I came into this store after having breakfast at Breakfast Republic, and was greeted the moment I walked inside of the store. I had asked to try on the high top Vans, and had helped right away. Ozzy was the sales rep who helped me. I had difficulty with the laces and trying my best to see if the shoe had fit before buying it. Ozzy had walked back over to see if my shoes had fit me. I was struggling to put them on, until he looked at my hand and realized I had a finger injury. Ozzy helped me with my laces, helped me put one shoe on and offered to help take it off again. He also went out of his way again when I asked if I could try on some slip ons that looked like slippers. Ozzy also informed me to sign up for the Vans Family to get 15% my purchase. Ellie went above and beyond. I wanted the blue-checkered slip-on 9.5, and unfortunately this store didn't have my size. Ellie looked a few times for my size, suggested other styles, and even called surrounding stores. She was genuine, and that is what made her service stand out to me. Slip onto Vans! I was surprised to see this Van's after having coffee next door. I had not noticed it previously. The store is nice and spacious and the employees are very nice. It looks like they carry many of the newer styles including the retro styled shoes I grew up with. While I do prefer the outlet stores, this location did have styles that the outlet store did not have. read more

Shoutout to Daniel and the night crew on 8/3/18 for helping me and my boyfriend out! We've been looking for a certain limited edition shoe for the past 3 months. We walked in about 15 minutes before closing just to see if it happened to be here with our expectations very low. And crazy enough...Daniel mentioned that the certain shoe in MY size came in as a return that day, but they shipped it out to an outlet! He took the time to call the outlet store for us, said he notified the store's manager to put it on hold, and even showed us on the iPad where it was located. It happened to be only 10 minutes away from where I lived. About a week later, I finally have the shoe I've been looking for. Thank you so much, Daniel! Let me just say that all things were considered with the pandemic, understandably. Our experience at this particular Vans store did not start out well. The employee who assisted us first, did a subpar job in actually assisting us. Yes, she retrieved the shoe we wanted to try on but she didn't offer to lace them up. With this pandemic I would think that it's of the upmost importance to help customers to get what they need in a swift manner so there isn't much lingering. Let me tell you, I looked around and other customers were also having to lace up their own shoes as well. SMH. Then as my dissatisfaction was growing, along comes the employee that hopefully is not overlooked by management. This employee approached us somehow knowing that we needed a little help. She mended that dissatisfaction quickly. She grabbed several types of the old Skool shoes in a couple sizes and presented them to us. She also said that if they don't have our size she could check a nearby store. We were grateful for that. THEN, she offered to lace up the shoes! This store has one outstanding customer service employee and good work deserves to be praised. Before we left I was sure to ask her name, "Heather" she said. In my opinion Heather saved this Vans store from a two star review. BTW we have been buying Vans since 1979. read more

This is my local Vans store. As far as customer service goes, they're pretty good (likely because they aren't very busy - at least during the times when I've come in.) except for Mr. Brad who I spoke with once when I called to see if they had a particular shoe in stock. They didn't, so I asked him if he could check the inventory of the surrounding Vans locations. He said that he would call me back, but he never did. Bad Brad. The selection isn't bad, but their inventory is a bit weak. 2/5 times, they don't have the shoes I want in stock. Boo. read more

Most places usually don't carry in stock and that's the end of the conversation. The quality of the products here fell off of a cliff sometime ago... the shoes have always been fairly low quality but have gotten by on style since the 60s. The clothing is really cheap now and that didn't used to be the case. T shirts here are awful and will last through maybe 5 washes before the neck starts to roll... save your money and shop elsewhere. read more

I may go to corporate about this. The guy who was working yesterday 1/10/19 was downright ridiculous! Needed to return something and I had a gift receipt and it was, "oh man I can't do that." "The computers are down and I don't have any gift cards." He was such a liar I saw a stack of gift cards right in front of him. Then it was can I exchange this for something else, "oh yeah I can do that." It was not an even exchange so I asked for some credit back on the remaining balance. Then it was, "oh I can't do that." We do have 2 Van's stores in Vancouver, however, naturally they don't carry a lot of styles and it is not updated as frequently.
