I always stop by to get me something to eat before I get my hair redone, food is always hot, perfect, and good

On my way home from work, I stopped at Peking on Cedar Road and placed a to-go order. small Shrimp Fried Rice large General Tso Chicken large Beef Chow Mein While eating my meal (small Shrimp Fried Rice), I discovered a used cigarette filter in the food. Absolutely unacceptable! I have photographs of the filter, the food, and my receipt. The filter was found in the meal, and I am not interested in speculation about whether this could have happened--it did happen, and I have evidence documenting it. What has been equally concerning is the response I received when I reported the incident. Rather than acknowledging my concern, I was told that it "could not have happened." I was told that the business has operated for 15 years and that something like this does not happen. While I appreciate the reputation the establishment has built over the years, I found that response disappointing and dismissive. A history of good service does not change the fact that I found a used cigarette filter in my food. I have actually been a customer of the business for years, which is one reason this experience is so upsetting. I expected my concern to be taken seriously and investigated rather than immediately dismissed based on the assumption that it could not have occurred. My goal is not to argue about whether the incident occurred--it did. As a customer (now former), I believed my concerns deserved a thoughtful and professional response. read more

The quality of the food has gone down. The lo mein noodles I believe are regular spaghetti noodles and the lack of meat in the house lo mein. Beef and Broccoli lack meat as well. I think they may have hired some new cooks to cause this downfall. The place looks the same as in 2020 no improvements. I found another place that is good like they were but it all the way in Virginia Beach . Worth the drive. read more

I ordered the Beef Fried Rice and got "onion" fried rice with a sprinkle of beef. It's like they chopped up an entire onion for a small order of beef fried rice. Disappointing to say the least. read more

Absolutely the worst Chinese take- out ever! Ordered shrimp egg fu young and it was floating in grease and truly uneatable! I threw it in the trash where it belonged or maybe where it came from In the first place! Horrible and will never order from there again! Stay away! read more

I ordered kung pao chicken and received a huge bowl of bland fried rice topped with deep fried flavorless pieces of breading. Kung pao chicken isn't even supposed to be deep fried. I also paid extra for chicken in my rice and didn't receive that. read more

Ordered delivery for dinner for the first time here. Everything was still pretty hot when it arrived. The veggie fried rice had lots of veggies in it which I loved. Chicken lo mein was really good my son really liked it, not as greasy as other lo menus I've tried. The General tso chicken was delicious. It has a little kick to it but not too much. I could of gotten extra spicy. The chicken to breading ratio was perfect, some places have more breading than chicken. Will definitely be ordering from them when I crave some good Chinese food. read more

Went to enjoy a nice quiet sit-down dinner and was told they didn't have table service. Whoever heard of a chinese restaurant that has a seating side and you can't get table service. SUCKS! It is just laziness and poor customer service. They may as well close their doors. Very bad way to serve the public, which pays for your attention to the public. read more

When I went there the food was very good and I enjoyed it, but unfortunately I have gotten reports from friends that the food is hit or miss depending on the day. On my recent visit the girl at the counter told me that since and after COVID they been having problems keeping good help. There is plenty of seating area and the place looks decent. I was a bit disappointed. The food was good, but not the greatest. I ordered quite a large order for New Years Eve, for pickup. I didn't check the bag until I got home. 1) I ordered 4 spring rolls, and instead I got 2 spring rolls and 1 large egg roll. I'm not sure if the egg roll was to replace the spring roll. The eggroll was delicious, actually better than the spring roll, but it's not what I ordered 2) the sweet and sour sauce was place in one small container, and half a larger container. I'm not sure what happened, buts a) didn't need that much sauce and b) why was is in two separate containers 3) over abundant amount of fried rice. My General Tso order was half a container, and the other half was rice. I ordered an entire container of GT, not half filled with the vegetable fried rice I ordered separately 4) no chopsticks or sauces provided. Usually they either a) throw them in or b) ask if we want them or not. 5) the fried wontons were so hard ridden they were not edible. I couldn't bite into them, they were so I credibly dry and overdone. I wanted to like this place. It was highly recommended. I'm positive I've eaten here before, and it was delicious. It's sad what the pandemic has done to small businesses, but I feel it's important to be honest . I had an expectation for our first New Years Eve back in the US, and my son's first ever new years in America, and this was a bit . The rest of our meal was good! This used to be my go to place for Chinese takeout. Since the pandemic, it has not been the same. It's borderline gross to me. I'm an overweight woman who loves some food now. It takes alot for me to not eat something especially Chinese. The Chicken and Broccoli has been tough and chewy with barely any sauce past 3 visits. Egg Roll today had strong vinegar taste. Crab Rangoon very hard could not even bite it. Shrimp Lomein no taste Shrimp tasted spoiled. The white rice was all I ate. That was good though. read more

Be aware that they have changed their prices but apparently have not updated their webpage? I called to order some lunch specials, they didn't tell me the total on the phone, didn't mention the price change. When I go to pick it up apparently lunch costs 3.00 more and is like 8.90?! Kind of a shock when I thought the price on their website (5 something) would be accurate. It was our first time here and I was really put off by this and don't think we'll be back because the food that we ordered wasn't great either. Been here 3 times and each time the General Tso Chicken is great! Nice and crispy and had heat (something a lot of places never get right)! Only complaint was I ordered a large General Tso's for son and I, but they only give us a little tub of rice. Friday after Thanksgiving, they were slammed. Given the limited choices in the Great Bridge area, it's about as good as it gets on this side of the Bridge. Was recently renovated to add a take out side. I felt this addition has taken away from the classiness of the dine-in side. The food is typical and nothing outstanding. My husband and I come here for something quick but if we really want good Chinese, will likely drive over to VB. Having said all this, service is friendlier than average and the food has adequate flavors. read more

I'm surprised with all the wonderful reviews on here. Maybe I have higher standards than others...or have had really good Chinese food to compare this place to. I was extremely disappointed with the soggy orange chicken that we ended up throwing away. The low mein was dry but the only thing that we ate the most of (but threw the rest out). I also ordered fried rice. Instead I received pork fried rice. I will never return.
