We arrived at 8:21 PM, well before their 9 PM closing time, after driving from New York to visit someone in the hospital. There were still people dining inside and customers just receiving their food, so it clearly appeared the restaurant was still serving. At first, we were told they would make or take food to go only. We explained that after being at the hospital and making a long drive, we were hoping to sit down and eat before heading back. Then, after that conversation, we were suddenly told the kitchen was closed. The whole experience felt inconsistent and dismissive. If the kitchen closes significantly earlier than the posted business hours, that should be communicated clearly. I must say, the service is awful. We were ignored a few times. I ordered a Singha beer from a server who never brought it. I asked another server and he told me that they are BYOB. Apparently, our server had limited english skills. We ordered a Thai Ice Tea with little ice. We were charged extra!! How rude. Yet, the food was absolutely delicious. I had the braised beef Massaman curry and it was one of the best Thai dishes I've ever had. The Tom Kha is perfection. Honestly, I had an epic meal at La Kang. I really enjoy this food. The preparation is self fresh and the quality is amazing. I would eat at this restaurant every day if I could.... I highly recommend the La Kang appetizer, it is easily enough for three people, the beef Massaman Curry was so delicious, as well as their rice and everything else we ordered. We did the Thai Hot Pot upstairs, and everything was amazing. Every broth we had at the table was incredibly flavored and each one was unique. The selection of what you can have with it was great as well from the proteins to the veggies, very fresh and exactly what you want or need. It was a cute little restaurant that we almost missed. When we got in we waited a bit before we were seated. We ordered the skirt steak salad mild and the Pad Thai. The skirt steak was very good and even though I ordered it mild there was a bit of heat still. The Pad Thai was beautifully presented with all the ingredients separated. You have to mix it together. The egg was in one thin crepe-like piece so you have to shred it yourself. The sauce was good, there were huge chunks of chicken. We found this place online visiting Bethlehem. It was amazing. Cute and cozy atmosphere. Food always A-MAZ-ing. Even the service was great and the prices were very reasonable. The peanut sauce was so good it should be illegal. We got the steak Pad Thai. It was good, though not as flavorful as the other dishes. The other dish we ordered was the lemongrass chicken, which the server recommended at my request being tin between that and a few other dishes. It was incredible. Been wanting to come to this place for a while and I have to say that the quality of food is on par with the aesthetics! I got the lunch special! Ordered Somtum Kai Tod with rice which was an incredible value and couldn't believe I got all of it for $15. This dish consisted of papaya salad and a crispy chicken- along with soup, salad, and I chose spring rolls for the starter. Everything was so delicious. The chicken was incredibly crispy and juicy and paired nicely with the sauces. The papaya salad was a genomes portion. The spring rolls were very fresh and crispy. With the Thai Tea, my total came out to $20 which was great for the quality and amount of food I got. Would definitely come again for dinner. The service was awesome and my server was very attentive. This place is always spot on every time. The space is welcoming and quaint. Make a reservation to ensure seating if you have a larger group or coming for dinner. The menu is similar to their sister property in Palmer Township but has the noddle bar additions! Always start with the Brussels sprouts which are amazing! The satay of tofu or chicken is also a great starter. Of course everything is good here but my absolute favorite is the pad see aew and I add tofu. I am not a fan of spicy dishes but if you are there are several to choose from. The service is always fast and attentive especially keeping your water glass full. Today was the first time I went for lunch and OMGeeee! What an amazing lunch special for $14!! It included just the right portions of all my favorites including the salad and a cup of soup. La Kang Thai is such a wonderful Thai restaurant! I'm so happy I stumbled upon here! The food is excellent. The service is excellent. The interior is very nice as well! I started the dinner with Thai ice tea (a classic) and the Kang Kang shrimp! I saw many good reviews for the shrimp so I had to get it. The shrimp was creamy with the spicy Mayo that it was coated with. It was fried very well too! The shrimp was nice an chewy but the breading was crunchy. It was really good fried shrimp! Pad See Ew is my go to Thai noodles, so I had to compare. Their noodles are bouncy and fun to chew! The sauce was sweeter compared to other pad see ews that I've had. I prefer a more savory version, but theirs was good! Maybe next time I should have ordered a medium spice so it wasn't that sweet. The Massaman was out of this world! The sauce was so creamy with the peanuts and coconut milk! I liked how they added roasted peanuts and pineapple to the dish! I