We ordered delivery for a 6 person gathering on a Sunday afternoon: Seasoned Fries Cheese Fries Broccoli with Cheese Sauce 14" black olive and bacon pizza 3 cheese steaks with provolone 2 cheese steaks with wiz The seasoned fries with cheese were good, broccoli was a much needed veggie dish, and the pizza looked fine (neither thick nor thin dough...somewhere in between). In regards to the cheese steaks - I had a provolone one with onions and hot peppers. Good quality meat/ingredients and overall flavorful (great heat). I prefer a chewier hoagie vs this one is softer. I really want to like this place, but it just consistently disappoints. 1. I went and ordered the Philly... a bit too soggy but it was tasty. Fries were poor and you need to pay extra for a drink and fries... which makes it expensive and it took about 30 mins for food to come out... 2. Went again, ordered the pizza... the guy said it had just come up but the crust was so hard. Not good, must have been there a long time. 3. Not blown away. I'm currently eating an Original Steak sandwich on garlic bread - it's OK bordering on EHH. One thing I really don't like is that mushrooms and peppers are EXTRA! You got to be kidding me. Is that common in Philly - fuckin' people over? That'd be like being in Philly and going to get deep dish pizza and then they tell you sauce is extra. Great late night after the club joint... I enjoyed the thin sliced beef and the choice of regular or garlic bread for my Philip. I got the original no modifications and it was amazing!!!! The option for a large or regular was great too as I am not a big eater especially when it is later in the evening. So the office ordered from here for a dirty Friday lunch. This place is reliably greasy and on time. I rate it higher than alls beef. I got a small chicken philly and fries. It was delicious. I have previously had the salads which are surprisingly great. So one doesn't have to totally clog their arteries to eat at this establishment. Philly's Best is probably my favorite (late night) food spot! No joke. I mean, as of today, I'm the mayor on Foursquare hahaha! I absolutely loved this place, but I wasn't completely sold by it. I'll start off by saying props to the owner for a name that goes along with the cooking preparation of the Philly cheesesteaks. There certainly is a taste of Philly in every sandwich. Apparently most of their heavy hitter ingredients are actually directly shipped from Philadelphia,which is crazy! This of course includes the meat, which is actually pure tenderloin! Talk about quality meat for what your paying! Let's talk about the cheese, wow I've never eaten cheese or should I say cheese sauce quite like this. It's known as "south philly cheese", no wonder I've never encountered something as distinct as this, my goodness it was so creamy and savory. Next time I'll be sure to see if I can get a four cheese blend or maybe I should ask if that's the standard practice, we'll see I guess. They seasoned the meat beautifully, I felt like there was no need for any additional seasonings. The caramelized onions were on point. And the garlic bread was soft and not stale at all. I'm glad mine didn't crumble at the seams thankfully. That's the one negative I can find about this sandwich, boy is it greasy, well it makes one hell of a cheat meal I guess. Last thing the regular fries, trust me, these are the good ones, the puffy ones with all the potato packed into them, marvelous. My only compliant is they lack a special spice blend that changes their color a bit for the better. It was a cold winter night and I decided to try cooking my husband and I frozen chicken ravioli. Well, the result was awful so I had to throw it out and move on to option B (which in my mind should have been option A), Philly's Best. I could eat here every day if my brain would let me. The chicken cheesesteaks are phenomenal. The seasoned fries, delicious. There really is no need for an extensive menu, but they've got one. You are sure to find something that whets your whistle. I was on my way to Amtrak to catch a train out of state and was debating what to get to eat on the train when luckily I remembered Philly's Best is located just about a 7 minute walk from Union Station. I've eaten their Philly Cheesesteaks at a couple of other locations they have in the city so I was hoping this location would be serving up the great flavors I've come to expect from them They didn't let me down in the least! I actually waited until after I'd boarded my train before I broke out my sandwich and ate it and even though it was a little over 2 hours old (of course it was piping hot when I got it, I just chose to save it for later on the train) and stone cold it still put a big old smile on my face. God bless Philly's Best. Their buffalo chicken Philly and regular Philly (with provolone, green pepper and grilled onions) is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I didn't think I was ever going to order a Philly Steak sandwich ever in my life except maybe when I'm in Philadelphia but I crave this delicious piece of heaven whenever I want a good warm sandwich. The best part is, they deliver until 4am!!! That's amazing for Chicago AND they deliver to Pilsen, too! I also love their tasty cakes-- I hear their slices are good, too. Okay so I came here