I sent an email thru their website and no response. Its an emergency. I need to renew my passport or give me that emergency document. I call on the phone and no one is picking up the phone. I can't leave a message either because inbox is full. I felt helpless since you could not go there in person. I tried to schedule since January and no available dates. I can't buy the ticket coz I'm not sure if you guys will approve it or not. I don't have the medical document from the Philippines which is one of the requirement. No alternative on the website on how the documents from the Philippines can be transmitted to us. Will you accept if my relatives send it to me thru attachment in email coz your website doesn't mentioned it? I guess they really don't care about having a bad review. We drove up from San Diego to obtain the necessary paperwork to take my father's ashes to the Philippines. We understand that it can take hours for this process, but as we waited in that packed suite, the man in window 9 ("dual citizenship") was just sitting there staring into space, literally. When my mother asked him a question, he rudely responded with, "why are you asking me? I wasn't the one who started your paperwork." Inefficient, awful service, with lazy staff. I agree with the other reviewer - the security guard is an a..hole. He was power tripping and thinks that his dominion includes the hallways - when I asked him why I can't use my cellphone outside of the embassy he couldn't give an explanation and said I am committing a federal crime and that he will arrest me. Lol - I think he thinks he is a cop. He won't give his name and treats everyone like everyone is beneath him. I don't understand why he still has a job - do people in the embassy not see how horrible he treats the people that come to the embassy? He is very rude. He was shouting at an old man who had a bottle of water and pointing to a sign in the wall( that said no drinking) and said can you not read? (Technically the old man was not violating the sign - he wasn't drinking the water and there was no sign that said you can't bring a bottle of water) - but the poor old man just stood up and threw the bottle of water (his wife said - drink the water outside sayang mahal ang tubig) When I complained to the officer of the day - she said it is not her job to reprimand the security guy as that is someone else's job and when I asked for explanation why I can't use my phone outside the embassy she said it was an administrative order. I asked who gave the admin order and told her I was going to go to the building manager and ask - she couldn't give me an answer and sent me to the consuls office to complain. I went to the consuls office and I met a really nice lady who tried to address my concerns and said they will talk to the guard. She also offered this explanation why phones are not allowed in the embassy - it's because people take pictures of the embassy employees and post it on social media. I guess instead of improving their service so people won't complain in social media - they would rather close their eyes to the issue and not address the complaints. I came December 26 2018 wednesday and its closed because is a filipino holiday .what holiday is it????Next day I came and there is no more waiting tickets for the day.The following day came here AGAIN arrived at 9:15am to renew my passport and 3:15pm still waiting for my photo to be taken.HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT.I been waiting 6 hours. it's unfortunate I have to give them a 1-star since I've only been there once to obtain a dual citizenship. It took me almost 5 hours! The staff is most inefficient and the website does not answer any emails. A lot of people live faraway from Los Angeles and want them to return again for another transaction. They want me to go to another website to "register" so now I've to go back and return to apply for the passport. Another day off which a lot of people can't afford. The Man who works earlier Wednesday was so nice. He helps us what to do. And also Me and my mom are the first one. They start calling numbers at 9:05 then we finished by 9:30 so overall waiting is 30 mins for me and my mom. And The lady who took picture of me was so nice.. But the cashier on Window 8 is rude he's not even talking to us he just said "$120 for two " because HE's on THE CELLPHONE TALKING TO SOMEONE USING HIS HEADSET. Tips: Get there early as much as you can. We get there at 7am and no line. Waiting of 2hours to be open. The guard is really strict. He even sent out my Son outside. And He's telling Kids cannot play by the window and Strictly No phones allowed. Parking: Make sure you read all the signs of the street parking they have street cleaning on wednesday and other side will be thursday. Free parking if you park before 8:am then after that will be $1 per hour.. or you can park in equitable parking the cashier or the guard will give you a validation so you will pay only $7. read more

I don't know why people are giving the consulate a low review. People here are so nice and accommodating. They're able to answer all my inquiries as well as my husbands. For passport renewal make sure to make an early schedule using Q-Less and also photocopy the needed documents. If you are like me (I still don't have any green card, working permit and any I.d's but you're don't with your biometrics or in the process of doing so) make sure to bring a copy of any proof that you are in the process of getting it. But even so... the people here are so nice and will help you get through the process fast. read more

Last June 8, I renewed my passport . Today June 28, I received it. That's so amazing. Staff are all helpful and attentive . If you are going to renew your passport just follow the protocol. Bring all the photocopies needed and you are good to go. Good Job Every one!!! read more

