It was a pretty disappointing meal for me, when I got there nobody greeted us for like 3 minutes then they came to tell us sit down wait to be seated when there is 5 tables open, so we waited another 5 minutes. Ok then we ordered chicken wings, spring rolls, and specialty pho 815. The spring roll was good the sauce was fire, the chicken wings on the other hand wasn't fully cooked it was bloody red inside, but they changed the wings for us and gave an extra free order but it was over cooked the second time, the pho was a big serving but the noodle was in a whole GLOB! And the thin raw meat on top was supposed to be cooked when it gets in the soup but the soup wasn't hot so I just had couple pink meat sitting in my bowl (which it took 40 minutes to get the ph0) I asked the server isn't the meat supposed to turn color when it gets in the soup she was just like yea :) I give 2 stars only bc the taste is pretty good. read more

Got a serious virus infection after eating there! Have been sick for a week and still is coughing. They didn't turn on there air when the weather was hot. Very small space had too many people, no air circulation at all. Saw a server was carrying a child inside the kitchen, not sure what to think. Extremely limited menu and no vegetarian options. I'm used to other similar style restaurants in the area having a much larger menu with a variety of rice and noodle dishes as well as more seafood, vegetarian, and tofu options. Most of the menu was beef or pork, with one shrimp dish and a saradine bahn mi sandwich as the seafood options. Had an order of crab Rangoon and left. read more

Fantastic food and friendly/helpful service. I had the Pho 815 Special for lunch there today and there are no signs of opening day kinks, other than not having take away menus yet. The food is fresh, scratch made, and took a reasonable amount of time to arrive. I also tried the crab rangoon and it was very good (could always use more crab). Decor is modern and very clean. Nice clean atmosphere. Super friendly and attentive staff. I had the Pho with beef and meatballs along with the egg roll appetizer and hot jasmine tea. The tea was just right, floral and tasty. The egg rolls were served piping hot along with dipping sauce and were cooked perfectly. The Pho dish was a generous serving of noodles, large pieces of thinly sliced beef, and Vietnamese style meatballs and green onions. Of course I topped it off with bean sprouts, basil leaves and fresh lime juice. The flavors were absolutely delicious! Subtle yet pronounced flavors came alive with every bite. The broth by itself was very flavorful. I couldn't remember the last time I enjoyed a Pho dish quite like this one. Everything really hit the spot and more than filled me up. What a wonderful surprise to find this place on our trip back from Chicago. The first thing you notice is the beautiful decor when you walk in. The fresh spring rolls were twice as big as what I was used to seeing and the A1 soup on the menu was unbelievable! Thank you so much. Passing through Rockford and saw they had Bahn Mi. So, I stopped by for one. Best decision of the day! I generally can't find a decent Bahn mi unless I'm in the uptown area. So I'm a local foodie with a blog and a passion for food albeit that certainly doesn't make me an expert but I left disappointed in this place. My hobby (and that of my friends) is trying new restaurants in the area so we'd been biting at the bit to try this place out as we LOVE pho. Its a whopping 1 degree out so it was the perfect lunch opportunity! PROPS for decor, service, and apps. We had the crab rangoons (sweeter) and the shrimp egg rolls that were as if they came from the motherland themselves! Well balanced as far as ingredients, fried evenly, and served with flavorful, complimentary sauces. It fell apart for me when the pho arrived though. I ordered the pho 815 Specialty which specified that it came with all "the trimmings". I assumed that meant the sprouts/jalapenos/limes/basil however it was to be interpreted as "fully loaded" with tripe, meatballs, and rare beef. Unfortunately, the sight of tripe turns my stomach but I removed it and dug in anyway because im hardly going to let that stop me. The pho was not nearly hot enough to adequately cook the beef and to make matters worse, the beef was left in large slices and ended up being 2/3 fat. I ended up just finishing the noodles and sipping the broth which was in par with what i expected. I think the menu needs to spell things out a little better. If a foodie veteran like myself messed that up, I imagine it happens often! Unfortunately, I wont be back as there as 2 other Pho options in town that make my foodie heart flutter! read more

