Decided to give Pho Galaxy Restaurant a try. It's in the Victorian Plaza next to a BBQ Chicken branch. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (12:30pm). Staff are all Vietnamese. Prices are throwback to the good ol days; $12.40 to $14.55 for their pho/soup options. - Herbs - a generous pile of bean sprouts. - Bun rieu (#36) ($14.55) - interesting that the crab paste was combined with egg. Viet ham slices were great. Broth was okay. - Galaxy special 2 (#2) ($16.65) - salad roll and pho dac biet. Salad roll was good sized. Broth was light and lacked depth. Noodles were too soft. Before they moved, this was a decent small spot and the pho was always palatable. Since the move, though, the experience has gone downhill. This was my second visit to the new location. The first time, we were with a large group -- everyone was seated except two of us, and despite an empty table right next to our party, they refused to seat us together. I decided to give it another try tonight. It wasn't even busy -- maybe four other parties came in after us. Our appetizers arrived quickly, but our pho never came out, even though every group that arrived after us was served their soup. At that point, it was clear the service issues weren't a one‑off. Came here on a Sunday evening just after 5pm and it was almost full. Reasonable portions, side of greens, limes and sprouts extremely fresh. Went here a couple times and it was ok the first time as the soup was good but the on second visit the combination plate we got was not great at all. I don't think I've ever gave a pho restaurant a 5/5 as quickly as I did with Galaxy, one must try at this glorious hole in the wall pho masterpiece is their shrimp salad/pork rolls they are glorious huge and the peanut dip is beautiful. Been here for many years whenever I'm passing this town, the family that runs the restaurant is the same throughout the years, it's always good to be back to se familiar faces. This time I ordered the Crab and Shrimp Paste Rice Vermicelli, very rich tomato soup base and also had a very pleasant shrimp flavour! This is the best version around! If you don't want to have the usual Beef Pho give this a try! The other dish we ordered was the House Special, and we made it a combo, with a Salad Roll. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and everything about it was delicious and huge portion (I couldn't finish, got very full halfway through). Great price for the amount of meats and portion. When I ordered, the friendly man kept asking "rice noodle?" While I just needed to make sure "no cilantro." So I ended up getting rice noodles which bummed me out. Next time I will have to pay closer attention and hopefully get the correct noodles for this dish. Pho Galaxy has some great flavours! They have some vegetarian options like spring rolls and some main dishes. But sadly the pho is not vegetarian, as it's made with animal based stalk. It doesn't say that on the menu but when you imply you're told they're not actually vegetarian friendly. The bubble tea is also made with milk, and there is no alternative for people who are lactose intolerant. Overall some great flavours. Would recommend to people who are not vegetarian. read more

Came in half an hour before closing time with a party of 9. I've read some of the reviews that mentioned the service was not great. So I was surprise that they took our orders and gave our meals within minutes. Not sure if it was my charm, our business or they wanted us out quickly, but the service was great. Waitress was patient while some of us were still indecisive to order, and responsive when we asked for extra peanut sauce and bowls. Like the other reviews, the broth was superb. A colleague mentioned this restaurant and over the summer we were driving back from Kelowna and decided to make a stop in Chilliwack on route back to Vancouver. This is an interesting spot, nestled in a complex a few kilometres off the highway. The menu is very extensive and they serve many different types of asian dishes despite the name "Pho" Galaxy. We were a little surprised by this. There was a good amount of seating in the restaurant. We ordered two of the house special pho noodle bowls and both were good. The broth is slightly different from other pho restaurants we've been to and this could be why there is such a high rating here. Worth checking out if you are in the area. read more

