    One of my favorite places to go to for pho! The staff is extremely nice and it's very clean. The food is always On Point and one of the best in town.

    I hate it when I have to give a somewhat poor review for a restaurant where the service was reasonably decent, but I have to be honest. Besides the service, also on the positive side was a cleanliness grade of "A" which is why we tried this Vietnamese restaurant in the first place place. My wife had grilled beef on Hawaiian leaf. It was horrible. My grilled pork dish, pictured, was OK but would have been better if it was served warmer. The best part of my meal was the Coke. I'll give it a tepid 3 stars because of the reasonable service.

    Table service, casual spot though. The staff is seats amd attends to you quickly. I ordered Pho of course, (Brisket and Shank) My food came out quickly. Many families dining together at other tables , I was sitting by myself. An older lady with her 2 adult sons was starring at me, she asked if I wanted to sit with them. I think I was giving tourist vibes lol. I politely declined but thought it was sweet of her . The shop gives a very neighborly/family vibe and I kind of still regret not joining her at the table, not sure why. The pho was pretty good, earlier that week I had a not so good encounter with a bowl of pho at another restaurant. This one however restored and comforted me. I think this was the largest serving of bean sprouts I was ever offered too. There's a bathroom. Also there is a $15 minimum spend for card.

    Pho Bang continues to be a historical spot makes the food is consistently of same flavor and quality. It is a hole in the wall old school Vietnamese restaurant not much decoration just focusing on comfort food. The pho broth is not as good as in the past but the grilled meat on broken rice consistently is delicious, moist, & simple. My go to for a regular eat.

    Pho Bang is a Vietnamese restaurant in Flushing on 41st Ave and Kissena. It has been around a long time, but I've only been once. They also have locations in other parts of NYC. I went on a recent trip with family and ordered a rice plate. The rice plate was of broken rice and was pretty tasty. We also shared spring rolls and I shared a combo banh mi with my cousin, and the bread was fresh and soft. My wife had a pho with beef balls and they gave a good amount of beef balls compared to other Vietnamese places we went to. The place has a bunch of tables and could accomodate bigger groups on some round tables. They've been cash-only for more recently they've accepted credit cards with a minimum of $15, credit cards there will be a 3% surchage, there won't be a surchage for debit cards. Good place.

    The worst pho I ever had. I ordered the number 1 -- the broth was good and the portion of meat was generous, but the noodles had a weird aftertaste. I asked for jalapeños, and they gave me a container without a small spoon or anything to pick them up. This made me think customers had been using their chopsticks for the jalapeños, which I saw another table using earlier. So I asked for new jalapeños because I didn't want to eat something someone else might have picked from. The waiter took the jalapeños, went to the front of the restaurant, and transferred them onto a small sauce dish. I personally wouldn't have minded paying extra for new jalapeños. It's just gross to eat something another customer might've already touched. Please think about your customers.

    I have been coming to this specific Pho Bang restaurant since I was a baby. I ordered #1 on the menu (an XL size pho bowl), but noticed some differences after eating here for several decades. The soup is a lot less flavorful, which was disappointing. On top of that, every piece of meat was very hard to chew in my soup which makes me believe that the meat we ate was probably very old. Perhaps the kitchen gained a new chef who made soup differently than what I had remembered eating as a child. This specific pho bang location does take credit card, but I believe there is a 3% surcharge so we paid cash instead. I would likely not come back again due to the drastic change in my pho, which was just average pho in my opinion and not the great pho I once grew up eating.

    How I miss Pho in NY!!!! This place has been around as long as I can remember!!!! Busy all the time but moves quickly! Waiters pretty mich been there forever so sometimes they don't even have to write your order down! Loved my pho and spring rolls!!! Can't wait for my next NY stop and come by again!

