My sister got the steak frites, and she enjoyed it. I got the falcon fries, which were absolutely delicious and mildly spicy, a perfect seasoning to them. I also got the Grandma Detroit Pizza. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it because it was different, but after my first few bites, I fell in love. The bread was thick and quite crunchy, but it was tasty. And the spicy chili flake sauce was too good to pass on. It wasn't too spicy. The service was fantastic and kind. The waitress that served us was very kind and didn't disturb us when we were busy eating. The ambiance was very cozy and relaxing. It wasn't very loud when we were served, making conversations easier to make. And the warm lighting gave us good vibes. All in all, an amazing first time trying out the restaurant that left a very good impression on us.

It's just too expensive. Honestly $25.00 for a burger and fries is just so unreasonable, and all of the sandwiches are about the same price. The cocktails are insanely expensive and the beer is exorbitantly priced. Here they are brewing the beer themselves - there's no "middle man" to pay, and I was charged $11.00 last time for a 10 ounce pour ! The poor value caused me to hold off on ordering a second serving. And then I just decided not to because it was a rip-off. Also, on my last experience, I ordered a flatbread pizza and it was not good at all. First of all, when you hear the word "flatbread", you're thinking something on the order of crust that is definitely no thicker than 1/2 inch, BUT, this "flatbread" was THICK like Sicilian style pizza and that's not what I wanted at all. I asked the server about it, and she confirmed "Yeah, that's just how the kitchen serves them." It was hard to eat. The crust was super crunchy (no chewiness at all like a thick bread should have) and all of the ingredients on top were falling off with every bite.

The view from the patio was lovely, and the food was decent, but it is on the pricier side. I do wish the portion size for the appetizers we got was larger, but at least the complimentary bread is so nice and warm and you can ask for more. We ordered the Hearts of Palm Salad and Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail as appetizers and both were delicious. I also got the Saru sushi roll which was okay; I liked that it came with seaweed salad which was a nice surprise, but the roll was cut into huge pieces and had too much rice. I will note there's valet parking available and there's a steep descent. It's on a decently busy road so it can be a bit tough to turn out of the restaurant when you leave.

Food came very slow is the main complaint. But we got the lunch special $35 pre fixe so worth it, the Caesar salad was delicious and so was the clam chowder. Spicy wontons were very innovative similar to the rare steak tartare presentation but with a chip at the bottom. The entree mussels were absolutely delicious, just wish the mussels were bigger in size and more quantity. The beef bolognese was huge portion. Steak sandwich seemed a bit dry and overcooked. The cowboy ribeye was a bit over charred on the corners so bit burnt but the inside was quite flavorful. Mashed potatoes were creamy too. Dessert crème brûlée was delicious $15 with crispy top. Overall amazing food and views, good for a slow meal

Imagine a cool dive bar kind of like CBGB, but with amazing food! And let's talk about the food, the owner Dan is a trained chef. The menu is so vast and eclectic. It might take you a while to decide on what you want to eat. And if you're a vegetarian or a vegan, oh my God, the choices are so abundant, but everything is absolutely amazing! Best macaroni and cheese I've ever had and I had a vegan sausage and pepper hero with hand cut fries simply amazing! The staff are very friendly. The cocktails are amazing and they have a lot of live music. There really great place to hang out!

Newburgh, NY - we were directed to eat here by a friend after we visited nearby Motorcyclepedia…read more It's a popular local hangout, and the vibes immediately strike me as: if this were my neighborhood watering hole, I'd be a regular here. The decor alone earns a star: rock n roll ephemera covers every surface - walls, ceiling, shelves and display case - and takes me back to the days when I went to "shows" and not "concerts." There's even a small stage in the corner for live music, so that definitely checks out. Our friendly server Dianne hands us menus printed on newspaper, and I needed a moment to decide between the large selection of comfort food classics with creative variations on a theme - burgers, sandwiches, salads, mac & cheese, chilis & soups, burritos, wraps, fajitas, rice bowls, and specialty entrées - finally settling on some apps and a burger to share with my kiddo (which I'm told are good here), while our friend went for a steak bowl. There's a surprisingly large vegan and vegetarian section. Surprising because I haven't come across many veggie-forward pubs that offer anything more than a perfunctory Beyond Burger/black bean burger and an anemic salad. Here, they actually respect the non-carnivore's right to have some decent choices. The "hot" wings are alright and not really hot (though admittedly my spice sensors are likely eroded from my intense affinity for heat), but the poutine was a standout, which we ordered with bbq pork add-on. And while it won't quite pass muster in Montreal (tbh I've rarely had authentic poutine in the US despite seeing it on menus a lot - the cheese curds are never right), it was piping hot and delicious. The revelation was the twisty cut potatoes underneath, seriously additive! I love places with heart, which isn't always easy to define but the effort can be discerned in the atmosphere and the details. The Wherehouse has got that spirit & essence. With 16 rotating draft lines featuring regional brews, and substantial food offerings that far outpaces the typical bar menu, it's a down-to-earth dining establishment with the soul of a dive bar, that makes you feel welcomed like a local from the get-go.
