This evening my wife and I decided to order food to our home. We decided to be adventurous and try some Vietnamese food, and this restaurant did not disappoint. To kick off our experience we started with the fried pork sticky buns, and they did not last long. The crispy fried crust had a very unique texture, and contrasted wonderfully with the soft warm inside of sticky buns with BBQ pork filing. Next we dug into the Fried Combo, which included Egg Rolls, Potstickers and Crab Rangoon. The Egg Roll & Potstickers were unforgettable, but the Crab Rangoon was the real star of the show. Creamy crab filling wrapped in fried wonton paper, and some sweet chili sauce to dip in. Moving on to the entrees we shared the Beef & Shrimp Fried Noodle plate, and the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi. The fried noodles contained tender beef and succulent shrimp stir-fried with yellow noodles, Cabbage, Shredded Carrot, crisp bean sprouts, and garnished with fresh cilantro. The dish was very flavorful, with all the fresh veggies and spices tying together the noodles, shrimps and beef. Finally the banh mi. I will admit I have never tried a banh mi sandwich, but I am very glad this was my first one. All the vegetables on top provided an excellent crunch and the chicken was very tender with an amazing flavor. I also added picked jalapeño for an extra touch of heat. All in all this is a very great choice for anyone in the mood for some great Vietnamese cuisine. We will definitely be going into the restaurant next time to try something else! read more

It was a good ratio of meat, vegetables, sauce, etc and all of the flavors felt very well-balanced. I got a traditional banh mi and it hit the spot. There are not too many places that offer traditional banh mis so I was really excited to try. The banh baos/pork buns were a dry and didn't have as much filling in them as I'd hope so I wouldn't recommend but the banh mi is a MUST! Service took a bit of time but both workers were kind. My son and I were pleasantly surprised! We found them after a Google search and placed a pickup order online. What we didn't know was that this is a food truck! We ordered vegetable rolls, vermicelli with grilled pork, and fried noodles with beef (photos). Both the quality and the presentation went well beyond our expectations. The vermicelli noodles with grilled pork was definitely my favorite among the three items we ordered. The flavor of the meat and the amount as well as the freshness of the vegetables all well exceeded my expectations. The prices weren't bad at all. Inexpensive? The food is great no complaints on the food. However the wait is disappointingly long. I waited almost 30 minutes for one drink to only be argued with about how long I was there (I have a watch and eyes) and told I'd have to wait even longer. I ended up just saying no thank you, and give me a refund. I am not going to wait in the blistering sun for almost half an hour just for one drink just to be argued against saying I wasn't waiting as long as I did. Not a very nice attitude. Again great food but maybe when taking an order for someone who only has one drink item maybe call those out first. read more