    This is a no-frills Vietnamese restaurant on Main Street, right across from Queens Public Library. Mostly well known for their variety of authentic noodle soups like pho and rice vermicelli, and meat over stir-fried noodle dishes or rice platters. This location has been here for decades already, long before I've permanently moved to New York. Conveniently located not too far from the 7 train with a short walkable distance of less than 3 mins away. Staff don't greet customers when you go in but I don't feel offended as they're known for their food and not so much for their service. There're already two menus placed on each table along with napkins, the rest of the condiments and utensils like chopsticks, spoons and forks when a staff leads us inside. An elderly employee put down two glasses of iced cold tap water which my friend frowns at that gesture as the weather has gotten pretty chilly and windy outside. So, she asks if we can have two cups of hot tea instead since iced cold water doesn't seem suitable on this cold day. Few minutes later, he returns & brings over the tea to our table. The hot tea doesn't have a strong tea flavor but it's pleasant to just hold it in our hands while waiting for the food. My friend and I have ordered #41 Bún Thịt Nướng (Lemongrass Grilled Pork over Rice Vermicelli Noodles with Shredded Lettuce & Cucumber) [$13.95 x2] and two bowls of their brown-colored pork-bone broth [$3.00 x2] (not listed on the menu). Food doesn't take long to arrive like 10-15 mins. Each bowl of rice vermicelli comes with pre-prepared fish sauce (nước chấm). Both of us like to mix Chinese hoisin (seafood) sauce & sriracha hot chili sauce together to dip the grilled pork in as to give it a spicier kick and slightly sweeter flavor to it. We quickly start digging in but of course the camera gotta eat first lol. Shortly afterwards, we take huge sips of the broth first. The body would feel so warm inside taking spoonful and spoonful of hot soup down our stomach. Even though I dislike how thinly the grilled pork is sliced in width, yet I can't deny that they tend to give lots of meat making it a very generous portion for the order. In other words, it's very worthwhile for your money (bang for your buck). The Vietnamese fish sauce is a classic dipping sauce for meats and/or a perfect final touch to mix with salads giving off a sweet, tangy taste from the vinegar. There're chopped peanuts as the garnish on top of the rice vermicelli noodles. Be sure to carefully clarify/clearly specify and tell your waiter not to put in any if you're allergic to peanuts. But, staff members do heavily emphasize on the "peanut" part as an ingredient at least 2-3 times when/after placing the order. They just want to be on the safe side and double/triple check with you in case if anything happens. While we're still eating, my friend asks the waitress if our cups can be refilled. Moments later, she brings over a medium-size thermos to our table. We then pour ourselves some more hot tea. Such freshly scrumptious, generous and fulfilling food portions that we love to go back from time to time all-year round. We both have enjoyed the food so much. Definitely one of our favorite spots whenever we're craving for a quick, satisfying meal like bone broth + pho or grilled pork over rice!!! We ask for the bill and the total comes out to be $34. One minor thing to keep in mind though, you have to go to the front, ask for the bill and bring it back to your table if you're splitting the bill with other people. If you're paying with credit/debit cards, you can stay there and pay right in the front. Another thing is that, they've recently added a new policy in which you can pay with credit/debit cards unless making a $15 minimum purchase. Otherwise, you can only pay with cash since they'd a "cash only" policy back then before making the switch. My friend and I put down $2 each for tips on the table with the bill calculated as a total of $38 altogether. Then, we start to head out.

    We came here for lunch. I wanted something simple. So we both ordered a rice vermicelli bowl. I had it with grilled shrimp and Hubby had it with beef. They mixed plenty of vegetables with rice vermicelli and grilled shrimp. I liked the dish. I thought it was healthy and simple. The dish was served with a vinegar-type dressing on the side but I only used very little of that just for a taste. The waiter and waitress were friendly. They smiled a lot the entire time. Good! It's a simple restaurant with plenty of space. Nice!

    PRO TIP: CASH ONLY This place has been around since I remembered so.. you know they're doing something right! Always go for the #1 + Summer rolls - they're the best!! I do get the salads on occasions and have tried their deep fried Shanghai noodles. I love them all.. but make sure you ask them to add less salt or it may be overwhelming. It's a no frill kind of place so don't expect spectacular service! Food's amazing but if you want to be treated like a 5* hotel, not the place to go.

