we picked the Char Sui. (it was not mentioned on the menu, but I think it was pork). The baguette was nicely filled with seasoned pork, veggies and fresh jalapeños. Also a great sauce with a really nice kick to it. The Phó comes in a big bowl filled with bouillon, chicken (veggies or beef are other choices) and plenty of noodles. It comes with a little plate with bean sprouts, jalapeños and mint leaves to add to the Pho. It was really good. The service was very attentive and we were really surprised when the (I think) owner stopped by. Not just for the "how is your meal?", but after we mentioned we had some trouble eating the long noodles, she explained that we have to try chop sticks. Just like the Vietnamese do! Look, I realize that I get the same thing at a lot of places I go. I have said before, I am a creature of habit and I eat what I know I like. Sometimes I get a little adventurous and change it up but this time, I kept with my favorite order from here. It's a Bahn Mi and a juice tea with tapioca. The Bahn Mi was incredible as always. I love the bread and the lemongrass beef is so flavorful and tasty. When I couldn't figure out which flavor of tea to get, they came up with a combination of the juice that tasted PHENOMENAL! As always, the service here is quick, friendly, and they really put a lot of care and attention into every order. You can tell whether you get it to eat there or to go, they make sure everything is prepared perfectly. There is a very peaceful vibe here and plenty of seating to dine in. Since our go to pho joint closed on South Park in Lackawanna, we had to try a new place! Well, this was an excellent choice! We had the sirloin steak pho, it was very good, huge bowl, enough for two meals. The menu on the wall was not huge but gave the fast food feel and it was not fast food at all. Was not an outrageous wait. The anticipation of the soup was the hard part, lol! And was well worth the wait. Awesome bowl of yumminess, just to put your face over the bowl and inhale was incredible. The staff was nice and professional taking our orders. There is a water station you can help yourself to along with coffee, tea, and smoothies on their menu. I ordered the Char siu Banh Mi, and my dining mates ordered a Vermicelli bowl and a rice bowl.