This is a great food truck(trailer). It's a bit tucked away and hard to see at first, but it's worth looking for. I tried the beef banh mi and the grilled pork rice plate. The sandwich was amazing and the flavors were perfectly combined. The bread was a perfect banh mi, thin and crispy outside crust with a pillow inside. Everything was fresh and delicious. The grilled pork rice plate was really good too, but just a bit too much five spice for my liking. The fish sauce is completely different from a Thai fish sauce, it was quite a bit sweeter and it worked well. The Vietnamese coffee was flavorful, but maybe I was expecting something different than a normal iced coffee with cream, because it really didn't stand out as different from a regular coffee stand. Banh mi's were both great but chicken was better, spring rolls were large and fresh, fried buns were new for us and we were glad we tried it. Finally, the banh mi trend is catching on in Bellingham!! I mean, it's the perfect food to put in a food truck. In Vietnam, that's how it's mostly sold. They offer the normal various meat (bbq pork, grill pork or chicken, meatball, Vietnamese ham, etc) and non meat(tofu) options with pickled carrots and daikno, jalapeños slices, cilantro, and sauce. I can only give my review on the banh mi since I didn't order a bubble tea or anything else on their menu. First, for the price, $7.49 for a banh mi is a bit hard for this Vietnamese girl to swallow, but considering the prices of a deli sandwich(aka Jimmy's even Subway), its priced accordingly. I say it's hard as I am used to getting my banh mi sandwiches for $3.50 (course that was over 4 years ago). I've heard even at my Seattle Vietnamese Deli that it has gone up to $6 now. So, for $7.49, it's price to market(aka inflation), and in some cases, below market as I saw them listed as high as $15 at another local place here. That's just too much for my favorite banh mi sandwiches. BB does not hold back on the meat portion, so you are getting a good valve for your $7.49 worth. I wish I had asked them to slice my banh mi in halves, but that's my fault for not asking. It would have made it easier to eat that way. Another personal preference is that I would prefer them to slice the cucumber thin rather than them cut into spears. It fits the bread easier and doesn't pop out when bitting into the sandwiche. You'll see what I mean when you get one and try to bite into it. Also, I preferred my break to be toasted so you get that "crunch" when eating it. I'm not sure if they did that as I did order it to go, and it felt and taste warm more than toast. Just some minor changes, but probably only someone who eats this on a regular basis or a Vietnamese person would notice. Tip: I ordered mine with no vietnamese mayo, I find it makes the bread soggy if that is added. I also ordered a Vietnamese ice coffee ($5.49), and it is what it is..taste just like it with the Starbuck price. I noticed that the pricing on the rice and noodle plates was really high for a food truck ($16, really???) --again, darn inflation. Makes me think they don't really want to sell those plates but rather just focus on the banh mi sandwiches if they are offering them at that high price. Personally, I think they should just offer Banh mi, Bubble Tea, and Vietnamese apps like spring roll and eggrolls since the ingredients in those are similar to the banh mi. I think they can get enough business with those items rather than try to offer restaurant items like rice and noodle plates. Overall service was quick and easy. I would go back when the banh mi craving hits me again. I wish them success, as its nice to see Bellingham with more Vietnamese eating options that share my Vietnamese culture. Maybe they will read this and implement my suggestions. Would love to give them a 5 stars if they did. read more

Yummy fresh food! I have eaten here twice now. The owners are supper sweet and love cooking for you! They do not have PHO as they are focusing on fewer things having such a small space. The first time I got a meatball Banh Mi. The meat balls were well seasoned and juicy the vegies were very fresh and the pickled vegies were done right. I really liked this sandwich. They know that they do not have a traditional baguette to put this on and area still looking for a supplier to get them the right bread. My second visit I got the pork vermicelli bowl. This was excellent and was very satisfying. The vegetables were super crunchy and fresh, the meat was cooked tender and had great flavor as well as the sauce having the right amount of tang. The eggroll was homemade and crunchy and I enjoyed it! The bonus was they added grilled shrimp that I did not even know I was getting they were yummy and cooked right and with a glaze that added a sweet and tanginess to them. Overall, pretty good experience. This food truck has so many options for food choices other than Banh Mi that I'll have to come back for. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. For my first visit I tried the grilled pork Banh Mi - excellent & refreshing. I also tried a strawberry/watermelon smoothie with tapioca pearls. The bubble tea was the thing I was not too impressed with. At first, the drink was delicious, but for whatever reason my tapioca pearls froze and were really hard after only a few minutes of enjoying the drink - it got to the point I couldn't even suck up the boba in the straw. My friend got a smoothie with tapioca pearls and this also happened with hers. I've had bubble tea many times and this has never happened to me before... this was the only thing I was not pleased with. Service here was amazing. Staff were extremely kind and helpful when ordering. They seemed to really enjoy their job, which is nice to see. This is a food truck, so there are not many options in terms of sitting nearby. We tried the spring/summer rolls, grilled pork rice plate, fried appetizers and a banh mi. They were all good! I really enjoy the egg in the summer roll - I think that's fun and a little different. The banh mi was also solid! The pork rice plate was also tasty, though it came with a little green salad that didn't have any sauce or dressing. The fried appetizers (gyoza, egg rolls and Rangoon) were fine. Just your typical frozen ones.
