Went to Zumiez for some skate gear for my son. When I called ahead the staff was quick to assure me the items I needed were available. Once I got there, we talked to someone who quickly guided me to the needed items and was able to give some knowledge and suggestions on the sizing for the skateboard and gear I was looking for. We have shopped here for the past two years and my kids and I love the clothes, shoes, accessories but most of all the customer service. We have never had a bad experience. Everyone we encounter is super nice and helpful. They are patient when we are undecided on what to get and super helpful when it comes to helping find the correct size, style or color. If they are out of stock they place the online order for you and NEVER has anyone rolled their eyes or given me or my kids and attitude. We've been able to find Nikes that were out of stock in other stores. I was able to find my roller skates. My daughter bought a cute dress. I have been shopping here for clothes for the past approximately 3-4 years. The selection of clothes meets my standards of skating, pop-culture, and the recent trends in the fashion industry. Zumiez has been filling my closet since my first skateboarding days when I was still a beginner but occasionally today. Despite the fact that wannabe skateboarding posers shop here on the regular. I have no problem with them unless they start harassing me. My main concern here is the employees. Most employees I encounters through out the years are very chill and laid back with very mature and great customer service. But the last 3 times I came to this store some workers accused me of stealing because I had bought something small such as a Rastaclat bracelet and/or a pair of socks. Therefore if those sort of pothead small minded workers see you without a bag but a can't see the receipt in your other hand. You're gonna get called out. Zumiez managers, train your employees to have manners and quit yelling at people who walk out the store without a bag from across the store and just have someone looking at people receipts instead. read more

Rick who claimed to be the assistant manager needs to be retrain and have the assistant manager position taken away from him. (I did a online return and the receipt say Web) I called the store to get a stock check and Rick told me that the store has the item. When I came in, he blamed it on he computer for lying to him because they really don't have the item in store. He should have done a floor check before confirming that information and wasting my time. While assisting me to look for something similar, he was texting on his phone non-stop. Unacceptable and unprofessional! It's very rude to be on your phone, while someone else is talking to you face-to-face. Especially, if you're the assistant manager or on the clock! He then bad mouth the clothing materials. He tried to persuade me to keep what I have because after I wash my cloth, it will shrink to one whole size down. He doesn't believe in his own company product. No work pride whatsoever. The store is super messy and dirty. Four employees just sitting around, chit chatting with each other. Not really working, cleaning or doing anything useful. Zumiez manager/ regional manager needs to secret shop their stores more often to see how horrible their sale staff are. The employees here are so helpful. I called before arriving to find out where they were located within the mall. The gentleman who answered was very cordial. He gave me directions & told me where I could park to access their store the fastest. When I got to the store another employee helped me in exchanging my crotched Tom's for the wedged denim sneaker Tom's, which was I had originally gone in for. He brought out a couple of other comparable pairs that were in camo print & made a few other suggestions. He was personable & wanted to make sure that I found what I really like & I didn't get the sense that he was just trying to push a sale. I actually ended up buying a burgundy-colored Empyre jacket instead of the shoes because I loved the color & could picture a bunch of outfits I could wear it with in my closet. Long story short I went in to get a long board for my son found one on sale for $89.00 which was a good deal original price was $129.00. I went pay for it and it scanned for $54.99 and the description wasn't wrong or anything so she kept trying to override the price to 89 saying it's wrong it even said something on the register about it exceeding the actual cost. So I told her shouldn't I be getting it for 54 if that's what it's listed for she said "no, it's probably(didn't bother to check) the board by itself price when clearly the original price on the sticker says 129. I was like ok whatever I paid for it but it just didn't feel right I looked up the description online and it showed for a COMPLETE board price of 54. I went back and got my refund. Recently went back to the store after the company sent me on a ring-around via email. Ended up sending me a gift card for shoe goo with $0 on it. Luckily for me when I went back to the store Alex, aka "Bones" took excellent care of me and completely understood my situation which is in fact, too long to explain. The employees here are dope! They speak to the customers like real people not some fake-smile job they hate. They always offer similar alternatives if they don't have something I want, and I appreciate the fact that they keep checking in to see if I need help. The review where the guy says , "I hate that they follow me around like I'm some kind of shoplifter"...UM hello that insinuates guilt right there...lol just saying i've worked in retail enough to know that anyone is capable of being scandalous and you should ALWAYS keep an eye on your customers. Okay so the reviews are very outdated. especially when they talk about having amazing employees. I personally like Zumiez, I like the clothing, the brands and so on, but it's the employees! they're so rude here. They welcome you in which is nice but they CONSTANTLY come up to you trying to push stuff they have on sale on you. I also don't like people following me around while I look around like I'm some kind of shoplifter, like I'll go to an area to look at something and an employee will come do some kind of work like folding clothes right next to you to keep an eye on you. I was gonna buy a sweater that was buy one get something 50% off and I didn't want to get anything else for 50% off yet they constantly kept trying to hustle me. I went to the cash register to pay for the sweater and the cashier goes "wow you just couldn't find anything" (with attitude in her voice) like excuse me, what the hell at least I'm buying something that's kinda overpriced/expensive as it is already. Just horrible customer service, I went in today and got crappy service again but that's another story. The only reason I come here is because it's close to work but I'll probably travel a bit and make the trip to Cerritos instead now. read more
