It does mean that its selection is pretty limited, but I walked in to find some unexpected surprises on a random stop. I won't say what they were, but Larry's get props for not over-charging on hard-to-find bourbon like so many places - especially smaller shops - do. Nope, these gems were sitting there marked at very reasonable prices (not big box store prices, obviously, but not 3x or 4x what they should cost by any means). Nice staff and a decent selection for how small they are. Fun little hunting stop that I remember fondly.

Those who know me well realize that after a few days of cow tipping in Texas, I needed to kick'er up a notch and get a stiff drink. Off to the liquor store, right? Oh no, not in Sherman, Texas, as there are no liquor stores. But, you can drive literally a few feet from the city limits to Knollwood Liquors, which is technically not in Sherman... Knollwood Liquors is actually a gas station / liquor store. In fact, you can drive through a garage which has a window and the friendly clerk will sell you whatever type of liquor, beer, or wine you want. Seeing as though I was located in close proximity to where God left his shoe, I was impressed with Knollwood's selection of liquors and beer. Prices. reasonable. SUV's in parking lot. Yep, see pic. An arsenal behind the clerk's counter. Yep, I'd bet on that too. Unique 'lil store!

After a 3-5 minutes, a cocky guy came up and spent a bit talking to my checker. She ask if he could get me the case of Absolute Vodka. He loudly complained that I should get a cart & get it myself, & he was too busy. I ask if I should come another day. Begrudgingly, he push a cart to when the cases were stacked & pushed the cart to me. I am 81. Normally, they carry it to my truck in the handicap parking near the door. He just pushed the cart to me & walked away.

We stumbled across them and unfortunately the day we went we were too late for a tour. We plan to go back for a tour in a couple weeks. If you like bourbon or whiskey this is a great place to visit

There were not any food options but plenty of delicious whiskey to taste during the sampling tour. Well worth the money. The barrels smelled delicious and the area looked remarkably clean for a working distillery.
