Pretty darn decent day pho, and it looks like they just opened. Cash and debit only BTW. We stumbled on this place walking around that area, and was super happy to see it, the St Paddy/Bday hangovers was real and we needed some salty broth asap. I had the pho special and the cold rolls, which were made to order. Loved how they also had chili oil on the tables, such a pain asking for it some times. Everything came out fresh and hot. Absolutely delicious! Well done and good luck with the new restaurant.

Lang van pho take out
Emma E.

This is only a review for take out. I came here twice to get take out and was pleasantly surprised at how great everything tasted. I'm generally not a fan of getting pho take out, but there's something about this place that does it right. The first time I came I ordered the Lang van pho and it was delicious! The noodles weren't over cooked and he broth was flavourful and clean. I even ate the tendon which I'm not a fan of, but it was perfectly cooked and buttery and didn't have chunks of fat stuck to it. I also ordered the shrimp fresh rolls and it was so good with the peanut sauce that they give you. I also tried some of my brothers Lang van dry noodle and it was sooo yummy! The second time around I shared the grilled pork and grilled chicken on rice, shrimp fresh rolls and shrimp spring rolls with my husband. The fresh rolls were just as delicious as the first time, but the spring rolls were disappointing. They were really skinny and it seemed they had been cooked earlier in the day and sitting out. The chicken in the rice dish was delicious. It was juicy and flavourful, but sadly I would say the opposite of the pork. The pork was dried out and didn't taste that great. My brother ordered the Lang van egg noodles with soup and I tried his broth. It was delicious! It was slightly sweet and scented with herbs. I loved it and wanted to drink it all. I'll continue to get food from here as it's overall very delicious. I think it's just a hit or miss with some items.

Solid family friendly option in the neighbourhood; the mains come out quickly and the servings are a good size. The restaurant could be a little more generous with the seafood in the seafood dishes.

A well planned Phó place to visit in TO middle town. They played music while displaying news in the Tv's, so you won't get bored even if you go by yourself. Although the service was taking it's time because there was only one person attending the tables, the waiter was attentive, kind, and accurate. The decoration was trendy. Clean-shiny white everywhere, with different textures on the walls, green lucky plants, and an astonishing purple orchid. There was all kind of customers; purple haired cool friends, ladies evening out, couples, families, and some loners. I would go alone if the place was closer by. I saw that some people went to pick some take outs. Speaking about the phó, I enjoyed the tripe a lot because it was thin, perfectly cleaned and cooked; it gave a crunchy texture to the soup as a whole. Plus I eat everything; sometimes the weirdest is the better. The broth wasn't oily at all, it was aromatic, delicate and the perfect taste for such perfectly sliced meats... maybe they were cut with a samurai knife... The quality of the meat was evident as well. I would definitely take friends and family to eat there.

This place is very nice. The pho is rich and flavorful. The bun is nice and tasty. They have a milkshake bar. The decor is minimalist, but clean. The best thing about this place is the price. We often leave here after ordering 3 mains with a bill of under $35. It's not all that easy to find a good Vietnamese restaurant in this neighborhood, but this is my new go-to-place.

Great and modern place for traditional phò. They offer a all variants of phò and have an excellent beef stew. The fruit shakes are also very good!

The menu leans Korean fusion and nothing feels forced or overdone. I tried them during Winterlicious and it was such a good intro to what they do. Standouts for me: Braised short rib was unreal. Super tender, rich, and easily the best dish of the night K Pasta was so unique. Packed with flavour and not something you come across often Kalbi striploin burger was juicy, flavourful, and done right Cocktails were strong and easy to sip. They disappeared way too fast, which says a lot. Overall, great execution, a menu that stands out, and a space that feels sexy but still cozy. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

The tuna and salmon tasted very fresh, and the sweet-spicy Korean-style sauce made the whole dish feel bright, refreshing, and really appetizing. I also loved the potato dumplings.. crisp on the outside, but soft and pleasantly chewy inside, with a very smooth texture. The arugula salad was a great complement and added a nice fresh balance to the meal. The real standout for me, though, was the kalbi. It was incredibly tender and full of rich flavor. It almost melted in the mouth, with that satisfying buttery, savory richness that meat lovers would definitely appreciate. The cocktails were also fun and well done. I tried a few, and all of them were enjoyable. Some even had a smoky presentation, which made the experience feel a little more special. The service was another strong point. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the dinner feel smooth from start to finish. Everything came out at a comfortable pace, and the overall hospitality really added to the experience. As for the ambience, it felt stylish, intimate, and a little moody in a good way. The lighting and presentation gave the dinner a polished feel, but it was still relaxed enough to enjoy comfortably. It's the kind of place that works well for a casual date night, drinks with friends, or simply a nice evening out.