I was here Feb 13, 2019 ar around 9am. The person in the entrance door was so nice and will answer all your question. I got a number, and waited to be call. I waited for like 2 hours. Then I have to wait again for like 3 hours but I decided to be back in the bldg after 1.5 hr., after 3-5 mins., my name was been called. This is by far the fastest transaction EVER. For notarization and having it mailed.. 15 mins.. Tops. It took us longer to get there and find parking as we did not know that they moved. New office- cleaner and more organized. They have a person to direct you and give you a number. Big Suggestion- go to the website and get the basic instructions and requirements. Photocopy in 3s and bring your originals. Forms are available online and they can be edited if you have acrobat pro Downside- the wait on the release time. I came here yesterday to have my passport renewed. I arrived around 12:30 and was given a number. The guard in charge is a major tool!! Seriously!! He wouldn't let people in because he said that the room is full so i had to go down and come back in an hour. I came back after 45 mins. from the lobby downstairs (which doesn't have any seats) ugh. So i was then let inside, and waited for another hour for them to call my number. When my number was called, i submit all the documents and i was asked to sit again and wait for my to be called. So i waited another for another 3 hours before i was called again for fingerprinting and photo. Ugh! read more

Park at the building of equitable bank where the embassy is located... its safer, closer and more convenient for flat rate of $7 W/ validation (get it from the embassy guard) Service is good, its organized and has a good flow... I know that due to COVID that times are difficult, but the PHILIPPINE EMBASSY in California (LA and SF) just brings it to a whole new level. It is impossible to get any kind of help, information on recorded message TOTALLY SUCKS. This is the 1st place that potential visitors to the Philippines would go and they are of no help. This place isn't bad, compared to what I went through getting a visa in the Philippines. However, there is a male security guard who takes his job a little too seriously and is quite rude. Be aware that you aren't allowed food or drinks and laptops. This white male security guard will tell you to wait outside by the elevators and then tell you later that you can't stay here otherwise the cameras will take the footage of you waiting by the elevators straight to the police. It would help if he were to give everyone correct information instead of telling us one thing and then threaten us to get arrested. Thanks. read more

Don't ever get your Dual-Citizenship in the Philippines through my experience. I went to Bureau of Immigration in Manila on Sept 2017 and they are charging me about at least 12,000 Pesos on top of other paperworks that needs to be notarized... Plus the employees said it takes about at least 2-3month process. I asked if they have a website/ policy that shows it, they said no. Corruption/Scam at its core. I mentioned this to the window teller in L.A. Philippine Embassy, she said I'm the 3rd person she heard it... I wish L.A. Philippine Embassy straighten this issue for the sake of their future citizens.... L.A. Philippine Embassy is great thou. Went there once and got my Dual on same day. Just make sure you have all the documents by checking their website or calling them. read more

So far it's been impossible to make an appointment (tried several times) and equally impossible to talk to anyone there on the phone. You cannot leave a message either, as all "mailboxes" are full and the call is disconnected. We have written twice via email trying to set up an appointment to renew my wife's passport with no response so far. It's as if this embassy/consulate does not really exist, except online. VERY disappointing to say the least. I would have thought that the Philippine Consulate would be a little bit more concerned about helping their citizens who maintain a home both in the Philippines and abroad in the USA. read more

Horrendous waiting time for this consulate. From getting an appointment to applying, be it for a dual citizenship or passport. To start with, limited parking spaces are not conducive to disabled individuals. The wait time for elevators are longer because of limited capacity for both staff and visitors some elevators only go to certain floors, need to transfer to next with same issues. "Most" building staff here from housekeeper to security are plain useless and rude, would not bother to answer a short question from another customer as to "where the nearest stairs or exit" instead of saying go to information desk: WTF, any building employee should be answer that simple question for direction. They should put themselves in other people's shoes asking for assistance when it comes to unfamiliar places such as this behemoth building. Instead of brushing people off as if it's bothersome to provide at least some decent customer service. The security personnel at this embassy is totally "ghetto," but embassy's customer service is okay although they can certainly use of more present technology when it comes to advance paperwork and processing to be more efficient. I will try to avoid going here if not needed. read more

