The exam portion is pretty quick and straightforward, but this location of Trend Eye Care isn't very kind, respectful or patient. When I said I would like to look around the room, I grabbed pairs of glasses that I liked the shape of, and then brought them back to the woman helping me. She then proceeded to seem annoyed that I grabbed so many, even though it was my first time picking glasses. She laughed at me when she realized that I picked ones wrong for my face shape and was being rude about which ones made me look weird. Overall I picked a frame that ended up being more expensive than I wanted but I just said yes since I was uncomfortable and needed them quickly. Checked in and seen by ophthalmologist within 20 minutes. She asked if I wanted dilated eye exam which I did. Put drops in and told me to go look at frames for 20 minutes. They have several glass cabinets that are all locked so you have to ask an associate to unlock the cabinet. It's a little tedious because generally I try on dozens of frames, going back and forth, and I feel weird having the person stand there waiting for me to finish so she can lock the cabinet. You can't tell the price of the frames until you pick them up and the price is written on the inside. It would be great if the cabinets had a price range on the outside. I thought the frames were a little pricey. I noticed one employee seated at table #1 who was clearly having a friendly non business conversation with a man for over an hour. The doctor and front desk staff very friendly and efficient. I decided however to get my glasses elsewhere because the process for choosing frames was onerous. UPDATE TO REVIEW: I had 3 pairs of glasses made, one by BJs and two by Lens Crafters, that were WAY off and super blurry. I decided it had to be the prescription. I went back to Trend and saw a different ophthalmologist who gave me an entirely different prescription from the first one! In fact, it was identical to the rx I already had in my two year old eyeglasses! How does this even happen? Fortunately Lens Crafters was kind enough to make yet a THIRD pair at no cost. This was my first time at Trend Eye Care. My experience started off great. Doctor Leslie G was amazing! The best eye doctor I've ever had. I would definitely come see her again. By the end of my appointment, a salesperson helped me and my mom. Tall, black, with blonde dreads. I believe his name is Kalief. He explained how our insurance covered our eye exam and he went on to tell us where the frames were. He started off by saying the cheapest frames were on the right hand side and it gets more expensive as you move towards the left hand side where the designer glasses are and he said "Don't look on that side." - As if, me and my mom could not afford those designer glasses. I shrugged it off and asked him a simple question and his response was "Did you not hear what I just said?" I was caught off guard and my experience was downhill from that point. My mom and I continued along to purchase the frames, but even then he still made smart comments. Overall, my experience with Doctor Leslie G was 5/5 stars. The front desk person was 5/5. Lastly, my experience with Kali was 0/5. He should not be working there if thats how he's going to treat customers. read more

I was looking for a new eye doctor because my insurance changed. My previous eye doctor did not accept my new insurance. I choose this location because it was on my provider list and location seemed very convenient. The staff was very friendly and the wait was short. I had a routine eye exam and a contact eye exam. At American Best I was giving a pre eye test which includes Auto- Refractor Test Eye- Puffer Test DeficiencyTest Stereopsis Test prior to the full eye exam. Which I didn't receive at this location. When I was seen by the eye doctor at this location she asked me if I had the numbers for my eyes that was used from my previous eye doctor. I told her I didn't remember exactly. After the eye exam she ended given me the same number for both eyes. I know I am not the same number. The conts she gave me is correct for one of my eyes but not the other. I couldn't remember the correct number for the other eye. I thought she would know after examining my eyes. She said this way you would get them confuse. Now I have to have my eyes reexamined elsewhere. My insurance won't cover for the new prescription because my benefits exhausted. It does cover for another exam so I'm happy for that. read more