Every table was occupied when I arrived, and I was happy to chill out by the bar and look over the cocktail menu. Cool that they had a drink called Shanghai 75 since my friend was from there, bonus! The menu selections were expertly picked, of course, and gave a good sense of the theme of this Asian fusion food and how the chef thinks. Take a look at my pictures and set your sights on another 'Licious coming up for one of these fun events. Think of 'Licious as much more bold and light hearted way to enjoy some of Toronto's finest restaurants and see how well they work under pressure, which make these so popular and so much fun!

I love how the breast meat has a nice balance of meat to skin, so its not too oily and it makes the meat tender too. Peking wrap was kinda cold, so that threw me off alittle. This is the American-Japanese izakaya at its most considered: a place where the concept feels genuinely inhabited rather than merely adopted. The room is intimate and unhurried, possessed of the kind of mood lighting that flatters both the food and the conversation. The atmosphere skews decidedly hipster in the best sense -- effortlessly cool without tipping into affectation. Noise levels remain convivial rather than oppressive, making it well-suited to a romantic evening or an occasion where one actually wishes to be heard. The menu is deliberately compact, a restraint that signals focus. Signatures such as the Dyno Wings, Salmon Aburi, and Hamachi Tartare reveal a kitchen fluent in the language of Japanese flavour while unafraid to let an American sensibility -- bold, satisfying, approachable -- guide the hand. Small plates arrive with the casual ease of izakaya tradition, inviting grazing and sharing in equal measure. The bar program is a particular strength; the cocktails are handled with genuine care and merit serious attention. Service carries the warmth and easy charisma of a neighbourhood spot that has long since found its footing. The menu is set up to where you pick the entree and then what type of protein you want out of pork loin, chicken, fish, cheese, and sweet potato cheese. I settled on the sweet chili katsu. A piece of chicken arrived on a plate accompanied with rice and shredded cabbage. The chicken was breaded in a light panko like crumb and was half covered in the sweet chili sauce. I ate a couple of pieces and the crisp texture and flavor was wonderful. I had a bite of rice and when I got to the cabbage to my dismay I found a long piece of hair in it. I immediately lost my appetite and all I could think about was how great the two bites of chicken was. I gave up the plate and showed the staff what I found. They offered another plate a couple of times and after I declined a refund was issued. Katsuya. sucks for serving me one of the best pieces of breaded chicken in my life with hair in the food. I'm struggling to hold back the tears now as I write. I did get to try the parmesan fries which were ok. I also tasted the udon which is not one of their stronger dishes. This probably would have been five stars had it not been for the hair. I know this happens on the rare occasion but probably shouldn't if hair nets are worn. If you do try out this place, expect great katsuya.

Starting with the rustic look of their kimchi devilled eggs ($7 for 3). The yolks are mixed with…read moresesame oil and kimchi paste, instead of creamy mayonnaise, creating a stiffer paste to pipe back into the egg white. I could certainly taste the nutty oil that always makes my taste buds sing, but would have liked more of the gochujong as there wasn't much heat to the egg. In fact, aside from the sesame oil these tasted like any other deviled egg. Swapping the bacon bits for chopped kimchi may give it that element it's missing and make the dish vegetarian-friendly to boot. Similarly, the kimchi was lost within the ricotta, mozzarella, and parmesan mixture in the toasted kimchi ravioli ($13). Chances are any ingredient wouldn't be able to hold up against the swiggle of honey wasabi pesto piped on top of the crispy ravioli as the wasabi was so pungent and overpowering. Some reviewers rave about this dish, but I found the panko crust made it too dry and the pasta was overly chewy. It's not one I'd order again. The bulgogi sliders ($15) were good with a pile of thinly sliced sweet-soy marinated sirloin topped adorned with a perfectly cooked quail egg, which is runny so makes for a messy first bite. The sliders would be even better if there wasn't wasabi in the mayo (Té's chef certainly loves wasabi) and the buns were warm and toasted. If you really want to try the bulgogi I'd opt for one of the main dishes instead. Té's bi bim bap ($17) follows a traditional recipe where the beef is accompanied by cold sesame-marinated vegetables and a fried egg. They swap out the white rice for nuttier purple rice instead and Té's sweet chili sauce is thicker and spicier than other ones I've tried. Sadly, the bi bim bap wasn't presented in the typical hot stone bowl. That vessel is so important as it creates the crust on the bottom of the rice and the heat warms up the cold garnishes and sauce so that once everything is mixed together the flavours really melt and meld together. There's plenty of bulgogi on top of their mac and cheese ($18) and the pasta was excellent as well. I enjoyed the creamy gooey cheese sauce and the parmesan panko crisp on top adds a lovely textured crunch for those who want an extra pop of flavour. This is a really long review visit Gastroworld for the rest.

For the price I expected much better, and I'm a bit disappointed because it was like they just slapped some bulgogi on an egg and called it a day. Service was okay and the restaurant was cute, but I'm not sure I would go back.
