Ordered Pho and Spring Rolls. Service was fast and friendly, however, the menu was very hard to read. Items, prices, options, etc were difficult to understand. Not all options are shown on the TV screens. I would have ordered a fountain drink if I knew it was an option. No music plays, though some of the staff sing quite loudly. Pho soup was good, though it lacked depth of flavor. Pretty good meat/noodle/veg ratio, but it still lacked the layers of flavor I have had at other places. Little disturbing there were no bottles of hosin and siracha available. I got a tiny cup that was only half full, which is not nearly enough. The spring rolls were massive. Though it had a ton of noodles and veg, and not enough meat (shrimp in my case). Peanut sauce was watery. Again hosin/siracha at the tables would have made up for this. This is far from what I would consider an authentic Vietnamese place/food. I would be back to try their vermicelli bowls, though I won't get my hopes up. read more

Cafe Trang is my go-to for pho door dash ordering when someone is sick or it's gloomy outside. They pack it up supremely well and it always comes still piping hot as can be. I love that they offer a kid pho bowl without the veggies in it. My kids love it and ask for it all the time. They always provide all the toppings and it is consistently delicious. The pho was alright. The soup base was pretty good, but I didn't love the texture of the noodles, felt a little soggy. The meat was disappointing. It got fully cooked pretty quick and so was tough. Also a bummer that they didn't have as many options as the typical pho restaurants. The honey glazed grill pork banh mi was good though. Everything I ordered was really good and flavorful. Portions are generous. Especially the SPRING ROLL!! Love how they make it right when you order it. It is the first Vietnamese place I've been where they do that. That's the reason for this review. lol. But the Pho is delicious, the brisket is good quality meat. The pork banh mi sandwich is good. But did I mention the Spring Roll?!??! The service is good because they serve you the food but when I asked for extra brisket (I didn't mind the extra charge) the worker started talking in Vietnamese (with the help of google translate ; ) ) complaining about me asking for extra brisket and happily paying for it!?!?? I don't get it!?! Plus I tipped $8.00 cash!!!! And didn't get a thank you for it!!! The nerves!! But that shouldn't take away from the food! The food is definitely worth it. Which is why I went back for seconds. They have space for you to dine in for a group 7-10 most, or for a small family. I didn't dine in as I ordered to go but if I was to dine-in I would have. But overall I would comeback and still order extra brisket even with the complaint lol. I am a consistent regular here I eat here twice a week with my wife. The food is good but they need to stop being so greedy. First (DO NOT GET EXTA MEAT!!) It is not even considerer a third of extra meat for 3 dollars. When ordering to go they also add an extra .50 cents for microwave safe bowls without asking or having another option. Sure it's not much but adding it without saying anything is kind of a scummy way to slip in extra cost. We are regulars for takeout at Cafe Trang, but after a really rough 24 hours in which our basement flooded and we were left with no running water we were looking to eat at the restaurant. The wonderful people at Cafe Trang allowed us to eat in their restaurant even as they were closing up for the night and it was exactly the nourishment to body and soul that we needed. Came here for a lunch with a couple friends. They seemed to really like the beef pho. I got the honey glazed pork banh mi = so good. I also got the spring roll appetizer and those rolls were huge! Tasted great with the peanut sauce and felt pretty healthy. Got taro smoothies afterwards. I'd guess most would like it with boba if you know what that is. The lychee jelly works great too. The lychee adds to the sweetness though so if you like thst it might be worth a shot. Great location! In the middle of a lot of other great stores and spots nearby. Plenty of parking. Service was good and the dining space was nice. The lights for the side wall seating are staggered a little funny so watch your head when you get up! read more