I made it a point to have their Crispy Pork Banh Mi before writing a review and while I thought I'd fall in love with it, it's good but not my taste. I was imagining more of a batter fried pork strips situation, a more westernized method of frying meats, but it was the style of pork chunks that's hyper crispy and puffy at the top and layered with gelatinous fat. It was tasty for what it was and not greasy, just not my cup of tea. It's a particular style of pork-- I'd google "heo quay" if you wanna see what I'm talking about. Also I've noticed it's popular with Hispanic males-- I think it has to do with the gristly fat texture. I guess we share that cultural preference. Yay world. I did however fall head over heels for their classic Banh mi. Heavy on the pate which I love, and a fluffy crispy bread, with the right meat-to-bread ratio. My gf took a bite not expecting much and her expression was pure surprise and delight. It's her favorite place to get a Banh mi for the bread now and I'd have to agree. It's a very reliable representation of what makes a Banh mi stand out from other sandwiches. And then there's the vempanadas. It's short for "Viet empanadas" and arguably what made them blow up. My mom made a lot of these growing up and my mom is regarded as the best cook out of like 8 kids and their children, so I like to think I have experience in this matter, and it's tastier than my mom's. To be fair, it's made fairly differently-- my mom makes it with a flakey filo-doughy crust and TBD has a softer more pliable dough-- think corn tortilla vs flour tortilla. I personally like flour tortillas more and you can fight me on that one. The filling is also more savory and rich than my mother's and the little quail egg inside is such welcomed treat. My mom's fillings are more meatball like and TBD's is pastier. Fun fact: this dish has origins tying it to France; the original dish is pate-chaud. If you google that too, you can see the evidence of a flakey texture. I will say, the first time I had it was more flavorful and I think the egg was missing the second time. And lastly I want to talk about the thing keeps me crawling back-- the ches (pudding soup). I've always had a disinterest in Vietnamese che growing up because my western palate always demanded MORE SUGAR but as I age, my tastes demand more subtlety. Che is a general term for a kind of dessert soup, with some sort of ingredient like a bean or jello as the focus and a sweetened liquid; I know "soup" is a bit of a turn off but it's really the closest English term we have. Think more like milk in cereal or melted ice cream. Is there a term for the milk in cereal? Anywho, the che ba mau is the most popular and beginner friendly, it's a mix of 3 sweet ingredients like mung bean, red bean, Pandan jelly in like coconut milk. If you're Filipino, it's the Vietnamese equivalent to Halo Halo. But what's cool about TBD is they have different kinds of lesser known ones I'm currently having fun exploring. There's a mung bean one with a thicker sweet cream on top-- reminds me pie filling. And right now I'm about to dig into a Pandan jelly, grass jelly, in coconut milk, peanuts, and shaved ice. It's a fun ass summer drink dessert. I highly recommend if you're looking for something different and refreshing this summer.

Iced Vietnamese Coffee 8/10 This is a very strong, thick Viet coffee. It has deep dark Cafe Dumont coffee flavor with sweet thick condensed milk. Roughly the equivalent of 4 espresso shots. Vempanada 8/10 This is a very filling, fully stuffed empanada including lots of meat and a quail egg. The outer skin is crispy and relatively thin. I prefer adding sauce to balance the heavy savory flavors and thick meat texture. Crispy pork banh mi 7/10 This type of pork is the Siu Yuk type (roasted whole pig). It has chewy, meaty pork, fatty pieces, thick roasted skin. I think it needs the matching sauce though. Special Banh Mi 7/10 This pate is strong in iron flavor from the liver etc used to make it. The texture is smooth. This sandwich focuses on natural flavor.

No gloves, no tongs, nothing. I was honestly speechless about the hygiene situation. At one point, a waitress brought herself a summer roll, stood right next to our table, grabbed sauce from another customer's table, and started eating while standing there.
