I stopped by this nail salon because of the ease of booking an appointment a night before and also the quickness of getting a gel pedicure (mini) for 45 minutes! I didn't get the name of my nail artist but she had red hair and was originally from Miami and did a great job on my feet since I haven't got them done in months! I'm so glad I went here. I haven't found a salon I liked until I got here. This place has the best reviews so I decided to try it and I was not disappointed!! It is small in there which I like because it's not super busy. I wish I got the name of who did my toes but she was so kind and very knowledgeable about my past experiences with getting my toes done at other places and what they did wrong. Monica is very friendly and helpful. I called after hours and still got a prompt call back to help schedule our appointments. Parking was easy in the plaza and we were greeted promptly upon arrival. Happy to say we barely waited and actually got started a little before our scheduled time I think. My nail tech, Emma, was great. She was very careful and professional. BEST PEDICURE IVE EVER GOTTEN! It's by appointment only so I requested on here two days ago and it was the weekend so I got a response the next day. Silvia replied and accommodated the services I requester for 2 people. We were greeted right away and given colors to choose from. I got a gel pedi and mani. Pedi first with Lucy. Lucy was so nice and friendly. She took her time and didn't rush, which I appreciated! And she scolded me a little bit because of my fingernails, but all in good fun. The whole service took about two hours. I had hoped this was going to be a good experience. I was seated in a pedicure chair where the right arm was broken so I had to put my belongings on a techs desk. Highly allergic to latex and they did not have latex free gloves. Everyone today has everything latex free! Not here. I went as far as getting latex free gloves on AMAZON and sharing it eith the owner. I also noticed that it was very warm inside. I gave benefit of the doubt and stayed and also requested an experienced tech. Let's just say that speaking both English and Spanish this tech was not listening. The so called luxurious pedicure was a 2 hour journey filled with stress. I was petrified the tech was going to cut close to my skin. I continued to tell her not too deep. My cuticles were not properly handled and she was barely scrubbing my feet when it came time to scrub. I had to do it myself. The tech was nervous that the owner would see me. Sadly, I had to wipe the scrub from the back of my knees and off the chair. I also requested an extra towel to wipe my legs free of the awful scented heavy moisturizer. The tech looked at me strangely as if I were making her uncomfortable for requesting and doing what I needed. All in all, I would have gladly pay $75. 00 over and over again if it was worth it. However, it was not worth it!!! Did I mention, it was hot and so I did ask the owner to put the air-conditioning twice. In which she replied it was up and running but that she had to keep the front door open due to another customer getting acrylic. So there was 3 customers including myself WHY SHOULD THE FRONT DOOR BE OPEN TO VENT DOESNT THE AIR CONDITIONER WORK? Exactly! There was also a smell of what one of the techs smelled like GAS I TOO AT THAT VERY MOMENT NOTICED THE SAME BAD ODOR. Not comfortable. What a great little salon! My husband surprised me with a gift card for this salon to get my nails done (Mother's Day Gift). We had never heard of this place or been to it, but he read the google reviews and this one had top ratings and reviews. I went in on a Saturday and it was so nice that there were not that many people inside the store ( maybe they don't take walk ins?). Every mail tech had a customer and no one had to truly wait. Everyone who came in was assisted in a timely fashion (their scheduling must be on point). I got set up for my pedicure first and that's when I met Emma. Very sweet lady with amazing quality work. I even felt like dozing off several times because I was so relaxed. She gave me a nice little leg and foot massage, which is not something you usually encounter (the usual for me has been a quick leg rub with lotions). She was very gentle and the job was perfect! She then took me to her table to do my gel manicure. She was fast, efficient, and she got them done perfectly. She really takes pride in her work. I think Sylvia Nail Salon is going to be the reason why I am gonna go back to getting my nails done again! Customer Service: When I came, I was welcomed by Sylvia and Kayla. Sylvia was really welcoming, nice, made a conversationn with me right away. Kayla was such a nice manicurist. We talked about any and everything and I felt comfortable right away. I was also offered different drink such as cappucino, mimosa and coffee. I went on with orange juice because alcohol was not an option for me in the morning lol. Firstly, the service here is really good. Everyone was super kind and willing to try something new. I wasn't too happy with my first set and came back to see how we could possibly resolve it and Sylvia jumped right into it and redid it (with no additional cost), to the point of staying after hours. I appreciate all of the effort and assistance from all three of the women there. My set was about $85, not including tip, but I got the dip, a design and gel on top. A bit pricer than where I usually go, but I do like that it seems like a shop with predominantly women as well as the overall ambience. There was a moment where I began to cough a bit and Sylvia immediately offered a water bottle and some chocolate. Very attentive in that aspect and really aims to give you what you want with your nails. I also like that they go out of their way to call clients by their names and they seem super amicable with a few who I imagine are regulars. Ultimately, I left with what I wanted. I just wish they had more color options for dip and some spa music or form of entertainment. This place is great, nice and clean inside, and I like the personalized feel there as there are not too many people and appointments allowed. You definitely get what you pay for. Scheduling the appointment through Yelp was great and the response from Sylvia was pretty quick. I hope that in the future there is more flexibility with appointments. After about a week and a half the dip started to chip and my nails started to break. I think maybe one more coat would have prevented this problem. read more

This was a different experience all around and I guess I'm just used to better quality? I don't know. I came here to Sylvia's because it had a really good review rating on Yelp. My experience did not match the reviews for sure. I was told the name of my nail tech, but then they switched when I came in. Not really big deal. Just kind of weird. Neither of the colors I chose from their "book "were the colors that I received. I could hear my nail tech talking to the manager and the manager is telling her to give me something that was close enough. When I spoke up and said something about it, the nail tech told me that was a color I picked. Which was a blatant lie, and I knew it wasn't because I heard her talking to the manager about not being able to find that color. Anyways. I ended up just going with it because it was OK enough. When I picked out my dip powder color what was actually put on me was also completely different. I chose a really pretty orangish tan color and I got like a baby pink. I didn't say anything because I wasn't 100% sure it wouldn't change once they started putting activator on the dip. It never did change and I just didn't want to prolong this anymore . I wish I would've spoke up but I was already so irritated I didn't want to get into it over something that's not a big deal in the scheme of life. I think it's ridiculous that their powder nail colors do not match what you can put on your toes. They must have an old brand or old formula because it really stunk and you couldn't get a matching polish. That's the first time I've heard of that at all in like two years of places I've been to. We've been traveling a lot and we moved a couple times and so I'm in the area trying to find a new place to go for the next year or so and sadly this won't be it. To spend $80 and not even like what you have really sucks. I mean it's tolerable and that's going to have to be good enough for now. They charge $5 to remove old dip powder which I totally understand. I don't mind. Except for I pretty much soaked and scrubbed them myself. The nail tech sanded in between so I guess that's the charge? That was weird as well to me. Also their color selection for dip nails was SO SMALL. Not a good variety either. I would have left at that point but would have been charged a $20 cancellation fee. Overall, I do not recommend if you want powder dip nails, and on top of all this, my nails feel pretty thin and I doubt they'll last me a week, let alone longer ( mine usually last 3 weeks minimally, almost 4 sometimes!). read more