We decided to stop here for a late lunch (1pm) to celebrate a birthday. It was selected by a member of my party who suggested it since we've already been to Pho Square and we wanted to try a new place. Bless him, for he did not read all of the reviews. Otherwise we would not have ever came to Pho 815. It is modern in decor, minus the oddly placed home dehumidifiers and stack of Christmas decor in the corners plus the weird pictures of random Vietnamese models on the walls. It was very clean. The sign on the door says "Please Wait to Be Seated" but the waitress (Jenelle Evans from Teen Mom 2 look alike) muttered about sitting anywhere. We sat and went over the menu. The waitress took our drink order and forgot to bring my husband his Diet Pepsi. This was off to a bad start considering he didn't even order water and that's what she brought. We ordered the shrimp rolls, that are actually egg rolls with one shrimp stuck in them and tail hanging out, served with what appeared to be broth for a sauce. They were good, but nothing special and pretty odd with the tail thing and only one shrimp per roll. The Pho was delivered within 3 minutes of the appetizer. Flavorless. Disgusting. That about sums it up. After reading the reviews here myself after the meal, I discovered I had TRIPE in my pho. It wasn't on my menu listing of the item, as I would have very much not gotten the 815 bowl, but yep. Tripe. Meat in general was just gross. It tasted freezer burned and was very, very poor quality. The broth was basically water. Husband's order was wrong but we didn't say anything and just kept it. We ate what we could and left the rest. We contemplated where to stop afterwards so we could actually eat lunch. The highlight of my trip was watching the baby (maybe 4 months old) be taken from its car seat where it had been for quite some time, and then left laying unattended several times on the bench of a booth while it kicked and moved around. It wouldn't have taken much more movement for the baby to have fallen on the floors. I even gasped in shock. I have kids. You don't do that kinda stuff with a baby who is just emerging in their rolling skills. Someone - presumably it's father - did come check on it and mom came back eventually too...back and forth several times. I think this was an owner and maybe his American and extremely young wife. I was ready to go and go we went. AVOID 815. It is just not good at all. The service is mediocre. The food is abhorrent and an affront to real quality pho in the area. The location is garbage. Pretty dining area minus the weird canvas pics of the model. Pandora blaring for music that was 1) picked by Jenelle Evans and the barely legal mom 2) was not a paid subscription for a business subscription so have fun with the repercussions of that issue. With a strict as the health department is, I'm surprised this place is even open. read more

We want there the 2nd week they were open. Air was broke, long wait and the boy that was helping wait on tables clearly had no experience with doing this. He ran around a lot the entire time we were there but didn't carry anything, serve anything or clean anything, It was both distracting and annoying. My husband and I felt really bad for the waitress who was doing all the work. When my meal came out they had to substitute some of the meats because they had ran out. Tasted ok but both my stomach and my husband's felt bad immediately after and we had different dishes. For now I'd say if you want Pho, go to the one on Riverside and skip this one for now. Hopefully they will get their act together and we'll give them another shot in 6 months or so. read more

Needed a bite to eat on drive back from O'Hare to Wisconsin and found this on Yelp. Friendly and prompt service. Shared a spring roll with a delicious peanut sauce as well as the Pho Specialty and their fried rice special. Both were excellent although my husband and I both preferred the fried rice. Would go here again if it were closer. I recommend giving it a try. read more

Went there for lunch for the first time today. I had crab ragoons for appetizers. They were delicious but the wonton used seemed maybe a little to big. But that is such a minor complaint. I then had the Pho Tai for my meal. It's beef broth with beef in it. The broth was delicious, even before adding the extra garnishes for taste, the beef in it was also very good and there were plenty of noodles. I've seen people complain that the noodles were a huge mass in the bowl and this is accurate, That changes though. When you add you garnishes and mix them up with the noddles that mass gets broken up. Over all everything was very good and I'll definitely go back. I went on an empty stomach and over tired and now several hours later I'm still full. I went around 1PM. It was extremely dead. I was 1 of 3 people dining in. There were several to-go orders while I was there, The Waitress who took care of me greeted me almost immediately and was very friendly. I give it 3 stars because I still don't know how it will be there when its busy or with more people other than myself. But I repeat, the food was wonderful and I will return. The menu is not very extensive, I am disappointed at the lack of pho choices, I was hoping they would have a beef tripe or honeycomb option. For the price it's not very good value, after all it's close to $10 a bowl of pho and the small portion doesn't really justify the price. There is no denying, the food here is outstanding! Their egg rolls are the best in town and their specialty fried rice is amazing! The portions are huge and the food is fresh and delicious. The one BIG issue I have had several times- is when ordering carry out. You will always be told that the food will be ready for pick up in 15 or 20 minutes. The food is never ready when they say and the time is always double what they said it would be. This is very inconvenient, especially when you have a limited lunch hour. It appears they do not actually start the order until you arrive. If that is the case, then they must let people know. Maybe they have been burned, with people not coming to pick up their order. Regardless, you cant run a carry out this way. I have noticed other people have had the same experience and reviewed as such. Please correct this, as I am sure it is causing you to lose business and people won't order with you again. Love the food but hate the wait. read more
