Delicious sandwiches with fresh ingredients on hearty Italian bread. Friendly and fun service. The restaurant is small inside with a patio in the back.

Soluri & Sons just popped up on Halsted, and I was excited to have a local italian deli close by. Stopped in and was greeted by the owner who was very nice. This placed looks like it has been here forever. Ordered an Italian sub to go. For $7, I was willing to give it a shot. Deli meat is sliced fresh right there, and everything is served inside a fresh italian bread (which is your typical hard bread). I enjoyed the sub, but wish it had more meat. While eating my sub, I couldn't help but think of Bari's sandwiches. Not only is Bari's cheaper, but more is provided and taste is comparable between these two establishments. If Soluri's was $5, I'd be here all the time. I'm all for supporting a good, local business, but there has to be some value too. On a side note, Soluri & Son's sells their own giardiniera (mild and hot), which I was tempted to try. Maybe next time!

    Classic old school deli.

Busy carry out business for a sunny Saturday. But just sitting at one of the few stools available for eating in is worth the wait. Will update review after I try one. But I asked about party trays and I gestured wide arms and said they were $25 for a 3 footer that could be cut and put on a tray.

New hours, but they don't update on yelp, I waited an hour :)

Apparently they have new hours, but they don't update on Yelp or Grubhub, so I placed my order and paid, then came to their store. And I waited an hour in my car. If you don't take care of your business, I would go to Cathy's Deli. Every time. And I will tell each one of my family and . Everyone.

Yummmm so glad this deli sandwich place is new to Bridgeport! My go to spot from now on! Walked in with my brother and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owner (very nice guy) who told us to go out back to try their spicy homemade sausage! The heat and spices were definitely there so we ordered the spicy sausage and spicy Italian to go! Each sandwich goes from $6-$8 ish dollars which is worth because they pack your sandwiches good with sauces and other condiments! The spicy homemade sausage was a little too spicy for me but it was still good. The spicy Italian was packed so neatly, nothing fell out when I bite into my sandwich. Very even amount of lettuce, mayo, cheese, slices of salami & pepperoni, and peppers. The bread for both sandwiches were crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. There is street parking around & you don't have to pay which is awesome! One sandwich will fill you up! Its about a foot long sandwich.

Italian beef good size, ordered dry, sauce on the side.

Friendly, nice place to eat, this is a must try! Cute yard to sit and eat outside and small counter space inside. Food and deli. ITALIAN Beef sandwich was good (on the saltier side) with a nice twist to the Au jus sauce on the side. I think the sauce had a bit of tomato sauce thrown in. I added hot giardiniera condiment (hot is mild, not very hot) for .50 cents. It was very flavorful and a very good size with a lot of meat. $7.99 + .50. Nice fresh Soft Italian bread. I don't know if I would order again. I liked, but did not love. Definitely worth a try, very tasty, I'm use to flavor like Portillos. FYI: this is the new up and coming neighborhood. The city planned on spending $18 million on new streets, water pipes, street lights, and sidewalks. You can feel safe since the street is vey bright at night. I wish my Mom had a bit more time to see what she hoped and envisioned for the neighborhood. Street parking...not always parking, you might get lucky earlier in the day.

With a recommendation like that, I was ready to try anything. Parking can be a challenge in Chicago, but they had a lot in the rear of the restaurant, which was nearly empty. I strolled around to the front and walked in. I wasn't ready for it to be a cafeteria-style eatery, but it really didn't matter. The ambience was kind of cute. Lots of black and white tiles for a retro feel and some historical pictures of the founder. I ordered the 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup lunch special. Matzah ball was my choice of soup and my half sandwich looked huge. I was ready. I tasted the soup first. The broth was clear, and the matzah ball was large. I like hard matzah balls and soft, so it didn't matter to me which it was. What surprised me was the lack of chicken soup flavor. The matzah ball was spongy and not particularly tasty. On to the sandwich. The first thing I noticed was that the carver didn't pull a chunk out of a steam cabinet. They had a slicing machine running constantly forming a mound from which the carver grabbed a handful of corned beef, then a handful of pastrami, which had already been sliced and griddled to add to the corned beef. I asked about the smallest size side of chopped liver they could offer and he gave me a tiny chilled dose sized cup of liver pulled out of the fridge. So far I wasn't impressed. The chopped liver tasted very good but it was hand chopped and in large pieces with very little schmaltz. The sandwhich wasn't anything special. Not hot, not piled and the pickle was a kosher dill, not a half sour. I left half of my half sandwich, the pickle (except for the one bite), and even some chopped liver. For the cost of this average lunch , I would have rather eaten at my favorite deli in Atlanta and had tongue which wasn't even on the menu at Manny's.

It was refreshing to come to a deli that didn't have an overwhelming menu. When it was my turn to order, the interaction felt very personable. It came as a great recommendation! We didn't have it for a while since we live the low-carb life but were thrilled to learn they do a "sub in a tub". I love their tuna salad/sub. Their bread is soft, back when I could eat it. They don't overfill it with mayo either and add some mild peppers or hot on request. I like that they don't have onions at the deli so it doesn't overpower everything else. My husband typically loves the club.
