This place is delicious and well priced for the massive servings that you receive of the food. I usually get the beef pho and everything is delicious. The service is always quick and friendly and inside has a nice older Vietnamese look. I will definitely be back soon.

I have been here 3 times and I highly recommend this restaurant. The service is very quick and welcoming. They have great portions and a cute space where you are able to pay at the counter. The Pho, Duck egg noodle, and Bun are good options! This is also a great spot to place a pickup order from. It only took 10-15 minutes.

I came here for an early dinner prior to the Super Bowl as I spent the afternoon checking out the surrounding area around Chesapeake. When I arrived there were zero customers at the restaurant which made me a little worried. I decided to order the beef pho and decided to get some deep fried spring rolls (egg rolls). I also requested water and the owner gave me a funny look as it was not normal to just get water. After I ordered, I used the restroom and it was clean but the water from the sink was freezing and there was only a weak air blower to dry my hands. Back at the table, the egg rolls and water was left there. I waited till everything came out to start eating. The beef pho came out a little later and the tiniest plate of bean sprouts, jalapenos, lime, and 1 sprig of basil was left. I asked for another plate and received another strange look from the owner, but she brought it out. The beef pho and egg rolls were delicious and the spiciness of my pho cleared my sinuses perfectly. Food was spot on but I finished my water and the owner walked past me multiple times but didn't offer or bring any refills of water. So do not expect much service from the restaurant. When I went to register to pay, the owner was really surprised I tipped 25% which she said thank you. I think other people would have definitely tipped much less for the amount of service received or not received. I think the restaurant is more gauged for take out instead of dine in based on my observations. Even though the food was good, I think I would rather eat somewhere with better service like Pho 79.

I ordered from Pho Dalat through DoorDash and was very disappointed. Both of my Duck Egg Noodle dishes had dead flies on the lettuce, and the basil leaves in the spring rolls showed clear signs of downy mildew (grayish mold spots). This was completely unacceptable and unsafe to eat. I had to throw the food away. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves their food handling and ingredient inspection. Customers deserve safe, clean meals.

    Egg rolls were good.

I gave this place a 2 star instead of a 1 star, because the food was good and definitely hit the spot, but the service was not good. Things were going ok (definitely not great, but not terrible) till I was ready to leave. I kept waiting for the check. Finally realized there was a sign that said, pay at the counter. They had lots of signs up, one said gratuity was charged for parties over 4 automatically (which I think is interesting since I have to pay at the counter). Another that said there was a cash discount of $1 to $10 depending how much your bill was. There was no sign (that I saw) that said there is a charge for containers, I feel like that should have been mentioned when I asked for 3. The bowls were HUGE, not many people could have consumed as much as they provided in one sitting. Was the expectation that I bring my on container? I mean I wouldn't mind doing that. Anyway, when I went up to the counter to pay, I let them know I would pay in cash. He said it would be $64 even (side eye cause that's not generally what happens when sales tax is involved). I gave him cash, but felt that the math wasn't mathing. So I went back up to ask for an itemized receipt and did the math on my own. When I went back up that's when I was told it was $1.50 per to-go container (was told they - the restaurant - have to pay for the containers, well yeah, that's the cost of doing business as a restaurant, but ok). However, the math still wasn't adding up even with the extra cost. We did the math together and they overcharged me by $2 plus didn't give me the cash discount of $3. So he needed to give me back $5. I guess we mutually agreed we were going round. So, bottom line, if you go to this place, just make sure you check their math and bring your own containers?

if you're thinking that's my hair, look closely you'll see that the hair goes all the way to the end of the roll.

I ordered the meatball soup and it was amazing! The broth was nice and light, and fresh. The service was also great, they are so nice.

I've been to Pho Dalat a few times now and it has become one of two of my go-to places for pho in Chesapeake. They keep the restaurant tidy and the the food comes our fairly fast. - Parking - Center lot. - TLC - Depending on who you get, the interaction is pretty short and direct. However, the service is always fast and efficient the times I have been. - Noms + Sips - Vietnamese Iced Coffee - great! I always ask for extra condensed milk Spring rolls - overall, always made to order and very fresh, but I am not a fan of the raw beans sprouts that they include in their rolls. Most other pho places around the area do not have beans sprouts and I prefer them without. Beef pho - the broth is great and overall a really tasty pho. I just wish there were different size options. The soups are all generally one size at one price. Udon - my kids have had their udon and it was pretty good. A few things to note: - They have a picture menu so it's great for newbies and veterans alike. We eat with our eyes, don't we? - The menu features just basic Vietnamese pho and dishes. Not too many options once you "graduate" the newbie phase and want to try something new. - If you pay by card, they now have a new policy (and maybe new to me because I have never noticed this before), but they will charge YOU the transaction fee. Luckily, I had an emergency $20 stash in my wallet, so I used that to pay my take out order recently. A pet peeve of mine is paying service fees! So moral of the story, take out some cash before heading out to Pho Dalat. Overall, a great place for some pho if you are limited on time, just take out some cash! Stay safe, Friends!

