@thegoodgirlgigi and i waiting for my parents to get their dual citizenship
    Cheryle L.

came along with my parents to get their business and stuff done for their dual citizenship. The Philippine consulate general is in a pretty cool building in Koreatown. The elevators are very modern and I didn't know how to work it at first lol. But it's super easy! ADA accessible and they are not pet friendly here, but I did have my service dog which isn't considered a pet. of course by law, they allowed me to have my dog with me. The staff is pretty friendly; I didn't really communicate much with them, but they seemed friendly. depending on how many people there are you might have to wait a few hours. Parking was generally easy to find. I walked around and ate at a restaurant while I waited.

It was my first time to visit any consulate office & my expectation of long lines was met with a pleasant quick service. Perhaps, maybe because we went on a right time after the New Year wherein people are not back from the holiday mode. JR serviced my father's inquiry with quick & efficient service that we were done in less than 15 minutes.

Making appointments for consular services is discouraging. It is pointless at times and frustrating. I made an appointment for notary services. I arrived 15minutes early for the said appointment, checked in and received my number. The employee at the notary window passed my number and I went to her, she said I have to go get another number instead of helping me out. I started to talk to her but she dismissed me rudely. Fast forward to receiving my notarized document. My last name was misspelled so I have to go back again. This time it was another employee, nicer and accommodating. I told her the problem and she made sure to get it right. I was told to wait for a couple of hours but I was able to get back my document within an hour. Which is good for me because I don't have to worry about my parking.

Tried my luck by walking in since booking an appointment was so difficult. Kaso bawal daw walk in pag dual citizenship. Kuya in the front desk was very nice and helpful. 12pm-1pm lunch time nila. We parked in their building. Came in the parking lot at 11:55am, left at 12:57pm. Paid $16

My mom's appointment was at 1:20pm. She was here on time. The receptionist told her to scan a QR code and have a seat in the waiting area. The Notary person will call her name when it's her turn. 2 hours later, my mom is still in the waiting room. When she checked with the cashier window, the person there said "why didn't you go up to the Notary window and speak to the person?" My mom told her she what she was instructed. The Notary person was called to her window from somewhere in the back (there was a lot of noise and laughter from back there). The Notary person went over all the details that my mom had to do and said they close in 30 minutes. What happened during the 2 hours we waited? The lobby had a handful of people waiting and the service windows had one person working. It wasn't until 3:00pm that they had 3 workers out on the window to clear the lobby. Someone else here on Yelp said it best, this place gives the Philippines a bad name. The word TAMAD comes to mind.

We would definitely stay here again . These are suites -so the rooms are larger than most single hotel rooms, Lobby is nice and roomy with a 2-story water feature with small water falls. Rooms open onto the open center of the hotel so there are no dark hallways. Elevators are glassed toward the open lobby area so they are well lighted and have interiors visible from the lobby. The breakfast is well stocked and even has a staff member making omelets. Our only complaint is that the breakfast hours end at 9 during the week,so it's not great for travelers who arrive late in the evening from the islands or elsewhere.

Loved having the separate living room and mini fridge, as well as having not one, but THREE different sinks. Much needed when you have four women sharing a room together. The breakfast in the morning was solid. Lots of options and the different drink options were completely free too! The pool was kind of on the small side and there were only like two lounge chairs which were always taken, so we didn't even try to visit the pool. However, the vibe of the entire first floor/lobby/bar area made up for it. The layout of this place is so aesthetically pleasing. You'll see what I'm talking about in the photos I attached. The staff were always super helpful and friendly. It was super easy pulling in and out of the parking garage whenever we left/returned. My only gripe was the $48 a day for parking. That is A LOT even for LA standards, but you are super close to the airport I guess.

