As someone who lived in SoCal for years and was spoiled by incredible, authentic Vietnamese food, Pho 888 just didn't cut it. We ordered the Chicken Bánh Mì and the Chicken Vermicelli Bowl. The chicken in both dishes was supposed to be lemongrass, but it tasted entirely like curry and was bright yellow from turmeric. The bánh mì was a major miss--the bread wasn't a baguette, the pickled veggies were just sweet instead of tangy, and it inexplicably had lettuce on it. The vermicelli bowl was okay, but it completely lacked the fresh, herbaceous pop you expect from a traditional bowl. It's not horrendous, but it's definitely not authentic. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for the real deal. read more

I'm sad doing a so-so review because this place is normally awesome. We got take out for the first time and it's night and day different compared to eating in restaurant. The peanut chicken is literally 1/4 the size and the orange chicken has zero sauce, making for a very dry chicken the kids refused to eat. Lesson learned, go in to eat, not take out. read more

Pho 888 is more than just pho-don't let the name fool you. They have a robust menu of Asian-inspired cuisine and everything I tried was delicious. The food is fresh and the portion sizes are plenty. My mom and I shared an order of beef and broccoli and still had some left over for later. read more

Wow! Huge portions of delicious food. The V3 Honey Glazed Pork Vermicelli was my jam! My husband really enjoyed the P1. Crispy Pork Belly with the Chili jam and basil. The only change I would make would be to order both on the default level of "medium." We chickened out and went with "mild," and I found myself wishing for a little spicy kick. The interior is well decorated, clean, and spacious. The vibe is takeout or sit down and be served. Our waitress was smiley, fast, and helpful. We don't live nearby, but I would come back for that vermicelli! read more

Finally something closer to home instead of having to drive down to Salt Lake county! Since they've been open, we've gone once a week lol! For appetizers, we have the fresh spring rolls, chicken wings, hakaw, and egg rolls. The spring rolls, HOLY COW. They are huge and filled!! Chicken wings weren't our fav. It was a little too soy sauce-y and sweet. The egg rolls aren't bad but they don't use the traditional egg roll wraps. They use the spring roll wraps and fry it. Hakaw, you just can't mess up. It's been hitting the last few times we've gone. It's soo good. Obviously we have to get the pho. We've had the meatballs, ox tail, combo, seafood, and shrimp pho. They do not skimp on the meats & seafood. You will for sure have plenty! You get a plate of bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños and lime. Speaking of lime, they give you HALF a lime which I am so grateful for. Other places give you just slices and it's not enough. The jalapeños is SPICY! Definitely cleared our sinuses. We have also tried the chicken chow mein. We weren't huge fans...it was sweet and chicken was on the dryer side. We do want to go back to try other items like the vermicelli bowls and lettuce wraps. Just a heads up, if you get just water to drink, it is lemon water. I know some don't like lemon water... Overall, we really like Pho 888. So glad it's close to home. Also, the owner is so so cute! I woke up pretty sick so what better lunch to get than Pho!? This is actually my first time trying it ahah but it was SOOO good. I am not the best judge since I have nothing to compare it to. I got it to go and this is how they packaged it, very lovely. First off, the crab rangoons were better than most I've had so that was a good start. The broth was already pretty flavorful but it comes with house sauce, red chili sauce, and red chili flakes. I got the steak pho and it came with a healthy portion of meat and lots and lots of noodles. I liked this packaging since I was able to save half for later. Wow, what a great find! We live in South Jordan and found ourselves hungry on a Saturday afternoon after we picked up some tamales a local resident had made for us. A quick scan of Yelp led us here, and we're so glad it did! The restaurant itself is welcoming and clean, and the peaceful music made for a calm atmosphere - a welcome escape from the rushed world outside. The service couldn't have been better, with our personable, cute and attentive server who was very patient with the length of time it took us to decide on which delicious offering to order. Speaking of delicious, this word perfectly describes our food: Pineapple Fried Rice with shrimp and Spring Rolls with shrimp, which came with an attractive presentation. I'm so happy with the addition of so many new restaurants Saratoga Springs. Pho 888 adds to the variety of options that we now have in the area. There really is something there for everyone with Chinese and Thai inspired menu options in addition to the Vietnamese dishes. We tried the Pho, Vermicelli (bun), and the chicken wings. Everything was delicious. The pho stock is rich, sweet, salty, and aromatic. The vermicelli has an abundance of fresh vegetables (cucumbers, lettuce, cabbage, and mint) and the glazed pork was very lean (maybe too lean). It was very good. The chicken wigs were full of flavor and simply amazing. Service was friendly, quick, and efficient. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. read more

