From the beginning of our time working together, he took the time to get to know us, the relationship that we share, and had already started making plans on how he was going to capture it. We met for an engagement shoot and he immediately created a space where we felt comfortable being ourselves (which is surprising for two people who are notoriously awkward in front of a camera). From that session on, we knew that no one else BUT Drew would be able to capture our photo story. He has a unique look through the lens and captures candid moments that you normally would only be able to rely on your memory for, if you even saw them. Unfortunately, two weeks before our wedding, COVID surprised us. Thankfully, Drew and his team were patient, amenable, and willing to facilitate the rescheduling of our wedding and working under the unprecedented circumstances to make our vision come true. When our wedding weekend finally happened, the process could not have been more smooth. I really wanted a photojournalist to capture our fun and Drew was the perfect fit! Fast forward a few months and Covid hit and I had to cancel my entire wedding and do a forced elopement. I was having a horrible time dealing with vendors and the whole process was honestly traumatic. Then I had my call with Drew. He was so understanding. Not only that, we made a plan together. He was able to change dates and even sent an email with possible locations for an elopement with our desired vibe. My fiancé and I went to explore the areas and fell in love with one of his suggestions. Day of our elopement we were planning on sunny skies and beach views but instead we had rain, mud, and mist. But Drew pivoted once again and it was perfect!! Our friends and family were not able to be at our wedding, but Drew created the story for us to allow our family to access to what we couldn't. Instead of just gorgeous portraits of us (although there were plenty of those) he captured the views, the vibe, the emotions, and the love. Neither my fiancé or I are particularly easy to photograph; we are awkward and stiff. But Drew somehow captured our personalities and love in shot after shot. Drew gave us something that covid took away; he gave us the ability for our family to get the story of our wedding. It's been 8 months and certain shots still take my breath away.
