Our go to restaurant for beef 7 ways and their hotpot. My favourite is the Lau Thai, but my parents love their canh chua. One hotpot order is enough to feed 4-6 and you'll be stuffed + you can take the leftover stock home. The canh chua hotpot is a special request bcuz this isn't on their menu , but they do have the regular soup by the bowl. The hotpot toppings comes pre mixed for each soup base; the Lau Thai has mussel, fish, beef balls, 2 types of shrimp, squid, fried fish cake, soft tofu, cabbage, water spinach & vermicelli. Prices went up sonce they changed owners in sept 2023. Food still tastes the same but with a 14% markup. I will admit myself will be coming back less. Service is good, the place is clean, service is A+. Would be good if your brought somebody along that know Vietnamese. One thing to note, on my visit today the place was EMPTYYYYY. Recently came back for dine-in with a few friends. Service from Michelle and her team was fantastic! And the food was delicious. We tried Banh Hoi for the first time and learned how to wrap them properly. The rice paper roll platter came with a generous serving of fresh herbs. The special soup noodle dishes are SO GOOD. My two colleagues and I went out for lunch a couple of Fridays ago. Our original plan was to eat at Dairy Queen. When we got to the plaza, I noticed a sign for I Love Pho. I was intrigued. So were my colleagues. We completely changed our lunch plans and hit this restaurant. It's a good sign of a decent pho place when it is packed at noon. We got the last available table. Yay! I pointed out what I normally get as far as pho goes. I like the rare beef and beef balls pho. They followed suit. It's nice that they trust me! One of them ordered the small size. The other person and I went with the medium. We looked at the table to my right. The couple had ordered the large, which looked like they could have both dunked their heads in the bowl and they would have fit. It was huge! We also got the four-piece pork and chicken spring rolls. I filled out everything and handed the little slip of paper to our server. The pho broth was fragrant and perfect. I immediately knew that I was going to enjoy my pho. The rare beef and beef balls were exactly right. The bean sprouts, mint, and lime wedge were fresh. My colleagues enjoyed their bowls of pho, too. I always feel like you are not eating pho right if you don't splatter your food on your shirt. We all did that. Or, perhaps we are just slobs and want to feel better about ourselves. Our spring rolls did not come. I flagged a server to ask about them. It's funny how I had that item at the top of the filled-out form, but they were fine getting our pho orders correct. Eventually, our spring rolls came. They were yummy. Had we got our rolls without my flagging someone, I would have given this place a full five stars. It's a decent place for pho. I Love Pho 2 is doing a pretty good job with ensuring there's distancing between patrons and minimal contact for communal items! We'd been craving pho for a while and the options near home just weren't satisfying enough. Based on their first location's rapport, we dropped into this location over the weekend. Brightly lit, simple décor that's been upgraded for distancing measures, no frills experience. The tables were kept clean and patrons sat in the booths on either side of the shop - the booth walls have been extended upwards with clear plastic barriers that served the purpose but didn't obstruct view. There were quite a few tables occupied actually, so good to see that business was still happening! Menu was on an electronic device - easy to read, swipe, and easy to clean off! No more paper menus or laminated sheets with food stuck on them. The health survey is attached to the order sheet - so no chance of missing that either! Once we'd ordered, eating utensils, napkins, and sauces were provided on a tray to minimize contact - no more communal containers with someone else's mess, or risking prior patrons having played with all the spoons! Pho bowls come in medium or large - a 75c difference only. Primarily the change is in the amount of noodles and broth you get, the toppings do scale up but not in a super noticeable way. The broth was clear and flavourful, the toppings were good, and notably the tripe was fresh and cut thinly which was very nice! Many times in the past I've suffered slimey, elastic tripe that just won't give, but this was thinly sliced and had good crunch. Love how much meat/toppings their pho and vermicelli comes with, the ratio of noodles to meat is absolutely perfect and always fresh. Finally arrived here and the place is open. Last time I tried, they closed slightly before their stated hours of operation. I tried the Pho, in its takeout form, they packaged it really well. Service - TERRIBLE. I'm not from the area, heck, not even from the country so wasn't sure if this type of service was typical. A relative who is a local recommended the restaurant so we decided to give it a try. I walked in with a large party (10+ ppl) on a Monday evening to an almost empty restaurant. Took a few minutes for us to be greeted and I told the host/server that we are still waiting for more people to come. He just rolled his eyes and