My husband enjoyed the Meatball Pho - the broth was flavorful, the meatballs were tender, and the noodles were plentiful! I also enjoyed my Pork Platter - everything was fresh and the pork was flavorful and tender. It a nice casual place with plenty of inside seating. Our food came out quickly and hot. The staff were working well together and were all helpful and friendly. Check them out!

    Doug S.

First time having Pho. Chose here due to the high reviews. The store setup is very vibrant and fun! We were greeted immediately upon stepping in the restaurant and had food in front of us in less then 5 minutes. I thought the broth was really good, especially with the added basil, lime, bean sprouts, and a few squirts of sriracha. The chicken was a little over cooked, but overall tasted homemade. My daughter had the Beef Pho and said it was good. Overall good experience for a first timer!

Even though plenty has changed since COVID-19 arrived in 2019-2020, it's safe to say not much has changed at Chesapeake's Pho Dalat. That's both good & bad - for me, I'm simply not happy with their service. But their food is good. PD is the perfect example in determining (if you had to choose) what's more important to you as a diner - good food or good service? I guess, for me, the answer is good food. I used to frequent PD often as it's close to my office. But now I'm permanently a remote employee, so I don't get out to Chesapeake much as a result. I finally decided, though, to check them out again, because it's been almost 3 years since my last visit. I was curious as to how my return experience would be - I came in on 10/1/22 and was surprised to find a female working the FOH. She was all about the hustle - frank (but polite), anticipating customer needs, moved with a sense of urgency. This was a different Pho Dalat just because of her. If you're a PD regular, you know what (or whom) I'm referring to. That evening, I made it a point to order #11, the Duck Egg Noodle (Mi Vit Quay). It was as good as I remembered - so delicious and filling. It went great with their spring rolls (#2) and the soda I ordered. And wouldn't you know it - my server actually asked me if I would like a refill. I was in shock and happily answered, "Yes. Yes, I would love a refill of your soda, ma'am." I was giddy and elated. Right then and there, I decided I would return as often as possible. Fast forward almost 2 months - I headed out to PD again, this time with high expectations. I walk in on 11/29/22 and - boom, their regular FOH guy was working. He's an older gentleman who, and I'll say this as nicely as possible, is a glacial server. In addition, he doesn't seem to give af. That's a lethal combination for customers, especially if a customer seeks a "quick" bite. Slow Pai Mei was already in the weeds - there was a 4-top and an 8-top finishing up their meals. When I came in and said I was alone, he just gestured at a small table and dropped the menu on it as I sat down. That proved to be the ONLY interaction I had with him during my visit. Well, I interacted with him once more before I left because I had to pay my tab, but two BOH people took my order, brought me my food, refilled my drink and prebussed my table. Mr. FOH walked around, took payments for the other 2 parties and then continued to take his sweet time cleaning those parties' empty tables after they left. Not once did he come over to my table - he didn't serve me, didn't look in my direction, nothing. He didn't acknowledge me at any point, even when he walked directly in front of me, which was often because my table was 3 feet from the register. The 2 kitchen staffers were in on all of this - they apologized to me every time they stopped by my table and would shake their heads and roll their eyes while shooting their coworker mean glances (albeit, they did this while he wasn't looking). They were obviously fed up because they're picking up his slack and essentially working dual roles. Btw, during that visit, I had the spring rolls again and the #10, Hue Noodle (Bun Bo Hue). The #10 is spicy - I ordered it because it was cold outside and I wanted to warm up. Bun Bo Hue definitely does the trick. So yeah, Pho Dalat offers excellent food, but you run the high risk of getting crummy service, too. My previous review in 2018 came with four stars. This one would actually be a two, but I awarded an extra star because of their food quality. Regardless, I won't be hitting them up as often as I'd like because I can get good food and service from Los Burritos nearby. Thanks, though, Pho Dalat. JV

I don't think many people know about this place. It still has that family owned feel. The menu book is still the same with a photo for each entree and the price. Prices are still reasonable compared to some of the other Vietnamese pho stores. I appreciate they haven't drastically increased their prices like so many restaurants have in the recent year. They will give you a small discount if you pay in cash. So I look at it as a win-win situation. It is nice to use real cash sometimes in this digital day and age.

I'm going to be dreaming about that broth for the rest of my life. I came on a rainy day at 53 degree weather after a one hour hike at the nearby Ed R County Park. I've always had the basic meat pho with rice noodles so imagine my surprise when one of their most popular bowls was a seafood based pho with egg noodles!! It was so good! There were huge prawns and chicken and this fish cake thing and this pork/crabmeat ball thing idk it was delicious. Service was fast and friendly and though I came at lunch time there was plenty of seating. Definitely come in for a good time.

The drink itself was really good. It wasn't too sweet and is actually good for you. Sophia drunk some and said the next time we come by, she'll order it. Great stuff indeed. It was also super sweet. My boyfriend tried it and said the same thing. For food, we split two sandwiches: he got the marinated pork and I got the roasted pork. The roasted pork was honestly disappointing--almost all fat. I get that pork has some fat, but this was excessive. Most pieces were barely meat, and the texture was just not good. I ended up picking around it just to eat something. The marinated pork was actually pretty solid. But since the other sandwich was such a miss, we basically ended up eating a marinated pork and what felt like a veggie sandwich.
