These guys are terrible. Don't waste your money on poor quality work that may or may not have even been completed.

I've been shopping at this Lowe's for about a year now, having purchased a house in Deland. As with…read morenew "old house" purchases, there is a lot of work I'm doin. I would usually go to Home Depot because I am also a Home Depot stockholder however Lowe's is close to my house. As a result I have spent over $12,000 in the last 12 months getting my washer my dryer and also renovating my bathroom, changing my ceiling fans, buying paint, and all that goes with that type of Renovation It's been very expensive and for the most part I've been happy (Mostly thanks to Anthony in appliances) Today I went to return an item because I bought an extra one just in case the guy needed it. It only cost about $10-$15 each. When I went to the return registered to return it and gave them my credit card which they traced to my purchase I was told that they couldn't return it because it was over 90 days. It was also totally intact in the original packaging and they are still selling it. I can't really think of a good reason why they would not have returned something and giving me credit when they still sell it except That their customer service is getting poor. Admittedly, I haven't returned a lot of things here and I guess that's good for them but this type of customer service is bad. I asked to see a manager and a guy, Christian said he was in charge of the front desk. I'm not sure if that means he's a manager or they were just sending anyone out because they weren't going to give me credit. He didn't have "manager" on his name tag. There's not much I can do if they're not going to give me credit on the spot, but what I can do is never go to Lowe's. I had already been in talks with their kitchen renovation people to do a full renovation in my kitchen. I guess you know I will not be using them for that. It's not enough that all the prices all over are so expensive and elevated almost 100% more than it was five years ago today but now them refusing to take a perfectly good item back that I purchased from them when they still sell it because it was a little over 90 days is terrible. What else is this country gonna be messed up in and when are the consumers going to be considered never wrong again? Not today at least not at Lowe's. They've seen me for the last time.

I have pictures and them saying the panel was installed by them. Then they blamed the issue on solar panels being installed after the pool was completed. The panel they installed had a loose hot wire and that caused a SHORT which back-feed power to the main circuit breaker panel on the side of the house and that caught on fire. Look at all the yelp ratings, most are one star for a reason.

I scheduled service in April 2025, and despite multiple confirmations, no one showed up -- not once, but twice. When I followed up, they admitted they forgot to log the repair. Seriously? After weeks of delays and zero accountability, my pool turned completely green and unusable. I've spent over $300 out of pocket trying to keep it under control with chemicals -- all because they couldn't be bothered to do their job. Then, after I left a polite but honest review, their rep told me they would no longer help and that I should call the manufacturer myself, saying they had "other things to do." They blamed their technician, the equipment, and even me -- anyone but themselves. This company clearly doesn't stand behind their work or care about customers once the sale is done. Avoid at all costs.

Sod Express or SunState Tree Services 12-24-2012…read more I have had both branches of Sod Express and SunState Tree Services work on our property last week and would recommend them for both sod installation and tree pruning. The first delivery of six palettes of sod was the wrong strain of St. Augustine. I mentioned this to the foreman, Ben, and was told the correct sod would be delivered the next morning. The team went ahead and prepared the yard by removing the old weeds, roots and leveling the yard. By 10:00 AM the next morning the new sod was delivered and the originally delivered sod was removed. We had agreed on a price verbally over the phone and the owner, Randy, actually reduced the price slightly because I had to wait for the project to start. Ben noticed a large (4 inch dia.) dead branch about 30 feet up in one of the trees. I asked if they could remove it and while at that removed a larger (10 inch dia.) branch that was shading the grass area. We agreed on a fair price, but overnight I wanted to add several more. The upcharge for adding these was less than half the original price. We ended up about 300 sq short of finishing the yard. I went ahead and paid the bill in full, something I normally don't do, but felt this was an honest company with honest employees. I was told they would be out Monday to finish up and sure enough at about 11:30 this morning they arrived with the needed sod. During the entire job ALL of the employees were courteous and professional, and most amazingly smiled continuously. I couldn't believe that I didn't hear one single complaint in two days of hard work. They moved a dozen ornaments from under the trees that needed pruning so as not to damage them and then spent a significant time cleaning up our yard before they left. I questioned a few pieces of sod. I was told that if I followed the watering directions it would be fine and if it wasn't within 30 days just call and they would take care of it. Working with Sod Express was a great experience and one I will repeat when I have the funds to do the front yard. I would recommend Sod Express and SunState Tree Services to anyone who needs yard work. Ken Sch

Anyone who entered my house was very professional, did the job they were assigned to complete. Job was completed in the time frame they had given me. On June 13, 2025, we signed a contract with them. Work began July 21, 2025. They finished on May 26, 2026. The contract stated that it would take 4 months, possibly 5, to complete the project. It took them 10 months to complete. There was a total of at least 15 weeks (a week being 5 consecutive working days, i.e., Wednesday through Tuesday) where NOTHING was done at the house. Prior to beginning demolition, they required a total of 60% of the contract to be paid. At the end of demolition and rough-in, which took 4 weeks, they required a total of 84% to be paid. Then they wanted payment for the project to be substantially complete and usable prior to the installation of the glass shower walls or the master being usable. That would have been 95% of the contract. The supervising contractor stated that he would not have the shower glass installed until they were paid. I sent his boss a copy of the Florida legal requirements for being substantially complete and usable, and I also hired an attorney. When it came time for the final walkthrough and final payment, they didn't want to provide us with the Affidavit of Contractor's Final Payment, which shows if there are any subcontractors who have released their lien and those that haven't been paid and how much they are owed prior to receiving the final payment, even though we had the right to have it according to our attorney. Then, when we received the document, it was a "waiver and release of lien upon progress payment."

Time was of the essence for us as we'd already sold our other home, and had a baby due later in the summer. Our designer Mayerlin, and project manager Adam hit the ground running to get us to "substantial completion" as soon as humanly possible so we could move out of our temporary housing before baby arrived. Not only did they make it in time, they were early! The only time we fell behind was if I needed them to change something or added scope to the job and at every turn they were helpful, professional, and took pride in their work. While we still had pending projects after bringing baby home, they worked with us to keep disruptions to a minimum. A major selling point for us with SW was their reputation for doing what it takes to make clients happy and ensuring all employees and subcontractors who entered my home we background checked quality craftsmen. They did not disappoint and we are so grateful for their skill bringing our vision to life! If you choose SW, make sure you request Mayerlin and Adam, you'll be in great hands!