on Thursday for dinner and loved it so much I came back on Saturday for lunch. I ordered the Chicken Philly with the chipotle mayo, garlic bread, provalone cheese, and lettuce and tomatos. (They charge you extra for toppings) I also was suggest to try the seasoned fries (which were to die for) and a drink. The food here is messy (as in all the chicken was falling out of the sandwich which I love messy food) I liked the atmosphere of this place. So this review may be a little skewed, that being, because my only experience here was one night, at 2am, when I was completely inebriated. I got off the bus and managed to find it right down the street. Outside was a group of kind night folk who were busy coloring right outside the entrance. They asked me if I liked coloring and I was like "You better believe it!". I then walked in to the entrance and was presented with an elevator on the left and stairs on the right. "What to do?!?" Then I remembered I was meeting my friend. So I went to the elevator and stood there for about 25 minutes. I greeted everyone coming in and thanked everyone for their business as they were going out! My friend showed up. Noticed how epic my night had already been and took over from there on. I believe I had the sausage pizza and it was glorious! This was a place I used through Uber eats. The reason they get one start is due to customer service. I called to simply inquire about tzaziki sauce and they had a horrendous attitude. It was quite unfortunate to be raising my voice over loud background noise to ask a very simple question, to get such attitude from staff. I was ever further disheartened that i could not cancel the order with uber eats. I therefore received my food not knowing if it had been tampered with after such nasty attitude from staff. I am not sure why, but this one just tastes better than the one on Belmont. I swear because this has to be my boyfriend's favorite spot and we order from here all the time. I love the Pecan Apple Chicken Salad. You would never think that they would have something like that here at a popular steak sandwich spot like this, but it's a great large sized portion that I finish all the time. The steak sandwiches here seem to have a better portion of steak and bread. Sometimes I mix it up with the Combination Oven Grinder, and it was pretty delicious. They have yummy fries, too. I've never had an authentic cheese steak in Philly and I don't expect this to be a substitute, but still good. I suggest skipping the onions as a few of my friends all agree they don't taste appealing for whatever reason. I LOVE this place. I have been eating here for 10 years and it is still amazing. I started off getting salads from them as they have so many good fresh ingredients and then fortunately(depending if you are a healthy eater or not) I discovered the cheese steak. My to go to toppings are White American cheese, grilled onions, lots of black olives and spicy mayo. I've greatly enjoyed it on garlic bread but haven't gotten on GB in years as it's a heart attack waiting to happen and in my early 20s I could handle it but not anymore. Yesterday I had their cheese fries for the first time and they were so cheeeeesey and not floppy. They also have a cheesesteak egg roll I'd like to try one day. I've gotten friends and family addicted to this place. We are all cheesesteak crack heads and if someone comes in the office with one we get angry they didn't share. So we have learned....you must tell all if you are going on a cheesesteak run. Yummmmm as I write this I wish I had one hand holding a cheese steak. I wasn't expecting much (its located close to 2 greasy spoon gyro joints) but was pleasantly surprised by Philly's Best! I agree with other reviewers that it is a clean, modern space that is much bigger than it appears from the street. There's ample seating and wi-fi to boot. The staff was friendly and made suggestions to fellow customers which I liked. I was totally fine with a small chicken philly (I couldn't even it all) and added mushrooms which was a good choice. The seasoned fries were hot (temperature-wise) and I ordered a small of those as well though I easily could have shared. Lots of great menu items including fried mac & cheese (can't wait to try that!) and TastyKakes direct from Philly. This place isn't dirt cheap, but you can get a very full meal here for under $9 or $10. read more

After recognizing my craving for a cheese steak this seemed like the logical place to go. Initially I was pleasantly impressed with interior. I was especially hungry today so I decided on a Foot long steak WITH (onions) on garlic bread, hot peppers, and green peppers. Overall: Phenomenal! The foot long is quite a bit of food, so I recommend the 6" with fries. But it was oh so good so I proceeded to devour the entire thing (wheres my trophy?). Ordered ahead online so it was ready right when we walked in 20 minutes later. Had a 10" pizza with sausage and pepperoni. Was just enough for myself and my girlfriend for lunch. The pizza was above average for the loop, I really enjoyed it. The sauce was quite tangy and there was a bit more than normal amount of cheese, but so much that it feels really heavy in my stomach. Very friendly manager, who comes around to ask if everything is okay and ask if he can get anything for you.
