I have nothing but praises to sing for my local Pharmacy Boardshop. Despite living in the same neighborhood for decades, it took a singular incident for me to stop in, then revisit. A little back story. Pharmacy used to be a few doors down (now an escape room spot), but they've almost always hosted neat events out front with rails and such. I just... Don't skateboard so it was out of sight out of mind somewhat to me. A few weeks ago, I was stalked and harassed by a few dudes in a van who refused to give up and of course it was on a Sunday when hours of local businesses were wonky. I instinctually made a mad dash into Pharmacy while waiting for dispatch to get in touch with me. The man behind the counter was beyond understanding, allowed me to stay as long as needed, and was there for me. *I ended up leaving with a few customers there as they were headed the way I was, strength in numbers for the win. I vowed to return to formally thank the dude and did. I learned how passionate he is with his job, as well as a bit of his history. It made me wish I took up skating because he has the knowledge that those beginning would need (without being "too good" for a newbie). The store itself is well stocked, and has a selection of Pharmacy branded tees, boards, as well as other brands as well. Heck, they even have their own newer version of finger boards to keep your hands entertained. I found the Pharmacy Ambulance board (is it deck technically?) to be especially neat. I immediately went to trying to find any merch with it on it, but it's unfortunately an old classic and discontinued. I'll keep my eyes out for any new drops with it now though. You can tell they look out for their community with the printed events on display too which is an added bonus. =) read more

Popped in today what a cool shop. The guy working was super helpful and had some great knowledge, pup was also friendly. We came in to buy our son a shirt for his birthday we were bummed they didn't have one that said Long Beach on it since we are visiting from Las Vegas. You should totally cash in on that ! read more

When my boys signed up for an afterschool skate program, they needed a smaller sized board. We went to a couple shops and Pharmacy had 4-5 in their size. They were very helpful and got us dialed in quickly. read more

Solid shop. Got the bug to get back on a board after maybe a decade away. Staff was super helpful the minute I walked in. Asked for a specific size of deck and they brought me a bunch to choose from. They proceeded to help me piece together a solid complete. They asked me about budget out of concern, which I thought was rather nice, but I didn't have one. They informed me about a cash discount, which was very helpful, so made my way to an ATM and walked out with a new complete that I'm stoked on. Whoever was working 3-5p on 4/2 was super helpful. I used to live a couple of blocks down from pharmacy when they first opened downtown. They recently moved to the bigger space just a door down which is pretty sick. Been there for beanies, shirts, stuff for the decks and other random things. The guys have always been very friendly and helpful. Never had a bad experience. A really nice board shop. Plenty of parking on the side or in the back. You have your shoes, decks, clothing, wheels, longboards. Compact place yet has a great flow. I came here for the opening in the last hour or so since the bf, Myuto(furbaby) his friend and I, had a day full of skate park hopping, Getting some footage from the outdoor and indoor parks. Anywho I believe this is they're 4th location. Come through for supplies and gear! Interiors are sleek and modern. Polite on the phone but unmotivated in person. Hey! You're running a business, act like it and grow up. I bring in a skateboard that had wheels secured with..... an Allen wrench bolt. They said, "whoa, what's that? We don't even have that tool". Really? OK, go buy a set. It cost $5. Then charge me $7. It's called business. I went here to support local shops during Covid. I'm relatively new to skating (really just cruising, no tricks). I bought my first board here a year ago and have since been back to upgrade bearings and wheels. The staff is always really friendly and does a great job being patient with me as I fumble about trying to figure out the right language and components of skateboarding. They seem to be more geared toward skateboards meant for tricks, but for my purposes I've been able to get what I need for my cruiser board. read more

My daughter and I had a great time here today. I am getting back into skating after ten years away. I have been skateboarding since the early 80's and am trying to teach my six year old to skate. We came in and the younger girl helped me out greatly as I forgot exactly what I used to ride. She helped me piece together a very nice complete and didn't try to up-sale me on unnecessary stuff.
