this is one of the best spot to eat a philly steak sandwich with fresh cut fries wit mild sauce and large red koolaid.... freakin awesome sauce real talk its like heaven on your taste buds ....

"Best of both worlds" philly" & some terrible fries

Damn good philly sandwhich. I'd give a slight edge to (Philly's Best) for the sole fact that they use "cheez wiz" however if you're not a die hard carnivore the literal shards of the steak at Philly's can be a bit much. I loved how the protein is minced here. There were plenty of ways to customize your meal here such as additional "jerk" or "lemon pepper on your fries as well (although if you choose bare fries like I did they're quite forgettable. It's a bit far to travel here solely for food however if you're in the area or desperate late at night this will suffice.

Besides the unprofessional staff. Still one of the best Phillies I've tasted. I just finished one. May be back tomorrow.

I had only sat upstairs at the bar and outside, so I was happy we were able to see the downstairs. It's very intimate down there with only a few tables, while the upstairs is a lot more of a lively bar atmosphere. Service was good and fast. They are known for their burger but I am not a huge burger fan. Their other food is amazing though! Even my boyfriend who loves burgers agreed that the chicken sandwich was one of the best and maybe even better than the burger. Definitely get the mac & cheese, chicken sandwich, and french onion soup. The french onion soup was super cheesy and the mac & cheese was so creamy and perfect. Typically I don't like bacon in mac & cheese, but I love that they don't overdo it here where it overpowers the entire dish. It was only some tiny pieces of bacon just for the flavor.

Hands down, the saltiest burger I ever had in Chicago. At least, they were generous with the fries. Laidback vibes and cool space, I would come back to try the other cocktails on the menu with friends.

The waitress was nice and patient. Even though we had a reservation it took a while to be seated when there were open tables but there were only two waitress for the restaurant. The food takes a minute to come out after being ordered (45 mins) but it was piping hot and fresh. The ambiance was nice. They were playing old school Luther so it was vibe. Nobody's performing, everybody's happy to be there, and the staff treated us like they were glad we showed up. Start with the sweet tea. It's the real thing. The Nashville hot chicken and waffles is the move. The heat has actual flavor behind it instead of just burn, and it builds in a way that keeps you going back for another bite. Then I tried the shrimp and grits and had a small crisis about which one I liked better. Still haven't settled it. The grits were creamy, the shrimp had real seasoning, and I cleaned the plate. Fair warning: none of this food is for anyone on a diet. That's the point. Come hungry, wear the forgiving pants, and let somebody else count things for the day.

The chicken was delicious and the pancakes were out of this world. Similar to some of the other comments, it would be nice to first come in, sit down, get relax then have someone take your order when dining in. However you place your order at the front door and then can sit down. The customer service lacked tremendously from the youthful stuff(late teens/very early 20's) But I will say the most underwhelming thing about this experience was the building. Inside & out it was very primitive & just flat out old. I know they just moved from another location and looking to get their foot in the door. But hopefully a renovation is in the plans. The inside is a bit of an eye soar. Needless to say, I would come back if in the area because of the food. But I wouldn't go out of my way patronize them.

The fries are so good that they're worth the trip on their own! It's a small place, so I'd recommend getting there early to beat the crowd. One word of caution: go easy on the hot sauce. I loved that the pickles and onions were diced so you could taste them in every bite. The cheese was *very* melted though, basically liquid, which was a little strange. I personally prefer when it's a bit thicker and there's a little more of it. My niece got the buffalo fried chicken sandwich and they did not skimp, it was basically a whole chicken thigh. She wasn't a big fan of the blue cheese, but otherwise liked it. For the sides, I'm from the South so the mac & cheese was a little underwhelming for me, but the fries were good and the strawberry shake was a solid dessert. We ordered delivery so I can't speak to the vibes, but I'd definitely try it in person sometime.