I was able to easily book my appointment online for an evening visit THE VERY NEXT DAY! Not needing to take time off work for an appointment was such a treat. When I arrived, I was greeted by Wanda, who courteously and efficiently helped me understand my insurance copays and coverage. I met with Dr. Moon who was knowledgeable, polite and generous. I was given a few contact and eye drop samples to try over a few weeks before making a purchasing decision. It was refreshing to not be pressured to buy on the spot, but instead decide which product best fit my needs. On the way out the lovely Susan assisted me with my payments and approached her clients with an understanding and jovial heart. It's so rare to get friendly AND accurate medical service in the city. Snagged the first review! I've heard great things about the Trend Eye Care in Northern Liberties decided to give the new spot a try. The store is very clean and spacious, with a lot of cases of glasses to browse through. I was greeted immediately by the friendly staff and given the opportunity to look through their selection while they verified my insurance coverage. I have a few pair of glasses, but don't wear them as often as I should, so I opted to see if contacts might be a better fit for me. After an initial pre-test, Dr. Dinh led me back to the exam room, where he went through a standard eye exam. I appreciate that he informed me about the whole process along the way. I learned that he had to check the shape of my eye for correct fitment. I guess I was contact naive because I thought they were one size fits all. The doctor went to the back and grabbed a pair of samples for me to try on. I'm surprised he spent close to an hour with me trying to get the damn things in! After we finally managed to get them in, I also learned that day that contacts aren't for me. However, he insisted that I take the free sample pair with me to give the contacts an honest effort before giving up. I guess i'll find out in a week if my eyes were made for contacts, if not, I will not hesitate to return for another pair of glasses. On my way out, Dr. Dinh mentioned to me that their eyeglass selection will be expanding in the coming weeks and they can obtain any glasses from any of the big brands that they don't have in stock. read more

I literally had the most pleasant eyeglass shopping experience of my life here. They are all incredibly helpful and have a big bright smile as soon as you walk in the door, as if they're expecting you and happy to see you. They have a humongous glasses selection of all different sizes and shapes and colors. If you can't find what you want here, I don't know if you'll find it somewhere else! They went to great lengths to help make sure my eyeglasses and exam were covered by my insurance too. Less money out of my pocket is never a bad thing! Excellent customer service. Super easy to make appointment. Doctor was friendly, took time to explain everything and answered all my questions thoroughly. I would go back, and I recommend it! I needed an eye exam and contact lens fitting (which I didn't realize were two different things at first), and I easily made a same-day appointment. I called around 10 am, and made an appointment for 1 pm. Easy!! They also take walk-ins. The cost was $65 for the eye exam and $45 for the contact lens fitting (no insurance). I don't know how this compares to other eye exam places, there may be cheaper services elsewhere, however, the customer service was excellent here. A woman welcomed me when I entered and had me fill out a form as it was my first visit. Within a couple minutes, my eye exam started with Dr. Tempesta who was one of the best doctors I've seen... She was friendly, and explained every little thing she did during the exam. She was patient when we went back and "re-tested" my new prescription to make sure it was an improvement over my last prescription. She made sure I understood everything, and made recommendations for which lenses I should get. She didn't pressure me into purchasing lenses or glasses frames that day at all. She told me to wear the sample lenses for a couple days, make sure they were a good fit, and that I could call back when I was ready to order. They have a decent selection of glasses frames, although I'm sure you could find cheaper ones elsewhere. I tried on a few pairs but decided to hold off on new frames (the woman helping me made a note of which ones I liked in my file). This seems like a solid eye exam location, and it's selling point would be its personal attention to customers (rather than dirt cheap deals). After being the last remaining member of my family that does Not wear glasses, I was finally faced with age and curiosity and got my very first eye examination. I was so unfamiliar to the experience that is so normal to most adults and children who wear glasses. I never met such a lovely and friendlier staff than I did. The Dr. answered all my questions thoroughly and welcomed my curiosity. He even googled diagrams to help explain my prescription and biology of the eye. I've been missing out on the range and focus of my vision this whole time! The staff helped my indecisiveness and assisted me in the overwhelming task of picking out my very first pair of frames. They explained all the options and demonstrated the differences in my options. I ended up having the examination and walking out with a pair of frames in the same short visit.
