The service was great. The manager came over and described any dishes if we had questions. I had Shrimp Pho and it was delicious. I put some spicy jelly in it and it had a kick to it but not that harsh. My sister had the vermicelli with shrimp and my BIL had the 4 protein Pho. They both enjoyed their meals. We also had the chicken satay and it did not disappoint. Don't sleep on the Vietnamese Black coffee. Better than any American coffee out there. Very rich flavor. We are pho snobs and this spot blew us away! We were craving viet food on our trip to the poconos and found this spot close to our hotel. We came here family of 4 on Sunday around 4:30. It was empty but filled by the time we left. The inside is bigger than expected with plenty of tables. Service is excellent. There was only 1 waitress and she got very busy as more ppl came in so I hope more staff joins her for prime dinner time. We ordered pho, bahn mi, and wings. The pho and banh mi were excellent. Very authentic. Pho broth is spot on. Flavorful but not heavily seasoned or sweet. Noodles were perfectly cooked. The only thing missing is tripe! The bahn mi had perfect amount of cold cut to pate ratio and the bread was the right amount of soft/chewy. The wings were tasty too, cooked perfectly and not dry which is rare for wings in an Asian restaurant if you know what I mean. Overall such a great spot. Hidden gem in Bethlehem. Went there for pho, which was delicious, will come back to try more menu items. Street/meter parking out front. We were looking for a place in the former steel town of Bethlehem. On a relatively quiet area, we came across the Pho Bowl when looking for the temporarily closed Kinoa. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food which is more Saigon. style. The portions were generous and quality was high. My only gripe regarded the lack of authenticity- the shrimps were peeked and the spring rolls lacked the usual bean sprout and basilkeaf garnish. Furthermore, the Tom Yum sauces was somewhat bland, lacking the usual distinctive lemongrass and citrus flavors likely to please American tastes. They also had popular Thai specialties such as Pad Thai. The service was efficient and the ambience basic but clean. Our family had an extremely upsetting and traumatic experience at Pho Bowl, and I feel it's important to share so other families know what to expect. When we sat down and ordered, we politely asked the first server for two small bowls for our kids. Our food arrived, but the bowls never came. We asked a second server--still nothing. After several minutes, we asked another staff member (later identified as "John") for bowls and forks. He said "wait a minute," but instead he took calls, served other tables, went in and out of the kitchen, and completely ignored us. Despite coming in and out of the kitchen multiple times, he never gave us what we asked him. We again followed up, and that's when everything escalated. John came back with the worst attitude I've ever seen in a restaurant. He threw the fork onto our table and shouted at us, saying we were being rude--when all we did was ask for utensils so our kids could eat. He kept coming back to our table, raising his voice, arguing, and blaming us in front of other customers. At one point he even said he "did not have a name" when I asked for his name. Another staff member later told us his name is John, though we're not even sure if that's accurate. My wife was also ignored multiple times when she asked for bowls and forks. She was even shouted at with, "Can't you see I'm busy?" after waiting patiently. He continued to argue, claiming he was the "best server" and that the issue started when we asked for two tables--which wasn't even true. This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. It completely ruined our appetite and our evening. Not family‑friendly at all. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. read more

So I stopper by this restaurant a few years ago when it was super tiny inside. We're talking four or five tiny tables crammed in one little room. Now they have expanded and there are plenty of room inside for dining in. Everyone is super nice and the portions were decent. The food was decent but I thought it wasn't as flavorful as other Vietnamese restaurants. It's all about the broth. Saying this, perhaps it was just an off day. I'll definitely give this establishment a few more tries to see if they are consistent and if the broth was just off that day. Also, the char grilled beef didn't really have that strong char grilled flavor as expected. It's definitely a hole in the wall as mentioned by others but definitely worth coming to for a bite to eat. Papaya salad was very good. Tom Yum soup too spicy for me , even though only one chili indicater; it tasted more like 2 chilis. I requested napa, carrot and scallions, but there were no mushroom or onion slices, which is how it comes. I also had fried basil rice with chicken in it. I forgot already. Pleasantly surprised how good this place is! More importantly, the staff were very friendly. I just ordered take out but was treated very hospitably. They even opened the door for me on my way out. It's these small details that make me want to come back again. I almost didn't go here because of one terrible Bahn mi review but remembered that a lot of Yelpers are miserable trolls and have nothing better to do but hate on hard-working entrepreneurs. Unfortunately the porkchops were a little too thick and a little too overcooked so it did not lend itself to a good dish. The Phó was tasteless. Got the Phó special the beef was more fat then meat. Chucks of pure fat floating in the bowl. They need to trim the fat off of the beef more. I had a late breakfast elsewhere and wasn't hungry when I went here with my brother, but after the first bite, I couldn't stop eating the beef Pho noodle soup. I ordered the Pho combo with everything in it. The meat was perfectly cooked. The clean flavorful broth transported me back to Los Angeles, where I am visiting from. I eat Pho regularly and have tried many places. This place is legit. It is clean and the staff was very nice and professional. Bethlehem is so lucky to have a place like this here.