ordered this curry hot, so the pineapples added a nice sweetness to the heat. They also added pearl onions to the curry to help sweeten it as well! I really like their take on Massaman curry! Ordering it hot was ambitious of me, so the staff did a great job of constantly refilling our waters. I really enjoyed my time here! The restaurant was lively! We heard about this place locally and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, online it states they are open till 9. We arrived a little after 8 due to attending a local event. We were immediately met by staff stating they would have to check with the kitchen. They came back and said that they couldn't seat us.... We walked out. This is one of my favorite local places. I've ordered takeout before and have had great experiences every time. This was my first time dining in. I'm vegetarian, but my husband isn't. They have vegetarian and vegan items on the menu. We shared the roasted brussel sprouts, which were incredible. I've loved their drunken noodles, pad Thai, and basil fried rice. I went with their green curry, and it did not disappoint. My husband loved the two appetizers he ordered as well. The staff was very friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly. The place is small with bar seating at the noodle station. We've been here a bunch of times in the short time they've opened and have tried alot of the menu. In no particular order: The spring rolls are good. Crispy and hot with a nice sweet and sour sauce. The pork kebabs are delicious. The green papaya salad is good. The green thai salad is delicious (best salad here) The curries are tasty and flavorful. The pad thai is good (more on the sweet side. More on this later) The pad kee maw (drunken noodles) are really good. The crab fried rice is ok. The noodle soups are delicious, we've had them all. Ok, now for detail. The staff here are super friendly and accommodating. The legendary hospitality of the Thai are exemplified here. No matter how busy, the staff here are always pleasant. The 2nd day they opened it was so crowded hectic. Even with some irate unreasonable customers, they were very pleasant. With regards to food, I will preface this by saying that Touch of Thai in Easton (now closed) was our favorite Thai restaurant for years. We miss that place and have never found a Thai restaurant with better food than there. On that same 2nd day that they were open, we had the pleasure of seeing the chef from Touch of Thai in front of us in line. I was reassured that if he was coming here, it had to be good. The food at La Kang is good. The only suggestion we have is there be a little less sweetness in the stir fried noodles and salads and more tamarind. (Two thumbs up) If you'd like to know the details, below is my full review: My friend and I were craving Thai food, and since we were in Hellertown, we decided to check this place out. We arrived right after they opened at 4 pm, and we were seated right away by the hostess. The service was very good during our meal as well! The restaurant was cozy and modern, and it had a relaxed vibe. We ordered the Roasted Brussel Sprouts and the Triple Mushroom Spring Rolls for appetizers. The spring rolls were good. There weren't many mushrooms in the filling for a triple mushroom spring roll. I think I saw one piece per roll. But, hey. They were still tasty and pared well with the light plum sauce that they were served in. The Roasted Brussel Sprouts were so good! They were cooked perfectly with a slight crunch to the outside and a tender center. The sauce was the perfect balance of sweetness and warm spice. I highly recommend trying them! For our main dishes, we ordered the Vegetable Green Curry (medium spice) and the Chicken Pad Thai. Pad Thai is one of my favorite dishes, so I was excited to try their version. However, I'll begin with the Green Curry my friend ordered. Firstly, the plating was lovely. It looked like they took time with plating and put a fresh sprig of basil as a garnish. The plate was filled with a variety of veggies swimming in a creamy curry coconut sauce. Out of the eggplant, mushrooms, sweet peppers, green beans, and broccoli, I especially loved the bamboo shoots! They were crunchy and a bit sour, which complimented the smooth and spicy sauce. The curry also came with a bowl of white rice on the side. Now, what I was most excited about: The Pad Thai. When the dish was brought to our table, it looked amazing! Again, the presentation: 5 stars! The dish had bean sprouts, fresh green onion, and crushed peanuts on top with a ring of thinly fried egg surrounding the noodles and chicken. There was also a lemon wedge on top. Lime would have paired better with the dish, but still, I was eager to dig in. The chicken was good. The noodles paired with the cooked green onions were very good. The sauce was a bit sweet with a lovely tamarind flavor. It was a good Pad Thai overall and definitely well crafted. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at La Kang Thai Noodles Bar, and I will definitely be back to try some of their signature dishes and some dishes from their Noodle Bar. read more

I went to La Kang last night for the first time and it was INCREDIBLE! We started off with the Brussels sprouts (a MUST) and I got a chicken pad Thai.
