I went with no expectations as it was a convenient stop while we charged up the car. We ordered the fresh spring rolls with chili sauce and peanut sauce sides, flank and meatball pho and a Vietnamese iced coffee . I found this " vegetable and tofu" roll the most bland I've had. No herb, sauce , crunch.... I am a fresh roll lover, so a little discerning, but this was truly flavorless. Tofu, rice noodles, leaf lettuce and rice paper. Thats it. Like eating a carrier for too little peanut sauce. The pho was filling and came with a plate of bean sprouts referred to as "the vegetables" . The Vietnamese coffee was tasty but presentation awkward. It came as Condensed milk in a cup with a pour- over atop this and the separate glass of ice. I'm no expert in this ritual but I am accustomed to having the milk cold in the ice and the brewed coffee in a spouted vessel for easy pouring into the iced milk. Here we had to mix the brewed coffee, then add it dribbling and spilling to the ice. No big deal but awkward. It tasted good. The prices were reasonable and parking a lot shared with the strip mall . Not within the restaurant's control , but in circling for a spot around one lane, I was nearly backed into by not 2 not 3 but 4 cars. I think I recall a cannabis shop being in the mall or nearby. This may explain that. The service was friendly throughout. The place was empty but the time was odd. I don't think we'd return based upon the fresh rolls alone. read more

On a rainy cold day, we were craving some hot soup noodle to warm us up. Surprisingly, the other pho places I had bookmarked are closed on Sundays so we kept looking and came across Saigon Cafe. Staff were friendly and attentive and the menu was new and clean. I ordered #31, thought the broth was a bit bland but perhaps I've just been spoiled by Vancouver (BC) pho spots. It was quite busy the whole time we were there and it's clear they have a dedicated following. Generous with their bean sprout quantity. A random thing to note is their washroom doesn't have a bag/jacket hook so hopefully you have a friend that can hold onto your stuff while you use the gender neutral washroom, or better yet, plan your visit before you leave your table. read more

I was just traveling through Bellingham and found this place. It looks like it's been there for 100 years but I guess they've only had it for a couple years. The service was great. The food was awesome and I eat pho as you can see by my reviews every week. The bowls and servings were large. They have their own what looks like homemade hot sauce. On our way home from Canada, we were looking for some type of soup,,the weather, which was a rainy Sunday afternoon after our long drive and long wait waiting at the border pho sounded delicious and we were starving per usual I look up places using yelp and this place popped up. I was home sick and decided to try Door Dash. I wanted some hot soup so I tried Saigon Cafe. I ordered the Vegetarian Pho, and the next thing I knew I heard a knock at my door, wow that was fast! My meal was still very hot, and they gave me extra noodles and toppings to go with it, and the toppings were on the side so they wouldn't get soggy. They also included siracha, hoisin sauce, and chili oil packets. The broth was great and the tofu was cooked perfectly. I got two meals out of it. I will definitely order from Saigon Cafe again. A friend suggested trying this place because of the positive reviews... we arrived right at noon and even though things were bustling, we were assigned a booth. As others arrived, they were asked "here or to-go?" And either assigned a table or directed towards the counter. One of our group had not arrived yet, but our server still brought us our beverages and said they would be back. When our friend arrived, our server reappeared. No one in our group was super familiar with Vietnamese food but the menu had some brief descriptions of the items. I cannot compare to other places (my second time having Pho) but I can tell you the bowl was huge! It also had a very nice flavor (and I some how demolished that entire bowl!) I had the vegetable/tofu pho and also vegetable "egg rolls". Everything tasted very fresh and healthy! The restaurant itself is clean and has some decorations and a screen with Vietnamese entertainment above the kitchen (music). Other than the food, the thing that stood out to me was our server! They were super patient with our group.. we stayed over 3 hours talking and they didn't rush us at all and refreshed our drinks and came over to clear the dirty dishes to make more room for us.. they even let us all pay separately. This review is not about the food or service. It is to applaud the thoughtful and considerate actions of the management. Let me explain.... It was Friday at 12:30pm, prime lunchtime. I had never been to Saigon Cafe, but had read the number of great reviews on Yelp. As I entered I noticed only a couple of seats open. The waiter (owner?) promptly approached and said, "sit wherever you wish." He then added, "We just got a wave of customers and your food order may take a bit longer than usual, perhaps 40 minutes." I was a bit short of time and GREATLY appreciated him telling me that. It was so much better than siting down, ordering and then being frustrated when my food took a long time to arrive. In summary, I thought it extremely considerate of him to advise me of the situation knowing I might leave. I will absolutely return and try what I expect to be a great meal. Bravo! read more

Nice family run establishment. Quick service and everything was good. The fried rice portion was ample and goes well with their chilly oil. The bahn mi bread was crunchy and filling was spot on.
