I went there 2 days ago for a dip and eyebrow wax and tint. The color I chose from the color wheel was NOT the color he started to use. I told him after one nail and there was a debate as to who was correct for a while until another technician got involved and agreed with me. Turned out the color I wanted was unavailable so ended up with one I really don't like. (Peach rather than champagne). That was followed by the eyebrow wax, which seemed normal enough, and the tint, which was painless, but the "eyecream" (she said was aloe) burned badly and I told her so immediately. The lids of my eyes seem to have a chemical burn. See attached. The left is much worse than the right, even going into the corner of my eye versus just above the eye. I would not recommend getting your brows done there unless they change the "aloe" or whatever it was they used and you will need to be flexible about the nail color choices as well as pay attention to what the dip looks like as they are applying it! read more

Seriously I should of listened to some of the reviews before I came here , but I thought I'd give it a shot. Worst mistake!!!! Literally !!! The shape of my nails are HORRIBLE!!! I mean they aren't even EVEN!! Some short , some long ugh. I wanted LONG nails and they turned out SHORT AS HELL. I've never been so disappointed about my nails, & I've been getting my nails done for YEARS!! I told the man that I was not happy with them at all, that I honestly wanted him to just take them all off at that point. He was nice enough to give me a $10 discount but it still doesn't cut it. My polish on my toes are all screwed up already!!! I'm just aggravated with wasting $50 on something IM NOT HAPPY WITH. Me & my sister in law won't be returning. My manicurest also did a foot scrub massage while my previous gel mani was being soaked for removal. I give it 5 stars for the friendly, clean, and professional service. Tried once and never going back. Shotty job. They lack in training. My nails were left uneven and lasted only about a week - mind you my dip typically lasts 4 weeks. What's more is that they are disrespectful to paying customers. I witnessed a worker publicly humiliate a customer. Would not recommend. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I have been getting my nails done professionally for over 30 years at a variety of nail salons throughout the country. I have NEVER experienced the service I received from Vicky, owner and operator at Phan Nail Salon. I went to this salon on 4/15/19 and clearly requested the following: *Color change on hands using no chip polish *Pedicure using no chip polish *eyebrow and upper lip wax Here is what Vicky did: *removed my acrylic nails, changed color to orange shade in no chip polish *Gave me a pedicure using Apple Red OPI regular polish (not no chip) hand and toe nail polish clearly did not match. *Vicky said that she would use a "dip in powder method" to replace the nails she removed. *Kept insisting that she did not remove my acrylics but that they were too thick. Said, "I make better". *I went to Happy Nails, Downers Grove, IL, the owner Danny, said that my acrylic nails had been removed, the nails were not even filed correctly. Danny suspected that the owner of the other shop was just trying to make me spend more money. *When I vehemently and loudly complained, Vicky refused to do my waxing. Since I knew I would have to pay $25 to get my nails replaced, I refused to pay the $25 for the pedicure. I tipped the tech who did my pedicure 40% and left. Never, ever patronize this salon. It's discouraging to spend good money and receive such subpar service. I have been going to Phan for over a year for pedicures, then decided to treat myself to some nails. They truly do not know what they are doing and completely botched my nails the last two times I was in the salon. After just a week I had to remove all the dip as two were completely broken. Last time I was in the salon I looked for their licenses which I could not find, so I will be inquiring with the licensing board to make sure they all are licensed as I find it hard to believe that one has gone through the proper schooling and still cannot file nails correct. I won't be back and would suggest that you investigate them further if you are planning an appointment. I am over them. read more

I have been goIng to this salon a since we moved to Lemont in 2016. I've never received a bad mani/pedi and they're always friendly. Before going on a vacation and while visiting my sister, I mistakenly went to another salon where they put fake nails and left them real long (I have real nails and don't use fake ones). I went to Phan nails to see what they could do and Vicki, the owner, gladly soak them off and redid the polish and didn't charge me! I also bring my daughter every once in a while. The first time I took her, they didn't a child's chair for pedicures. The second time they did and my daughter was ecstatic. The only bad thing I experienced was the waxing. Before Christmas I went to get the usual with waxing. The girl, I think Vicki's daughter, was friendly but I got burnt. Not putting that against them though. Should've asked for threading coz that's what I get but from a threading place. read more

I had an appt in the area and was early so I decided to stop in here to get a pedicure. BAD MISTAKE!! I had to ask twice for the water to be hot as it was freezing cold and the man walked away screaming. Second, I had to ask the man if he could cut the sides of nails and he said later. We we're almost finished and I was still waiting. I had to keep reminding him and he did a fast job. I wouldn't recommend getting a pedicure here and it's not worth it. i come here once every two weeks, and usually i get a regular pedicure and a no chip manicure and the service is usually wonderful. today i went in just for a no chip and instead of the great service i usually get, the guy skipped the soaking of fingers (brought the bowl of water and marbles to me but forgot to have me use it) then didn't clean up the extra skin around the nails, didn't push back my cuticles, and literally just changed the color. the paint job itself looked like a little kid did it. if i wanted messy i would've done it myself, or asked a 5 year old to help me out. i'm extremely mad and sad because i come here to have a good and relaxing experience and was very disappointed. read more