Another horrible experience at the Philippine Embassy. I was there for the third time attempting to obtain Filipino citizenship for my children. (After the last time I was there, which was a complete disaster and generally the staff was rude, arrogant, disrespectful, and entitled.) The Good & Bad: However, this experience was a bit different I was served at window #11 (Civil Registry) and was helped by two different gentleman both of who were friendly and helpful. My wife went to window #9 and was helped by a lady named Mel who was initially rude, Mel had asked for some papers from my wife while she open her notebook to get them Mel "stated you are not ready, I am going to help the next customer". So much for customer service and patience So she helped the next person in line. (The attitude of some of these employees is abysmal) Anyways after a couple hours later my wife was able to obtain her dual citizenship, oath taking, and we were successful at obtaining our children's paperwork and citizenship approval. A little more efficient than I anticipated She was also successful at processing her new Filipino passport and registering to vote in the Philippines (The passport people were very friendly, helpful, and efficient) I was thinking to my self great I am going to get out of here without incident.... Oh but I was wrong. This is where it goes South I proceeded to Window #10 to obtain information on becoming a temporary resident the sign at the window said they open at 1:00 and an employee came over and told me the guys was still out to lunch and would be back at 1:15 pm. so I waited at the window and about 20 minutes passed and then another person came back and said that he was on the phone and would be there soon. 1:40 p.m. rolled around and still no one to help me. (I was standing at the window the entire time) So one of the guys from Window #11 who was very helpful from before started paging some guy named "Amor" . I stood there for awhile and finally the guy who was trying to help me pointed out a guy at the booth as you walk in from the front door and says that is "Amor" he can help you. Amor looks at me and waves me over. So I walked over to the other booth and this guy "Amor" says oh I was calling you over to help you but you could not hear me (It was very loud there and my back was to him). Of course he did not take the 10 seconds to walk over and tell me he was ready to help. So he turns around and starts talking to some other people. I say excuse me I have some question on the temporary resident form from he opens the packet and says everything is on the back page. And then proceeds to turn around and start talking to the other people again (This Amor guy is complete rude fricking A**hole) (Maybe his name should be Amoron) I had two specific questions one was regarding proof of financial Capability. i asked Amor "How much money do you need in your account." he says I don't know just submit what you have and see what happens. He proceeds to turn around and speaks to the other people again. I say excuse me I have another question. I asked about the requirement of providing Police clearance I said is that for Filipino police or U.S. police (because the U.S. police don't really provide Police Clearance) "He replies that is for here." So he turns around and starts talking to the other people again.... Now I am really getting pissed off this guy is a fricking moron. So I continue to ask him do I need Live Scan Clearance (which is like a police/F.B.I.back ground check which is very standard clearance for people like caregivers, cna's, nurses, teachers, doctors, lawyers, etc.) He says "I don't know just police clearance." So I ask one final question about if I can submit the application from the Embassy in L.A. and "He replies if you are flying to the Philippines you do it there". He turns around and starts talking to the other people again. I said to him you did not answer my question I would like to submit it from the L.A. Embassy. "He responds you can do that. This guy Amoron most have an I.Q. of 50..... The sad part is I saw a lot of very frustrated and unhappy people there even the older Filipino people seemed to get treated poorly...... Simply amazing... Duterte needs to clean this place up. By the way I would have given them a zero but the minimum is 1 star. read more

First off, On 01 July 2020, the processor at window 1 gave my mother in law a difficult time in requesting to renew her passport. She lost her green card and passport so she don't have any ID, and he is requesting a ID but we keep telling him she doesn't have one. He even have the nerve to accuse that her documents might be fake. I tried to process my dual citizenship but the lady that was processing has a bad attitude. She just pointed me the things needed then raised her voice then told me that she will just give my papers to someone else coz she doesn't want to talk to me. I asked for a supervisor but they said that they're not yet there. Then I asked the person in front desk who do i have to talk to regrading the matter but he said he needs to know first the reason. Then told him that I just need to talk to higher position to address the matter immediately and told me that I was rude. Then a supervisor came, the lady who is processing dual citizen played the victim like i was harassing her but it was her who is using her job power to play superior with everybody. She asked me to be banned to the building to her supervisor. At first the supervisor asked me to leave the building too but when another lady tried to complaint with her, supervisor asked us to step outside to talk. Employee of philippine consulate should be more courteous coz they know that it's hard to get an appointment. Again, the customer service needs to be addressed as well as your representative's attitude towards your customer. read more

First of all they can't have found a better greeter than the guy that they have at the post. This guy genuinely is very helpful considering a lot of pinoys feel entitled and are very arrogant. These people that run the embassy are incredibly disrespectful, rude, and very stupid. They take advantage of their very own citizens by not allowing open-toed shoes and then they force you to rent a pair of old shoes for $20 just to walk in the building. They charge $2 per photocopy of a piece of paper and then they don't even use the photocopy paper that you paid $2 for. Once you walk in some of the embassy employees are wearing open-toed shoes they are very hypocritical. The guard who works the front door is very unfriendly, loud, and rude. Be aware you cannot wear sleeveless shirts it is almost like the Natzis are running the place. The employees probably have an average i.q. of 45. I am disappointed as being a Filipino we are known for being warm and friendly but the embassy treats their own countrymen like garbage.
