The Red Cross is known all over the world for its relevant social work specially on vulnerable places. Here in the Philippines it's not different. The Philippine Red Cross helps lots of people in need and is always welcome to volunteers.
It provides many humanitarian activities that are very useful in a country that constantly deals with typhoons, flooding and other critical situations. Their work is solid and very effective. There are many ways to volunteer. You can support blood drives or help providing shelter to the victim of natural disasters, for example.
Besides being a volunteer, I recommend enrolling in one of the courses offered by their Safety Institute. This year, they offered courses such as Standard First Aid, Basic Life Support, Home Nursing, Basic Disaster Management, Accident Prevention and Hygiene Promotion.
Just take a look at their schedule. Everybody is welcome. You can make a difference! read more
