a bowl of noodles and vegetables

After being under the weather with the flu all I wanted was a bowl of really good pho, due too the icy roads traveling to Seattle for my preferred Pho wasn't an option. I read the reviews of In And Out Pho, I gave it try because hey I've been sick ANY pho will be perfect; nope. I can't even explain but the broth was just a NO, I can't take off too many stars because I know having the flu impacts taste sensory. Aside from taste, two dishes were incorrect. On a positive, I greatly appreciate that this business was open on a day MOST businesses chose to stay close, and yielded speedy service.

Decided to try a rice dish since I wasn't in the mood for pho. My partner did get Pho which was great for him. The portion size for the Orange chicken was great. It's the same price as a bowl of pho. But for taste/texture I give it 6/10. It wasn't sweet enough and was deep fried for too long - it was too hard and crunchy to bite into. No one will beat Panda Express on orange chicken lol.

I absolutely love the pho 175 in woodinville and I'm not sure if it's the same owners but standards were definitely nowhere near as good as the one in woodinville. Pho: came out warm... no where near hot enough. I put the bean sprouts in right when the pho came out and they were still hard towards the end. Usually they cook in the hot soup and become more soft! Also the soup was not able to cook the meat so the meat was also still pretty pink by the end. Also, The noodles were WAY overcooked, almost like you could just swallow without biting the noodles. The flavor of the soup was okay, a little bit too salty but It was good. The flavor definitely reminds me of the pho 175 in woodinville but just more salty. Also, they charged 1.00 for extra limes which is very expensive for giving us just 2 extra limes. They also did not say anything about the 1.00 up charge before ordering which I definitely think they should do because that's not typical of pho places to do. Fried rice: the fried rice was actually very good. Lots of flavor and they definitely dont skimp out on the meat! We got a house combo which came with beef , chicken and shrimp. Kind of tasted more like a Chinese fried rice as opposed to the typical Vietnamese/thai fried rice but nothing wrong with that in my eyes. I would definitely order this again. I'm not sure if I would come back to this place... probably not for the pho but definitely the fried rice!!

One of the best pork fried rice i ever tasted in a long time bit portion lots or protein and their hot chili oil is beyond expectation

If you're in the mood for a basic place where they do everything right, you can probably round up a star. In long This has been at least one other sports bar, and you might be surprised how big it is inside. There's a decent amount of parking, and a ton of reliable places to eat also surround this lot. I came in to check out Husky hoops yesterday afternoon, which nobody around here was showing since it was on a streaming platform. The place was empty when I showed up 'cause it was way between lunch and dinner, so I got to chat with the cool bartender a bit. She had already scoured their channel guides to see which local teams she'd be able to show, so we shared a cheerful grumble about how you can't just get one subscription to cable anymore and see all your teams' games. I didn't get the sense she was a sports dork like me, so she was doing this so she could do a good job at work. I like that!@ This place from the outside looks like it might seat about 25, but the reality is that it's several times that big. Dozen pool tables scattered around, plenty of room for everybody to line up shots. Couple dozen TVs. Huge horseshoe-shaped bar going from the middle of room to the back corner, lots of stools. You can see a few nice choices for spirits here and there. Full bar for sure. Beers are a little on the industrial side, probably no wines. She mixed a decent old-fashioned for me, but asked multiple questions about how I liked it. I really loved how detailed she was with everything--which games are on, which drinks they have, how to make them, how they serve their food. She didn't seem like the owner (I don't think) but she knew the whole place like the back of her hand. I had a prime rib dip, which was just the sandwich you want when you can have a little cheat. Good chewy onion rings that didn't pull apart after one bite--you get batter and onion, both, every time. Jus was good, meat was tender, bread had a nice chew to it. The chef puts his name on at least one dish, and the bartender went on about how much scratch cooking he does. I asked if she recommended something specific, and she rattled off half the menu. This is definitely a place where you can happily eat during the game. I was out the door with a meal and a drink for under $30, which is an amazing value these days.

