I went to see a much, much more affordable and accessible doctor, who immediately got me started on vision therapy, saying I needed that to strengthen my eyes, something Dr. Biscardi didn't bring up until I asked about it. Most frustratingly, they are completely ignoring my and my new doctor's attempts to get my prescription. This is illegal. I'm only leaving this review because my friend had to leave a review to finally get their attention after they were being ignored. The doctor told me they saw nothing and there was a chance within the next 5 weeks my retina could detach. I ended up going to wills eye mid Atlantic retina for a second opinion.. I got diagnosed with Central serous retinopathy (CSR) where fluid builds up behind the retina in the eye causing vision distortion. When I went in for my follow up at Springfield opticians the doctor got angry. She was upset I had gotten a second opinion and basically told me I only have floaters and that I should just leave since I have another appt with wills eye.. (even though she had the report from wills eye in her hand. She didn't even care to read it..) Needless to say, if you're having serious eye issues I would be cautious.

UPDATE: After reading my original review the practice manager, Kim, reached out to me to rectify…read morethe situation for me. Please know that this office cares and wants to be sure the patients have a positive experience. I appreciated hearing from Kim and her proposed solutions (of which she offered many). ORIGINAL: I had been going here for several years. My first year I got Dr Ward and he was great. Unfortunately, in the subsequent years I was passed off to other newer doctors so I missed the continuity in care. On my last visit, a new doctor recommended I try a "mono vision" approach for my multi focal contacts. I was open to it as she said I could "try it out" since it will take a while to get used to. I was told that if I don't like it to "just call" for an updated prescription. It didn't work for me. When I tried to get an updated prescription (around 119 days later) I was told that I was "outside of my 90 days" and would need to come back in for another eye exam. Of course, I would have to pay out-of-pocket for the exam (my insurance only covers 1 exam per calendar year). I was never told of this 90 day window at any point in conversation with the physician or staff nor is it listed anywhere in the paperwork I was given. I feel this is disingenuous and will therefore be looking for a new eye doctor.