The only reason I am giving this hotel any stars at all is because the building itself is beautiful…read moreand the room looked nice. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. Last night, during winter, I turned on the heat in our room and waited 35-40 minutes for it to come on. Nothing. I called the front desk and was told that the entire hotel is switched to air during the day, then placed on a "hiatus," and that heat is not available until around 10:00-10:30 PM. I had to repeat this back to the staff member because I could not believe what I was hearing -- I was told that guests cannot control the heat in their own rooms and must wait until the hotel decides to turn it on for everyone. The answer was yes. I called again around 10:30 PM because we still had no heat. The person I spoke to said she had just come on duty and would check. The heat finally came on around 11:15-11:20 PM, only to shut back off at approximately 2:00 AM. When I called the front desk again, no one answered. My husband and I were forced to sleep under covers wearing our coats and clothes, freezing the rest of the night. I am now sick, likely from being cold all night. I contacted Expedia and was told the hotel has a strict no-refund policy, so now I have to wait for the hotel to decide whether they will "allow" a refund of the $220 room charge, while my $150 incidental deposit will take 5-7 business days to be returned. Even the travel insurance I purchased (which I buy every time) does not cover this situation. Expedia attempted to contact the hotel and could not reach them, so now I am stuck going back and forth hoping someone eventually responds. This hotel has five floors. We were in Room 468. Are guests seriously expected to accept that they cannot use heat or air in their own rooms until the hotel "pushes a button" for the entire building? No matter how cold or hot it is, you wait. What makes this even more concerning is that when we checked in, the hotel was full of older guests (60s, 70s, even 80s) preparing for a cruise. I sincerely hope everyone was okay overnight, because if we were freezing, I can't imagine how they felt. Do not book this hotel. The lack of temperature control, accountability, and basic guest comfort is unacceptable. This experience was beyond ridiculous.

Unfortunately, my most recent stay was extremely disappointing. There were several maintenance and cleanliness issues throughout my stay. The bathroom conditioner dispenser was not properly secured to the wall and repeatedly fell off during the night. Although it was supposedly fixed, the same issue happened multiple times. The coffee machine was also not cleaned properly. It still contained old black residue left behind by a previous guest, and I had to request a replacement. The worst issue was the bathroom. There was a strong sewage odor that made it feel like we were next to a sewer. I reported it to the front desk, but despite informing them, the problem was never resolved during our stay. To make matters worse, when I received my final bill, I was charged $3 for a bottle of water that I had used to rinse the dirty coffee machine because it was unusable as provided. What disappointed me the most was the lack of management involvement. Despite all of these issues, the General Manager never reached out to acknowledge the poor experience. A simple concern for the guest's experience would have gone a long way. I have always enjoyed staying at Hilton properties, which is why this experience was so surprising. I hope management takes guest feedback more seriously and provides additional customer service training to ensure situations like this are handled much better in the future.