Saratoga Springs is apparently a great place for vietnamese food. The noodles in my bun were a bit thicker than usual, but all was great- the lemongrass chicken and egg roll salad was huge, super fresh and included mint. I'll be back...if I ever make it back out to the brand new development on the west side of Utah lake. Best pho I've had in a long time. I got the Tofu pho and everything about it was perfect. My husband got the Ribeye pho and the first time he tried the broth, all he said was "Whoa. This is great!!" The fresh spring rolls were a bit meh - the peanut sauce wasn't a standard peanut sauce, it was more of peanut flavor with maybe soy sauce and hoisin, but the main event was the pho and it was spectacular! Will be back to try other dishes, but it'll be hard to do since I'd keep ordering the pho every single time. Their chili oil is also wonderful and combining that with the sriracha made for a perfect dish. read more

Dang, I was so excited to have a new Vietnamese food place in SS. Unfortunately, it's not authentic. Owners and cooks are Thai so they throw their own flare onto Vietnamese dishes, which doesn't ruin them per se, but it eliminates traditional Vietnamese taste. The banh mi are very not authentic and not good. The veggies aren't pickled and the "mayo" is very runny. Also, no pate in any of the banh mi. Very little protein too. Pho soup is too sweet, and the noodles were overcooked. I wouldn't be surprised if the Thai dishes here are good, but I can say for certain that the viet food is not so. This restaurant presents itself as a viet pho restaurant but that's not really what it is. It's a viet/thai place, but much more so Thai. Service was okay. Place was messy. They had multiple tables with stacks of dirty dishes on them, as if they sink in the back couldn't handle anymore. read more

Meh. For 9 bucks you mostly get a lot of stale bread with the banh mi and very little meat. I saw another review which noted that the owners are a Thai family and concur that what they offer is very far from Vietnamese fare & heavily modified to Americanized-Thai tastes. Little aromatic flavor at all, and not much besides spice heat on the rubbery chicken. The bread is a hoagie loaf, not a Vietnamese baguette. Sub-par. They do serve oxtail w/pho and I asked if I could get it in the banh mi but apparently that was beyond their kitchen staff's ability. Of note, their ox tail pho comes at a $6 markup and they simply didn't have the sense to take the request as an opportunity to sell me a banh mi for six extra bucks... You're better off at Viet Deli down the road except that Pho 888 is open on Sundays. I'll go back to try the Pho but I doubt I'll bother with their sub sandwiches again. Also, caveat emptor - their point of sale suggests a minimum 18% tip even for take out. It has custom tip as an option, but my sense is that these folks are just in it for the love of money, and not for the respect of their food. read more

The staffs were really nice and attentive but this place gave me food poisoning. The dish I had there was grilled pork vermicelli, the only thing me and husband didn't share for the past few days. The pork tasted like it's either frozen for a very long time, thawed poorly, or something is just wrong with the meat. The texture doesn't taste like pork or any meat I had before. I had some of the dish, found a piece of hair, later decided to induce vomiting in the bathroom because I don't trust the pork. With that being done I still got bad food poisoning the next day. Side note: a white male customer made us salute to him before leaving the restaurant. As much as we respect veterans, it still felt weird since we were the only Asian customers in the store and he came up to only us. read more

The food is okay. Not great, not bad. The Pho is not even close to as good as the local competition so there really isn't any point in ordering Pho here. The restaurant is clean and service is good, but they're are far better options around for Vietnamese cuisine. read more

Finally a Pho place in UT county/Saratoga that is fresh, clean and delicious! Highly recommend.

Went here on Saturday with a family of five. We ordered the fried calamari and curry puff for appetizers, I haven't had calamari in a while but I was surprised how good it was comparing it to San Fran where I grew up. The curry puff was awesome, it was sweet from the puff pastry and curry inside was creamy and super tasty. The sauces for everything was amazing - even if we couldn't pin down what they were. We ordered a bahn mi which was really good and had its own sweet sauce for the pork. The pho meat and seafood combos were really good - both was light with great flavors. I typically prefer ramen over pho but I'll be coming back for more. Our server was extremely kind and attentive and was constantly refilling our water. The location is clean and my wife and I were big fan of the paint and tile choices. Overall this place feels to us like a diamond in the rough we weren't expecting. It's rare of top of all of this that our bill was under 100 for a family of five. We'll be back! read more

Worst pho I've ever had. I was traveling through Saratoga Springs and thought I'd stop and get a bowl of pho to go. I got a container of broth and a box of all the ingredients. It's not terrible, but it does not even taste like pho. I was excited for my wife to taste pho for the first time, but we had to go look for bowls that we could make our own after paying $15 for the ingredients. Sadly, my wife still has not been able to taste pho. I don't know what it would taste like when they make it for you, but I would say under no circumstances should you ever order it to go. read more