walked away. We left the restaurant and came back with the rest of the party about 10 minutes later and we were seated at two tables adjacent to each other. When it came time to ordering, we wrote down all of our orders on one order form (mind you, this is the first time I've ever had to do this at a full service restaurant). The same server comes over and we told him our orders are on the form and that we just realized maybe we had to write down the second table's order on another form. Instead of saying "yes, please do that", he huffed and threw his hands up in the air and that itself confirmed that we should have written the second table's order on a separate form and we did just so. While waiting for our food, a loud argument erupted. A dine-in customer yelled at the same server for ignoring his wife's multiple requests. The server yelled right back at the customer and this was going back and forth for a good 3 minutes. I had never seen anything like this before. Not sure what eventually happened between them as our food came and got distracted by it but the unhappy customer and his family were still dining when we left the restaurant. The server must be a relative of the owner or maybe even the owner himself because I could not imagine any employee having the audacity to treat their customers like this, unless he was wanting to get fired on the spot. He just looked like he didn't want to be there and all of his customers were a nuisance to him. Food - not great but also not horrendously inedible. Broth for noodle soups were lacking in flavor. I've eaten Viet food my entire life so I know. Beef balls for pho were a weird smaller size (must be a Canadian thing) and were tough to chew. Beef slices for the pho were also on the thicker and tough side. Should have been a red flag when I saw that the restaurant also serve Chinese and Thai food. Only thing I would give them is that the portion sizes are generous, at least for the noodle soups. But then again, if the food's not great, why would you want more of it? read more

One of my favorite things to eat is the Vietnamese dish Bun, so if I see it on a menu, there's a really strong chance that's what I'm ordering. We walked into I Love Pho (or Pho 2, as the sign calls it) at around 2:00 and the place was surprisingly crowded, which we took to be a very good sign. Of course, I decided to go with an order of Bun: Bun Cha Gio, Bo Nuong ("Grilled Beef & Spring Roll with Vermicelli). It arrived a short time later and it's definitely one of the better variations of this dish I've had in a while. The generous helping of grilled beef is a cut above the norm, as it boasts a strong grilled flavor and delectable crispy edges. The remainder of the ingredients are quite good, although I will admit the dish on a whole wasn't quite as flavorful as others I've eaten. There's many Pho places in this area of the city, but noticing that they changed their name awhile ago I decided to finally try this place out over the weekend. We came in at about 6PM and yet there was already a massive line-up out the door - that's a good thing right? Anyways it took about 15 minutes for us to be seated so I'd imagine this place gets pretty busy during weekend lunch and dinner hours. Their menu is much more extensive than other Vietnamese places because they also serve Chinese and Thai food. Of course with the store name being what it was I had to try out the large Pho Dac Biet. The two other people I was with ended up getting a Beef Pho and Com Thap Cam. When the Pho came out the first thing that I noticed was how large it was. For the menu price I was expecting less content similar to other places in the area, but that was not the case. The broth had a pleasant smell before it even hit the table. Unfortunately the quality of the beef, beef balls, and chicken didn't seem up to par and I'd wager they were low quality cuts. Regardless the Pho was overall delicious and quite filling which prompted me to finish off most of the broth. I'm definitely going to come back and would recommend this place to anyone who loves Vietnamese food. Although one thing I have to knock them for was the service. Our waiter was pretty dispassionate about taking our order. He brought us the wrong order and the manager (I presume) came to our table and started yelling at him. This is not a new restaurant, just a name change. It was Pho Mi Asia for years and the quality has stayed the same. The servers are very efficient and the food is always good and delivered promptly. Prices are also good. The curried chicken is delicious. Very generous portion of bone-in chicken (usually about 4 pieces) in a bowl of coconut curry soup with potatoes. There is a choice of noodles in the soup or rice on the side. The beef stew with rice noodles is very good. It comes with lots of beef and some carrots. I order the medium and usually have to take half of it home as it's such a generous portion. The vermicelli dishes are served with thicker noodles than usual, but are always very tasty. We've been coming here for many years and have tried many of the soups and rice dishes. We've never been disappointed. My boyfriend and I normally go to Pho Brothers but they were closed. We are not mad about this decision