When you're dealing with any government agency I find it best to be prepared. Understand the…read moreprocess and what is needed, especially what docs you need to present. With AI technology quickly becoming more prevalent many government agencies are not allowing walk ins except for certain cases. You will be required to make an appointment. We found this to be true with the Consulate here. In the state of California there are only 2 locations. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea can be found in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The San Francisco office also consuls over Colorado, Utah and Wyoming while the Los Angeles office includes Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. We needed to renew a Korean passport. After visiting the website we found the steps fairly easy to follow. For any other office it is best to check their own respective websites. The steps are not standard and can be entirely different. We made an online appointment through the 365 Overseas Korean Portal. The appointment was 1.5 weeks away. I thought it would be much further out but thankful for the shorter time. You then need to fill out their form and submit that. It's basic information and what it is you're trying to do. Simple. With that set we went through the steps again to make sure we had the proper documents needed. In this case your Korean passport a valid U.S. passport/Green Card/Visa. You also need your Driver's License and work permits. They wanted photo copies. Luckily they have a copy machine there for 25cents a copy. Not bad just remember to bring quarters. You will also need a passport size photo taken by a professional. This part use to erq me. If you don't have that, this consulate has a photo booth on the premises for you to take that photo. And it's free of charge. When you sit in the booth it tells you what to do. Tilt your head up, turn to the left, etc. It was great. This office only accepts cash, and had to be the exact amount. Found that strange. Not sure if that's true for all the others and is best to check those websites. The good thing is this office has a change machine. It's best to figure what fees you need to pay, and what the total is so you know what the exact amount is. We brought this with us and extra cash in case there would be something surprisingly we would have to pay for. That didn't happen. It also adivses to bring a self addressed express mail envelope for them to mail your passport . In our case, however, that option was not available.. How that was going to be handled would have to wait till the appointment. Right next to the consulate is a parking lot. It is not free unless you have an appointment with the consulate and you get your ticket validated. Fulfill those 2 requirements and your parking is free. If not be prepared to pop some twenties. Not sure if they give change. It is also important to note this office closes at noon to break for lunch. So, plan your visits accordingly or you could be waiting longer than you like. Our appointment was at 11:00 to 11:30. We got there at 11:11 on a Wednesday. Once you're in there you need to make the copies you need. We did. Get your photo. We did and it was actually fun. Then, you can take a number to be qued. There were 4 people before us not all were renewing passports. And only 2 tellers. The reviews talk badly about teller #2. She was not there. And they talked sweetly of number 7. He was not there either. When our number was called I was surprised we waited only 26 minutes. We presented our documents and stated what my wife needed. The agent started going through the paper work, clattering away filling in digital forms and documents and glancing at other references to ensure she was doing everything correctly. And in 9 minutes it was done. She said everything was good and needed to return on a specific date to pick up the passport. If we cannot pick it up that day, we could pick it up any other day they are open. We would not need to stand in line just go to the front teller to request it and it would be there. I guess the brown bag of food was not needed. This whole process may seem confusing and frustrating but in taking the time to review it was easier than expected. The steps\instructions were very clear. The copy machine, change machine and photo booth were big pluses. The agents were nice and pleasant. Why can't they all be like this?

If you need a american version for your document go to thr website and print it out and they will notarize it for you. It's a hassle trust me. Be prepared if you dnt want to do multiple trips. Parking is free w validation. It's right n3dt door behind the gas station. They make u go to different ppl for different things. Good luck.

I stayed here for a two-night stay because my parents are elderly and thought it would be convenient. Unfortunately, the elevators were not functional. At one point, only one elevator worked, and all the guests knew about the issue. Despite a sign stating, "Our elevators prefer 6 or less people," guests were aggressively trying to get in, even when the hotel was at full capacity. When we were trying to catch our flight, everyone was packed in the elevators, and I tried to ask a group of people if they could allow my parents to get in. They refused, saying they were all filled up. I insisted and pushed my parents in, which got very aggressive and uncomfortable. If you're staying here, pack your patience and get a room on the ground floor to avoid dealing with the elevator issue. Another downside was the beds. They were a bit too soft, and even the hide-a-bed was worn out and didn't provide any firmness. This caused back pain the next day. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet was decent, and the coffee was better than I expected. The staff in the kitchen were also kind and accommodating.

