I went to Yama for Japanese hair straightening. I've been doing Yuko (Japanese hair straightening) for 15. This has been by far the worst experience ever. As he was brushing my hair, clumps fell out!!Now, I know with chemical treatments things can go wrong so I did not blame him at all. But when I asked him what was wrong, he literally ignored me! It was the most unprofessional treatment i have ever experienced. I felt a fear rush over me like I've never felt. The damage was not where the old treatment overlapped the new hair but rather the roots which showed me his inexperience. He never sectioned off small strands to flat iron it correctly which means it didn't seal properly. So when I left, I had hair the was dry, damaged and course. It felt like hay! He didn't even fully iron the whole head after. I told him "it shouldn't feel and look like this" - he the proceeded to ignore me again!! I said I'm not paying the full amount and he laughed and said "do you do this everywhere you go?" I've done this as I said for 15 years, I have never once complained and I've always tipped 20%! He never reassured me or tried to help. He dismissed me like I was crazy. Pictures don't lie. These were only a section of the floor. Stay far away from this man. He is rude and a complete novice despite what he claims. read more

Phenix Salon Suites is full of different beauty salons and could easily be a one-stop shop for all of your beauty needs. I came in to get my hair cut and was really impressed by the cleanliness and sheer magnitude of just how many salons there were in this building. I visited Sassy Scissors and Anita was quick and efficient in doing my hair. Her prices were totally fair and she was friendly and listened to all of my wants/needs for my cut. I have never been so happy with a haircut, color, highlights, and style!! Fauvette is a Miracle Worker! I went in telling her she has her hands full with my hair and oh boy did she! My hair was uneven, unhealthy, under moisturized, UN-Everything! Fauvette said not to worry. I showed her some photos - I came out looking EXACTLY like the photos!! (that Never happens) Fauvette is a lovely young woman with so much incredible talent (and patience!)