This is an Okay spot. I think the quantity of food is great for the price but I feel the flavor was lacking. My meal was pretty bland and I was disappointed. I think I may have ordered the wrong combo of things so I want to go back and revisit this review. I ordered Cafe Trang Noodle Bowl with the yellow chicken curry option. Usually curry has such a strong presence but I could not even taste it. So I was left with a bowl of shredded lettuce and rice noodles. My wife's dish was a bit better. Best pho I have had in years! My husband and I actively seek out pho places and have tried most pho restaurants in Northern Utah, and this just took first place in our quest to find the best pho. The restaurant is a fast and casual style with a service counter where they assemble the pho right in front of you. This type of restaurant style makes it really quick to get your food, which is atypical for pho places. It is also cool to see the process of assembling the pho. They also provide you with all of the typical fixings like basil, bean sprouts, sriracha, hoisin, and jalapeños. Make sure you add them -- it adds a lot. The superstar of the pho is the broth. They have a huge pot of broth simmering behind the counter which they painstakingly take the time to let it simmer for a long period. If you know broth, you know the longer the broth simmers the better. You can tell this broth has been done right, they have reduced it perfectly to have a delicious rich flavor. Noodles are cheap, so it seems odd that Trang would substantially reduce the volume of noodles they serve in Pho, but they clearly did. Do some comparison dining, and you'll see that Trang serves far fewer noodles in their Pho than the competition read more

I love the brisket and the broth here! The brisket is so tender and literally melted in my mouth. Love that they gave you an entire plate of Vietnamese herbs and chili. Their mix of oyster sauce and sriracha is also quite perfect there. The only thing I am not quite happy with was the bubble tea! We had an excellent takeout experience from Cafe Trang. We had never been here before, but I was hoping to find a good, local pho spot to ease my under-the-weather blues. Success! We ordered a large Thai Tea (which was almost $6 = expensive!), but it was good and creamy. All the food arrived hot which I know is rare for takeout, and I was extremely pleased and relieved I didn't have to eat cold food. Packaging was secure and nothing spilled or got messy. We tried the Bahn Mi first. You have the option to choose your protein (out of like 10 different ones, including tofu), but the Teriyaki Chicken sounded the best at the time. I would be totally willing to try other proteins next time. For $6.99, this sammich was a deal! The chicken was real, tender chicken chunks. Thank goodness -- I really don't like dry chicken AT ALL. The teriyaki was a great contrast to the pickled veggies on there. It wasn't too heavy, so I was able to enjoy the pho right after no problem. The Pho was excellent! This was definitely my fave outta the three things we ordered. Loved the broth, thinly-sliced white onion, and tender meatballs. They gave us basil and lime, but I wish there was more of it. We used our own lime for the juice, and it is oh-so-worth it! This was the first Pho dish I've had where there seemed to be more noodles than broth, so there was plenty for me and my BF to share. If you're ordering takeout, I would use your own big bowl since the bowl the noodles came in would've totally overflowed. I will definitely be coming back here for my Bahn Mi and Pho fixes for sure! Literally addicted to their honey glazed pork banh mi sandwich! Cafe Trang used to have a food truck on the U campus by the library and I was a verrrry frequent visitor. They had the best deal for a banh mi sandwich and a thai iced tea. I knew at the time that they had a physical storefront as well, but never checked it out because of how convenient the food truck was. Cafe Trang Bistro now has multiple locations across Utah, and I am still just as obssessed with their banh mi sandwich. They pack a decent amount of pork into their sammies and the french baguettes they use are always so soft. Some places have a more crunchy bread for their sandwiches, which I think just ruins it. You gotta have soft bread for a more enjoyable sandwich experience. Cafe Trang also has legit pho. I love meatball pho, I basically get the same thing at every Vietnamese restaurant I go to. Cafe Trang is a more quick and casual type of place, but just as delicious. My husband loves the rice bowls here. One super cool thing about Cafe Trang is that they offer gluten-free egg rolls. Yes, gluten-free! He makes sure to order a couple every time, and they are quite yummy. The boba drinks here are solid. They have a thai green tea here which is probably my favorite drink.
