Honestly have no idea what I was eating. I ordered the pho bo kho, and it was horrible. It tasted sweet? I've never had pho that was sweet. It was sweet and oily which is just inedible. I had pho and spring rolls here to go. The spring rolls were great with the sauce it came with, crunchy and nice filling inside them. It went well with the lettuce as well to balance out the fried oiliness of the spring rolls to the refreshing lettuce. The pho was okay, it wasn't amazing but it tasted fine. We've tried their bun bo hue, grilled pork chop noodle soup, curry mixed food noodle soup, char kway teow, peking duck buns, roast duck, roast pork, and scallion chicken. Overall, we found the food at pho hoang pretty average for a spot that's able to serve such a large variety of dishes. I think they do vietnamese style cuisine very well, like their grilled pork chop. The bun bo hue was also better than most places. Their curry noodle soup was decent but is not better than my go to spot (Malay Restaurant). I was very impressed by their char kway teow or House Spicy rice noodle. It had a lot of wok hay flavor that Chinese people love. Their Cantonese BBQ meats were also quite average. After waiting for a bit, a woman came out with one of my order screaming at me that the add on was not allowed. She just started screaming at me for something that was on their own kiosk system. They offer you water or tea to begin with They were relatively busy, but we had to flag someone down to put our order in We both got the pho xe lua which is their house special rice noodle soup with ribeye, brisket, tendon, and tripe. When you order they do ask whether or not you want the bean sprouts already pre-cooked or on the side raw. I prefer them raw. One note, they don't have different sizes of noodle soup I had plenty of leftover and asked them to wrap it up. Pro tip: always ask for them to separate the noodles and the soup when wrapping it up so that the noodles don't continue to cook in the broth and get really mushy and soft When paying the bill, just check the receipt, even with a party of two, gratuity was included and they don't let you know or point it out They do have a more modern set up and the menu has a lot of options and pictures, including Thai and Canto dishes. Went again today and while waiting today I noticed a sign that said gratuity is included for all parties that are dining in. I didn't see this sign last time and I tipped on top of the automatic gratuity last time. Make sure you do not tip twice!! Very shady for a restaurant to include tipping option on receipt when it's automatically tacked on already. This is why I deducted one star. Food was still great and service good but I was just baffled I had tipped 36% last time (18%x2!)