Worst service experience I've ever had. My boyfriend and I made a special trip off the path of our B.C. road trip to come check out this restaurant. We were both very hungry and super excited to grab some Vietnamese. Ordered the salad roll and pho combo without knowing there was pork in the salad roll. In my experience, salad rolls have never come with pork and the ingredients weren't listed on the menu. It came and I realized there was pork in it. Politely told the server I don't eat pork and I didn't know there was any in it. Server walked away with the salad roll, came back with it AND the menu and proceeded to yell at me while pointing frantically at the menu trying to explain that I should have known. This went on for quite a while while we both sat there stunned. I didn't know how to respond. I didn't ask for it to be replaced with a different one or take it off the bill, but usually places would happily do so; especially something so simple. But she aggressively insisted I eat it and that I touched it already so it's staying at the table. Wow. Pho in Chilliwack? The best pho I've ever had? In Chilliwack?! Pho Galaxy is amazing. I have had a lot of pho in my time - Vancouver, Surrey, Richmond - but nothing compared to my experience here tonight. I had a small 23 and my husband had a large 30. I ate...the entire...thing. I've never polished off an entire pho. This was just too dang delicious to stop! Veggies were incredibly fresh. Broth was otherworldly. Meat was the most tender I've ever had. My husband said his (brisket) reminded him of his own smoked brisket. Simply impressive. Not to mention, service is warm and friendly - and fast! We had spring rolls also - yummy. I was craving pho for a few days and decided to stop by Pho Galaxy since I was in the area for work. It was lunch hour so the place was busy with people coming in and out to sit and pick up. Service was great, they are all super friendly and came to take my order quickly. I ordered the 34 - Bun Bo Hue. It's one of my favourite dishes, but only some places can make it right. Unfortunately, Pho Galaxy wasn't one of those places. The broth was not bad, it was heavier and darker than what I normally like. The meat was mediocre at best - it was all dry which made it difficult to eat, ended up leaving a few pieces in my bowl. Lastly, for a premium price of $10.95 for a large bowl of Bun Bo Hue with such little noodles? It definitely wasn't worth it. I give Pho Galaxy 3 out of 5 because of the really friendly staff, they were super sweet and efficient. I was in and out of there within 30 minutes. read more

The homey atmosphere of the restaurant is so welcoming, thanks to the owner and the amazing pricing, you can make this place a real home and won't have to worry about your wallet or tastebuds. They have a perfect balance between the bang and the buck. I could spend more money on cooking dinner myself every night and it wouldn't be as good as this, I just hope they stay open because everyone else that moved into their location has shut down. Good Pho in...Chilliwack?! Yes! It exists! The BBH itself was alright. They don't have "Bun" noodles so they gave me the option of regular Pho noodles or fat Udon style noodles. I went with the regular Pho noodles. The BBH came in a massive bowl and it smelled and looked delicious. And the only real complaint I had was that there was way too much meat. Why am I complaining about too much meat? I must be crazy. But somehow I felt like they just put everything they had in the kitchen into the bowl and called it BBH. I mean...it's not like it tasted horrendous but sometimes...less is more. I'll have to say though that it's nothing compared to the variety of good Pho in Vancouver but compared to the small handful of food options in Chilliwack, Pho Galaxy is definitely something I'd recommend if you're in the area. read more

I'm from the states, DC area and I've had a lot of pho in my time. So I was really surprised at the quality of Pho at this place. Other reviewers will echo my sentiment, so here's a summary. Get the PHO, not the subs. They might be good, but the pho on average is better. My favorite is #25, which has beef brisket I believe, and tripe. Very good. And there are other options if you're afraid of tripe. ^-^ But I personally think the soups really ask for a beef. Also, the SERVICE has always been pretty good and even quick--whenever it wasn't extremely busy. The older man and the other woman who served us were both really friendly--and have been this way pretty much every time we've gone. The ATMOSPHERE, is pretty average. It's not very intimate, it's more casual. c: Oh man, I've never gone here and not been totally stuffed when I got the regular! Fantastic. I always add the spicy stuff and the oil on the side to get a soup that's nicely warm and spicy. Great for a cold, by the way. Strongly recommend. read more
