I have been needing a bike for so long and I finally took the time to check out the options in person. I had already researched online and had an idea of what I wanted but had no idea what it would actually feel like to ride the bikes, so I really wanted to try a couple of them out. I went on a Sunday and the employee was super helpful. He asked what I wanted--high priority on being comfortable, not really interested in speed. He said he knew the perfect bike for me: the Townie. He was absolutely right. I took it outside and rode it around the parking lot. It was love at first ride. The seat and handlebars are extremely comfortable. My back feels supported the entire time, even going through bumps (shock absorbers!). It's also beautiful and comes in bright colors. They installed a bottle holder for me and made sure the tires were good to go. It wasn't until I left that I realized they closed earlier than usual on Sundays. I felt so bad for making them stay longer but glad I didn't feel rushed at all. Definitely recommend! read more

I had two bad experiences with this bike shop in one week. I dropped off a wheel with a broken spoke at the BA location. When the tire was ready to pick up I was hit with a $65 bill. The mechanic said he wouldn't even remove the tire. Well instead of calling me to let me know he would need remove the tire and replace the rim tape, they charged me $16 labor for replacing the tape + $15 for the rim tape + another $16 labor charge for replacing the spoke and $3 for the spoke itself. If he would have called me and told me what the cost would be I would have done it myself! I mean $16 labor for putting a piece of tape on a wheel is absurd. Then a few days I stop by the Riverside location at around 9:50 to pick up a few things. I see guys going in at out so I get out and walk to the door when black guy with nappy dreadlocks rudely tells me they are still closed. I wait until 10 sitting in the heat and go back to the door and see him in the back working on a bike. This guy knows it's hot and that I am waiting yet makes no effort to even open on time. So I left and went down the road to Tom's bikes. I've been along time customer of phat tire but I am done. There are too many bike shops in town to put up with this place. read more

Came into the shop from out of state. They were super fabulous in repairing my E-bike. Brought it in around 10 AM it was ready for pickup by 1. I was riding it up around Skiatook by 3. They made some recommendations, told me to keep the bike. No need to buy a different one. Repair cost was VERY easy on my wallet. I am super happy. read more

Great shop! Experienced, fast and thorough. Took my road bike there and they upgraded it same day. Today I took my I-fit exercise bike in for pedal issues. They took on the project and fixed it same day! For $55 bucks including a part! They even work on wheelchairs I'm told. Best shop around-hands down. Highly recommend! read more

Excellent staff, service and facility. I grew up in Tulsa and my bike shop was Lee's on 41st and Peoria. Last Summer visiting Tulsa, i needed to rent a bike because I wanted tour Tulsa and reminisce. I drive into downtown and see Phat tire. I go in and find out they took over Lee's! I rented a bike and all was great. This year, I did a Tulsa Tough Gran Fondo and rented another bike. This is a review of bike rental service. I very much enjoyed the service the young man gave me. He was prompt courteous and friendly. He readily adjusted my seat tilt when asked. He let me pick my helmet and gave me a lock when I asked. The bikes for rent were Trek mid drives. THe largest frame was a step through. I'm 6"1 so a step through is what I opted for. Would have been nice not to be on a granny bike though. There was nothing fat about the tires. I'd give a good guess and say 1.75's. Fat tires are great on e-bikes because they're very forgiving to ruts in the road, especially at the higher speeds an ebike can produce. Also the the only mode of "e" on these bikes is pedal assist. There is no twist or push throttle. One HAS to be pedaling to get assist. Three levels of assist to choose from. THis is what bothered me the most. Sometimes you want to twist that throttle to get up that hill at the precise speed rather then pedaling and letting the bike determine how much assist to give you. The young man tried to tell me the shop 'philosophy' about using the bike as a bike. Which kind of irked me. I use a bike how I use a bike, not how you tell me to use a bike, thank you. Ride how you ride, man. Let me do the same. Not interested in hearing about the shop philosophy and why my style sucks vs. how your style is superior. I'm interested in having a good e-bike experience. My experience. I've ridden a handful of e-bikes and these were by far the most basic of the basic. Also the bike was filthy. Frame had soda or something splashed all over it and grease/oil marks from servicing that never got wiped off. Kinda yuck. Nonetheless, I put about 45 miles on this bike and the bike paths were awesome. Would I rent a bike from here again? No. Again, service was great, product sucked for my purposes. The last bike I owned was a single-speed huffy. The last bike i rode was my kids bike, being silly in the driveway. I walked in with zero knowledge but quickly found a smiling face to school a rookie on the basics of bikes! Zero pressure to buy (or over-buy). Just an education on what might be best for me and my situation. Long story short... I tried out a few bikes, found the one I liked, picked up some safety gear in the process... and had an AMAZING maiden ride this weekend with my kids. First 10 miles, in the books!! read more

I go to spin class pretty regularly and needed to get new bike cleats/clips for my shoes. I went in and asked for assistance on where to find the item and was made to feel dumb and not welcomed... I guess because I said I take a spin class and I'm not a traditional road cyclist? Once I was given the cleats the employee just left me and I went to find the cash register and just stood at it while he looked around at other merchandise nearby... I don't think there were any other employees or customers around. It was pretty awkward and continued to make me feel not welcomed. I will never go back to this store, if I didn't need the cleats as much as I did, I would have left and ordered them off Amazon like I have done before. I'm all about shopping local, but this really left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Walked in to check out this local shop. I'm in Tulsa from out of town and was surprised at how nice this shop was. The employees inside were great people and down to earth. Also cyclist themselves and knew the area well. I ride and run a lot, but am unfamiliar with the area. I was accurately described an awesome running route and plan to be back to rent a bike for the day. I am super happy I stopped in to this shop. I'll update with pictures after renting a bike. They offer the Trek Domane Road bike for rent, not just cruiser bikes. Excellent for the cyclist/triathlete that's traveling. Thanks for the great experience! Billy read more