I can speak for both the salon's nail services and waxing services; especially speaking on behalf of the waxing service, please take my advice and STAY AWAY. I went to Lee Nails a total of four times, three of which I received service (each time worst than the last!): the first time, I had a pedicure with decent service; the second time, I had another pedicure, but this time the tech was in a hurry and glopped on the top coat before the polish had time to dry, leaving me with two botched nails that he had to re-do. I also had a waxing which was done okay; the third time I was left to sit in a tepid foot bath for 45 minutes waiting for a tech to come around despite the fact that there were only two customers getting manicures; and the fourth time visiting is what really sparked me to write this review. I went in to get a waxing, having decided to forego sitting neglected again for a pedicure and having thought the last time it was a decent price and a decent job. The service was done as soon as I walked in even though it was a Saturday morning and there were a lot of customers inside (I guess if you go when Lee Nails is crowded, you're given more prompt attention?) Anyhow, the waxing was done standardly and, as expected, wax was not too hot and did not take too long. Was allowed to give the results a look-over and because my skin gets very red for a while after any waxing, I thought everything was good-to-go-- just a little sensitivity that needed to die down. I paid and left presumably satisfied by the prompt service, until I got to my car and noticed that the redness had died down quicker than thought, which helped me to see that I had a patch of skin torn off! That's right-- Not just a small gash, but a PATCH about an inch by 1/2 inch in size, on my face. Quickly ran back in to show the woman who did my wax what had happened. She appeared flustered and alarmed and told me to follow her back to the wax room; once there she showed me that the wax wasn't even that hot. I told her I realize it isn't that hot, and wanted to show her that her technique was too rough and left me with a missing patch of skin on my face. She was very confused by what she had done (best way I can describe it) and offered very rushed apologies and told me to "put Vaseline or makeup on it" to make it go away, as she dabbed some type of aloe cream over it. It's been two weeks now, and I can tell you that Vaseline did nothing to keep it from forming in to a scar on my face that has me seething with anger every time I look at it and think of where it came from. Please heed my advice: DO NOT GO HERE FOR WAXINGS!!! The nail service is not worth patronizing the salon for in the first place, let alone the wreckless waxing that can be done here. Please, save yourself some frustration-- whether it would stem from waiting for 45 minutes while your skin prunes to trying to conceal a scar left from bad waxing service-- and avoid this salon. read more

Never come here! I had my mani/ pedi done here and I end up having an infection on my finger. When I brought it up to the owner, she denied that I was even there and it's not their fault since I usually pay cash, there was no paper trail. I end up needing to go to the emergency room. Today, however, when I walked in I was told they were too busy and I would have to come back another day. I have been to this salon twice in a span of 3 months and they have given me a poor and crappy job twice. I had a set of gel tips on my nails from a previous appointment from another salon and when I asked for a new set the lady drilled them and just went over my nails with new gel forming. She then filed them down until she reached my finger and cut it open. She didn't do anything about it and continue to do my nails. Not only did she hurt me, but she did a crappy job on the polish. If I could give this nail salon zero stars it would be too much because they are a horrible salon and I recommend going somewhere else. read more

It is all about the experience and my experience was awesome. My 10 year old granddaughter had a Mani/Pedi and it was a joy to see how happy she was with the results. Polish was expertly applied and she loved the design on her fingers and toes. Staff is very friendly. We got there early in the morning and as staff arrived they greeted every one. Disposable liners used in pedicure basins. Salon was very clean. I had a great no chip manicure that was not overly thick which is my pet peeve with other salons.Yes, I am a happy camper read more

Stopped in to get a gel manicure from natural nails. Took me promptly. Soaked my nails in cold water & used a power tool file/drill on natural nails! It hurt. I've never had this used on my nails before. While using it she was rubbing the skin on side of my nails. I pulled my hand back because it hurt and she tried It again on another nail leaving it in one place till it got hot! I finally said I don't need that and she got upset and muttered something I couldn't understand. I should have just left but stuck it out. Go somewhere else. read more

I had a mani pedi on Friday at Phans and Vu did a wonderful job on both the pedi and the no chip manicure and is a very nice young man! The thing I was most impressed with though was a couple of other young men working at the salon. There were 2 elderly women who came in and needed a lot of assistance- these men were kind and patient with these lovely ladies. So many young people get bashed for intolerance so I just wanted to give them a shoutout for breaking the mold. Well done! read more

NEVER COME HERE!!! I came to this nail salon to get a no-chip and picked out a light purple with a sliver sparkle on the my ring finger. The guy I got put with, started by RIPPING off my cuticles which made my finger bleed. He wiped it off with a paper towel and filed my nails very short. The tools that he did this with were sitting in a dirty tray and didn't look washed from the last time they were used. He filed my nails once more and ripped the skin under my nails. He started applying the nail polish, but I pointed out that it was very light and was not the color I picked. He then went in the back and grabbed pink and a dark sliver nail polish which was not the colors I picked. He began applying the nail polish and repeated "PINK PINK PINK." I thought it would appear purple after it dried, but still looked pink. While he was doing this, he kept coughing without covering his mouth. He began putting my nails under the dryer but I quickly pulled away because it had burned my hand. He then kept yelling at me to put my hand in but I was to scared to get my hand burned once more. I then told him that it was hot but just kept saying "ok ok" multiple times. He then filed my nail AGAIN after they were finished! I will never be back here again!! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, it would be more than deserved. I came in to get my acrylics taken off which I usually get soaked off. Not only do they not soak off, they drilled my natural nail until it split. Half my nails they just barely drilled then ripped off using a tip. They also cut open my skin and didn't do anything about it. My nails are completely destroyed and even more frail then normal when I get my acrylics soaked off. When I went to pay, the woman told me $10 which on the wall for a take off, it says $5. I had to show the manager how jagged and split they were for her to fix them. On top of that, she put some top coat on that I told her I didn't want. After that, she tried charging me twice as much as a take off costs. When I told her it clearly states $5 take off, she tried to tell me I was getting charged for a no chip too. I told her she was going to charge me $10 before the stupid top coat I didn't ask for. Not only did she give me an attitude, she was talking on her cell phone while I was trying to talk to her. NEVER EVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN AND I WILL BE REPORTING THEM TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT!
