I went with the teriyaki chicken, not because I wanted teriyaki chicken specifically, but because I looked at a menu full of dishes I wasn't confident I could pronounce correctly and made a strategic retreat toward something I could say out loud without flinching. With that said, the teriyaki chicken was really good. The rice that came with it had a unique flavor that I couldn't quite put my finger on, but it wasn't prototypical rice flavor. Chelsea, who joined me for lunch, ordered with the calm of someone who has never once worried about being judged by a server for saying a word wrong, which is its own kind of privilege I don't have. She grabbed some spring rolls and pho. I admire her ability to order food with the correct pronunciation. The chicken was good, glazed and a little charred at the edges, served adjacent to rice with a small pile of vegetables that were clearly there to make me feel like I'd made a balanced choice. The food pyramid was well-represented. I know Pho 39 does actual pho, the thing in the name, the thing I came here presumably to experience. I hate to give a one star. I ordered two sandwiches. There was one table of customers. After 45 minutes still no food while numerous tables seated and sandwiches served. When I asked for my money back the cashier went to make the sandwiches himself without washing his bare hands. After I said something he put on gloves but it was too late. They gave me a refund. Pho 39 brands itself as an Authentic Vietnamese Eatery. The restaurant shares space with a Japanese style grill and steakhouse. Based on the server, Pho 39 opened about six months back. The name is appropriate. Pho 39 is largely about Pho and they seem to do it quite well. We had the Brisket and Steak Pho as entrees with a side of fried rice with Chicken. The Pho came out piping hot and was very tasty. The fried rice was just plain bland. Service was great and the owner even stopped by our table to say hello. There is plenty of seating. If in the area, give Pho 39 a try!. read more

My wife and i frequent Pho 39, especially at lunch time. We will usually split a Bahn Mi sandwich, a pork and shrimp summer roll, and a bowl of pho. The food is pretty good. Service can be a bit spotty. Prices are consistent with other nearby Vietnamese restaurants. We live close so we tend to favor this Vietnamese restaurant over others. read more

This place is the bomb. I'm originally from San Diego, and I had access to tons of banh mi shops. I swear I haven't had a proper banh mi in 5-6 years. I have tried a couple places that were super over priced and not good enough for me to ever go back. But oh my god, their sandwiches are so good. It was what I have been looking for. Also had their crispy egg rolls, Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee, all tens. Their fish sauce was probably the best I have ever had too. On another note, the costumer service was great and the restaurant was very pretty and clean! Wish I could give pictures but my husband and I devoured it all. Lol read more

After being in greenville/greer/Spartanburg area, I pho39 is yet the best pho I've eaten. I spent most of my life in southern California, Asian food in So Cal is unbeatable, this is place is almost comparable, just that in So Cal, they give more meats and noodles, other than that this will be my go to pho restaurant!!! read more

Wow, this place is awesome! Wanted to try something different and Vietnamese was certainly different! The shrimp/veggie rolls were a meal unto themselves and the presentation was so artistic that I didn't want to ruin it. Not sure what my pho dish was called but it provided 3 full meals and was magical. Many dishes to try still! All, very fresh and presentation is an art form. Once renovations are completed, this place will be visually beautiful and tasteful. The food is really good. I got the shrimp tempura as an appetizer and the brisket pho for lunch. Growing up in Vegas where we have all types of Ramen and Pho houses, this place fills the void for some good pho. Will for sure come back next time I'm in Greenville. read more

As good as it gets. The pho was wonderful. Plentiful toppings and the Pho was hot. A gentleman who i assume is the owner made me a wonderful sauce to dip.