Food was pretty good - just selected a few of their appetizers; my favorite was the fried dumplings! Spam Masubi was just ok, kinda dry - I'm used to there being a bit of eel sauce beyond just the spam glaze, but I'd try it again! The Mac salad could have used some salt and pepper. Note: they did offer me S&P, so I could have spruced it up myself & I understand wanting to cater to majority tastes - nonetheless I found it to be a bit bland. Multiple Tv screens. Looks like a good place to catch a game with friends. Overall, will be back!

The Twisted…read moreLimed didn't make a good first impression back then both in service and most definitely the menu. But here we are, 2025 and with time to kill decided to give this neighborhood watering hole another go. First off, since we were there during the day it wasn't too busy which was kinda nice. Because it's kind of a small pub it would be horribly crowded, even with their outside seating on a busy Friday or Saturday night. Lotsa T.V. with sports and nice island-style tunes with a noise level where you can have a conversation w/o having to repeat yourself or yell. Service was good, mostly due to the time of day, light crowd, so we were able to sit where we wanted, given menus, ordered drinks. Our server was personable, made regular check ins and food time from order to service was perfect. Now what motivated me to write this review was mainly because of the food. Because honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. With the Island /Hawai'i thing being their theme, some of their menu that reflected that. So I decided I'd give some of my island favorites a try, of course with some lowered expectations. I mean I've eaten at some local island/Hawaiian places here in Western Washington run by islanders that were subpar and some cases bad. The meals I gauge would the loco moco and spam musubi. So at the Twisted Lime, that's what ordered. Wifey had a big ol' plate of their Nacho Mama. Her take, loved it. Perfect as not so much stuff on it to make the chips all soggy, go good amount of toppings, nice crisp chips and the guacamole, super tasty. My meal, I was pleasantly surprised. The musubi was excellent. That being a good SPAM to rice ratio, nice strip of nori and good flava. In case you wonder, most good musubi should have a piece of SPAM at least 1/2 thick, and rice 3x that. Place that cheap out give a sliver of SPAM and a butt-ton of rice. Examples of poorly made musubi: the ones they make at Town and Country Market in Mill Creek and Marination at T-Mobile. If you like 'em from those places, good on you. But if you ever had a well made, well proportioned one, you'll never go back. Examples of local perfect musubi: Sushi Spott so far has my number one spot, but Hawaiian Sun in Everett, and as of this review, Twisted Lime has damn good musubi. Now for their Loco Moco. First off, damn fine presentation, second off, "ONO GRINDZ". I wouldn't say broke da mout, but pretty damn close. Good proportions of rice, good amount of gravy with good flava, two beef patties, also with good flava and a nice egg over-easy. My only comments are, 1. For their loco moco price ($18), only one egg? I know that most loco mocos I've made or ordered, standard (especially in Hawai'i), two eggs brah! 2. If you wanna do the whole Aloha theme, Hawaiian mac is a standard/complementary side of any Hawaiian meal. Not something to be added to the price. Any plate lunch includes Hawaiian mac. Seriously, Google Search images. Kinda like burgers, fries should always be included, so bravo to the places that do that and shame on the ones that charge over $10.00 for a burger and don't include fries. 3. For a neighborhood bar, I'm surprised it isn't family friendly for a time. Example, the Savage Moose in Kenmore, sports bar, FF until 2100 hours. 4. No smoking or vaping in the outdoors seating? It's.....outdoors. It's not like you're out there for the view unless you enjoy the view of other businesses and a neighborhood street. But whatever. Bottom line, the food tasted good and didn't disappoint. Good solid service (can't speak to when it gets crazy busy). Star lost on the above comments, but otherwise I would definitely go there again. If anything I'm now curious of how their Kalua Pork is, comparatively speaking to what I know is good Kalua Pork.
