Living OTP, it's always a challenge finding good ethnic food. Usually, we have to go to the city but not for Pho. When I worked in the city, Dai Loi on Buford Hwy was my go to. Now that I wfh everyday, at least I have the option of this south side location. The service could be better but the food never fails. My favorites are the shrimp rolls, spring rolls and of course the Pho. I've been to other locations but so happy to find this location since the hotel I'd stay near the ATL airport. What I loved about my meal was that the broth was incredibly flavorful and rich. Most Pho that I've had has been good, but the broth seems to lack a lot of flavors. The service was very good as well. Need something comforting? How about something to ease sinus congestion? Well, go grab some pho at Pho Dai Lo- it's the best pho on the southside. IYKYK. My hubs and I got the shrimp rolls, pho, and lemongrass pork. All were delicious. The shrimp rolls are kind of like egg rolls, but not they're filled with super large shrimp. Don't go! The place stunk very bad. It didn't help that a cart with dirty plates, old wet rags, and compiled leftover food was constantly being pushed around the tables as customers were eating. Service was good. The waitress was attentive to our needs. The food was sub-par. We were in Atlanta to visit friends and decided to check out this place due to its proximity to the airport. Disappointing. We were near the airport, and frequent the (former?) sister restaurants of the same name. Manager said they are no longer owned by same people (related?). But exact same menu (restaurant #2 on Buford highway is widely considered one of the best in the city) The noodles in each of our 4 bowls were one big lump. Not good, should have returned immediately, but we were hungry. Were they overcooked, or what? Pouring the broth on them obviously didnt help, but no way kitchen didnt know. Next flavor. Was not the good beef flavor I like or am used to. Weak. I even get the #12 with marbled brisket to strengthen the flavor, but not this time. Two of the marbled meat were all dried out and inedible, so another part of the problem. Restaurant was very clean and inviting so gave 2 star instead of 1. But wont ever return to this location. This is the best Pho soup in town. Everyone likes the other meals as much as I like the Pho. The only thing I don't care for is that if two people get Pho, I only end out one plate of veggies/basil, etc. We always get a Large Pho so I think we should have separate plates. I think this place turned me into a bonafide pho aficionado. I say this because I've tried a dozen different Pho places over the years and after trying Pho Dai Loi I immediately noticed two things: 1) The broth is exceptionally flavored. Not doctored with a lot of spices but you can tell the broth took hours or even a couple days to develop. 2) The noodles are extremely fresh. I'm not even a big noodle person when it comes to pho. But wow their noodles are slightly thicker and have a nice chew to them. I also liked how they didn't skimp on the garnishes and that the basil was fresh and not slightly wilted like other pho places. We always visit original pho dai loi whenever we have chance, when we go near airport. I only eat beef pho from pho dai loi. I order shrimp from other pho places most of the time. Their soft tendon is thickest out of all pho places. I know they cook noodles ahead of time which is fine. I dont think i have had freshly boiled noodles from most of pho place.. The recent visit pho noodle was way too overcooked!!!! Way too much. Would I still go back? Yes! Their soup is really good. It was never overcooked this much except this once. This place is always packed - typically a positive sign of great things awaiting inside. The food does not disappoint! We've had everything you can possibly think of on the menu with the exception of the shakes. We're usually you full to order them and they look very filling. I'm a beef phó fanatic and I like mine with all manner of stuff in it, including the tripe. American are scared of tripe because they're usually too chicken to branch out - GIVE IT A TRY! Tripe has no real flavor of its own but adds a lot of texture and it's fun :) and When we start feeling sick the local phó place is where we head - all the best stuff in the world to make you feel better lies within that flavourful bowl of happiness! Populace of Jonesboro if you are not aware or have passed by this unassuming location. This is the pho temple! The house of noodle that stand high above the rest with broth that taste like the heavens. What Chick-fil-a has done to the chickie sandwich, this place has done to noodle! The broth is always good. Not amazing, but very good, not too sweet. I would like it to be more intense, but it's definitely not thin. Their "soft" tendon used to be just tough gristle, but I think they improved it recently. I had the pho which was delicious as always. The wife tried the beef stew this time. Came with a roll of French bread, which was excellent. The stew is really good too, great rich broth and lots of beef. Maybe more than She should have eaten at one meal, lol. This place came highly recommended, so my wife and I obliged. We arrived to find the parking lot full. We parked and entered the restaurant. It was full. We waited at the door as the sign said for about 5 minutes. We were then noticed and was directed to place our to-go order. We placed our order and we're asked to wait in the lobby. We received our food about 10 to 15 minutes later. We went home and tried our vittles. I and my wife were disappointed. Not at all what we were expecting. The beef stew pho and shrimp rolls were so yummy. My friend got shrimp pho with chicken broth that they didn't enjoy as much because of the broth being bland. Most people go to Vietnamese restaurants for the beef or bone broth, and that was great. The taro boba was delicious as well. We ordered takeout and it was ready right on time.
