Stopped here for dinner and had thé Pad Kra Prow (Thai Basil Chicken). They serve it Thai street style with the fried egg and minced meat. The flavor of the stir fry was spectacular and the veggies done just right. Since I've had the pad Thai (it has become my favorite), pad see ew, drunken noodles and curry all of which have been excellent. I should mention the shrimp here is the best I've seen at any Asian restaurant in town. The service is always spot on here. No matter what time of day, they take care of you when you show up. I also had the Thai tea which is the best in town with boba. It's a small business and the space is very intimate but absolutely worth a visit. They also have takeout which is also excellent. It seems that most Thai restaurants are family owned and operated and we have had good luck with most of them. With the Aung family we found a gem. This is a small place with just several tables and we were the only ones there. At first we thought that was a bad sign but we were surprised with some of the best food and friendly service ever. The Tom Yum soup and curry were fantastic, fresh and delicious. I would feel confident in the entire menu and they of course do take out as well. This place is on another level with flavors. Even their wonton soup is packed with layers of complexity. Not many places put time and effort into their broth like Aung Family. Up and down the menu there are dishes to behold. The Aung Family Special is the most unique dish I've tasted and at a level 3 heat I was able to enjoy it without tapping out. On this visit however I went back to the Pad Priew Wan (pictured), which is a sweet and spicy dish. I opted for the chicken but it can be served with just veggies or another protein. I went way out of my way to have lunch at Aung Family Restaurant because of the "family restaurant" and the good reviews. It's easy to miss, located on the right hand side of a nondescript cinder block shopping center devoted to Asian foods. They seemed almost surprised as I entered - it was very quiet. The menu was great, with many diverse options but not overwhelming. I ordered the vegetables with Aung Sauce. I asked them to add a little tofu, which they did with no extra charge. I also ordered the spring rolls. Those came with a couple of crab Rangoon. Portion sizes were not plentiful but flavors were. Aung sauce is pungent, spicy and salty..potentially addictive. I believe that everything, including dipping sauces, is made from scratch. This is the kind of business everyone should support. Their phone should be ringing and they should have a steady crowd. From multiple visits i have tried the tom yum, won-ton soup, coconut soup, crispy tofu, peanut king, stir fried flat noodle, bean curd skin rolls and veg dumplings. some notes: veg dumpling nothing special but served with some sort of spicy paste that was very good; fired tofu was CRISPY and delicious, bean curd rolls were mild tasting (read: not fishy) and also very good. the peanut king was good but more of just a regular stir-fry and less mushroomy than i was expecting. overall great place and you can also order directly via their website. read more

Just because some of the names of the dishes look familiar doesn't mean they are the same. For instance, the Crab Rangoon has REAL crab in it!