I rarely leave reviews, but after dealing with Stacey at the front desk, I feel obligated to warn…read moreother guests. After my stay, I was charged a smoking fee. When I called the hotel, Stacey confidently told me cigarettes had been found on the floor of my room. She claimed the room smelled like cigarette smoke. She claimed she had inspected the room herself. She claimed she had taken photographs. When I asked for the photos, she told me to be patient and assured me they would be sent. Every one of those claims turned out to be false. Later that day, I returned to the hotel and spoke directly with management. I was informed that no cigarettes had been found in the room. What Stacey had described as cigarettes were apparently crushed pretzels. I was also informed that the room did not smell like smoke and that no photographs had ever been taken. According to management, when Stacey was questioned, she admitted that she had been in a hurry and had not properly verified what she was telling me. That is completely unacceptable. Being wrong is one thing. Making accusations against a paying guest, claiming evidence exists when it doesn't, and speaking with absolute certainty about things you never bothered to verify is something entirely different. What made the situation even worse was Stacey's attitude. She was condescending, pretentious, dismissive, and spoke as if I was the problem for questioning a charge that she could not support with a single piece of evidence. The level of arrogance was astonishing considering how quickly her story fell apart once management looked into it. Quite frankly, Stacey comes across as someone who is more interested in sounding authoritative than being truthful. She had no problem making serious allegations, no problem claiming evidence existed, and no problem wasting my time while I chased down information that should have been accurate from the beginning. The hotel itself was not the issue. Stacey was. One employee's dishonesty, carelessness, and lack of professionalism completely overshadowed what otherwise would have been a positive stay. If this is how guest disputes are handled, I would strongly encourage anyone facing questionable charges to verify everything independently and not simply take Stacey's word for it. She single-handedly turned what would have been a 5-star review into a 1-star experience. From my conversations with hotel staff, it was clear that Stacey's behavior and poor judgment were not exactly a secret. In fact, I got the impression that others at the hotel were already well aware of the problems she creates. What's even more telling is that after reading other reviews, I discovered I'm far from the only guest who has had a negative experience with her. At some point, when the same employee keeps appearing in complaints, management has to stop viewing it as a series of isolated incidents and start recognizing the common denominator.

Do better, Frank - you know nothing about me and your "joke" wasn't funny in the least bit. Front desk staff was never friendly and only slightly helpful here, not the service you'd expect from somewhere so close to Disney and in vacation central. Rude!!

Not anybody friendly. Poorly operated. Stay away!!! First problem was the bathtub. Who puts a razor sharp edged in the shower? The bathtub was awkwardly connected to a stone seat ... that was designed for a shower. It looked like the tiles on the edge of the seat came straight out of the tile cutter, with perfectly sharp edges, that can cut fruits! Who sign off this? Where was the hotel manager? My son slipped and hit the edge on the back of his head, thought the hair, and we had to make a late night visit to an emergency room. The cut was so bad that the doctor had to staple it. Secondly, the A/C was pointed directly at the bed, causing extremely strong wind. At the same time the thermostat was in another room. The bedroom was oscillating between freezing wind and overheating. It was almost impossible to sleep at night. This ruined my whole trip to LA. Lastly the window in the bedroom did not open. The night was cool. I would be ok with just ventilating the room. This is really sad because I have been pretty frequent customer at Hilton last year. I even stay this exact chain (Embassy Suites) recently and the hotel did not have any of these issues. It is possible that this particular location is just poorly operated and the manager should be fired. I'm not going to give Hilton another chance. Going back to staying at Marriott. Never had safety issues with Marriott. Stay away until serious changes are made. Reconsider loyalty to Hilton brand.

We all know parking in LA is a nightmare, but I still have to say their garage parking rate at $5 for every 10 minutes - again, if you arrive too early, the clock is ticking on your parking fees that you have zero control over! With a daily maximum of $46, it's straight out robbery. And the fact they provide no validation parking for people who are basically forced to come here; it's not like we want to come here for fun. So don't even think about parking here if you need to fill out an application. I knew this beforehand, so I decided to walk miles here instead. I also did the application online for more convenience (not having to visit this place twice), but their integration with their app can also be confusing and finicky to use. Once you tell the lobby receptionist your purpose of visit/show ID, they will give you a sticker to put on yourself, and then security will escort you to the elevator. The office is on the 17th floor. You go through security again to enter the office and grab a ticket number to be called. Luckily, this part went smoothly (as long as you followed their requirements on what to bring) Picking up passport for me was $106. I honestly wish they would have more convenient locations to pick it up because I hate driving down to traffic-ghetto-price-gouging LA and deal with the parking and all the hassles included.
