It's not like it was super busy yet us took over 10 minutes just to place our order. We ordered the following items. Even then it took around 15 mins to get our food. 1). Two pork & shrimp egg rolls. They were tasty but were burnt. (2 stars ) 2). My stand by shrimp egg foo yung. Tasty as always Very good (4 stars ) 3). Combo platter - called No 1 dish in the World? How & why? The dish had, chicken, shrimp, peapods, tomato's, & beef . The beef in the dish had a rancid taste. I should have sent this back (1 Star ) Service was very slow between ordering, receding the food & waiting to receive the check (2 stars )) Usually we come at lunchtime where the price difference between lunch & dinner is huge). The lunch is a much better deal for the same dishes). This restaurant usually has decent quality food but if I come back it will be for lunch & not dinner as the price point is much more affordable.

There are great restaurants…read morefor international food because of the embassies and their employees who know the difference between great dishes and what I refer to as McDonald's Chinese. We ate Nani Restaurant's dinners on Monday. Their seafood hot and sour soup was one of the best hot and sour soups I have eaten outside of D.C. My wife enjoyed their General Tso Chicken and I enjoyed their Kung Pao Chicken dinner. Our only disappointment was the lack of fried rice. We chose takeout. Our dinners were ready when I arrived and the reception was great. We will return.

Food 4/5 Service 2.5/5…read moreAmbiance 3.5/5 Nani Restaurant is one of the only places in Madison for dim sum, which also means I have high expectations for it. The food itself isn't bad - I actually quite liked a lot of the flavors of the dishes I got. I think what truly brings this review down is the poor service I get. There aren't usually many people here, but service is always at a crawling pace - it takes forever to even get a water, and then a second eternity to place an order. Dim Sum is also renowned for its cart service - but I suppose only busier places have this luxury. Nani only has a paper menu that you can order from straight from the kitchen - by no means a poor experience, but a far cry from the true dim sum experience. Again, the food is actually quite nice, but the lack of quality service, somewhat empty atmosphere, and no cart service makes this place a far cry from a real dim sum experience.