My boyfriend is Viet so he was the judge for this place. The pho was flavourful yet light. They were very generous with the meat toppings. Only issue was that there pieces of tripe were so big so you only got two. But they were too big too eat in one bite. So I was hitting them into pieces to put in my bowl LOL. Lots of beef balls and delicious tendon. My boyfriend got the Avo shake and said it was one of the more rich and creamery shakes he had. I was so disappointed when their location on Burnhamthorpe closed down for renovations. I hadn't had Vietnamese food since then but when I recently learned that they had a second location I had to give it a try! Came in weekday during dinner time expecting a long line up like how it always was in their first location. It was actually less than half full and I thought to myself that maybe I made a bad decision thinking that they could live up my expectations. The restaurant was a little more spacious in terms of walkway room but the seating areas were pretty spacious with the booth tables. We ordered the vermicelli with pork and spring rolls as well as an appetizer of Vietnamese fresh spring rolls. Food came in no time and portion sizes were large and comparable to their home location! What I especially loved was that their meat was less cut up into smaller pieces which was more of a personal preference. Flavour-wise, the food was great! I came here after going to the gym one day and ordered their stir fry tofu with rice for $13.95. While that's a bit pricey, I have to admit they did provide a very substantial portion. In addition, it came with a small bowl of soup as well. The tofu was cooked perfectly and golden. Crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside in addition to a hefty servings of vegetables. After reading so many good reviews I'm a little taken back by my experience tonight [for my first visit]. Everything is decently priced. The food came relatively fast. I ordered #410, grilled chicken on a bed of vermicelli & a spring roll. It was very fresh and tasty. My friend ordered #300, which was supposed to essentially be just chicken, broth & egg noodles according to the menu. When it came it was very spicy, and had rice noodles instead. When he questioned why the dish was so different and requested to at least have the original egg noodles he asked for, they brought him a side bowl of vermicelli. He wasn't very pleased. The staff seem rather unhelpful and assume because you ask questions about the menu that you don't know what you're ordering. They weren't attentive whatsoever and none of the sauces/condiments at our table were stocked at all. I won't be returning. Better luck to you! read more

I'm not sure when this place opened up but apparently it's related to the original I love Pho down on Burnhamthrope/Mavis. This place is literally called I love Pho 2. We were around the area so we went to try this new place out. The layout seems similar to Pho Mi 99 in Heartland and there's a lot of seating space. Ofc trying a new pho place, I got the pho tai (my to go pho bowl). The broth is flavourful and it tasted good. Usually after I finish eating pho, depending on the place I eat at my throat would get itchy.. which to me indicates that they use a lot of msg stuff in it. I didn't get that feeling here so the soup is good here! There was a lot of rare beef pieces which had no fat and didn't curl up a lot (huge plus for me in pho). There were also a lot of garnishments on top and they used red onions. This is pretty rare for pho places, most use the regular onions. This place is one of the cheaper places for pho and the portions are pretty big. I would come back to try another dish and I gotta add the viet drip coffee! read more

Portions here are definitely huge, but the service is definitely lacking. They have all the typical Vietnamese dishes, which are all very good. My family, who is of Vietnamese origin, loves coming here first for the portions and second because of the quality. I find there is nothing that really pops for the taste though and can be a bit bland at times. The service here can definitely be improved. My family and I have been ignored several times when wanted to ask for more tea, but I guess the quantity of food makes it up. Definitely when we're in the area - this is our go-to Viet restaurant. There is a REASON this place (and its other location - currently closed for now) have been the most popular places for Viet cuisine among the Vietnamese community in Mississauga over the past few years. Aside from homemade and from the motherland herself, this place is as authentic as it's going to get for a Viet restaurant. Major reason why I love this place is that it doesn't skimp out on garnishes for noodle soups, which practically every other Viet restaurant does. They give you the appropriate and a solid amount of garnishes for their noodle soup dishes (+10 pts authenticity). Dishes I recommend trying (beyond pho!): - Bun bo Hue (Hue-style spicy beef vermicelli soup) - Bun bo la lot (Vermicelli with beef wrapped in betel leaf; really just like their bun dishes in general) - Any of their grilled meat rice dishes (tastes as good as if not even better than in Vietnam, aunt from Vietnam agreed too) - Mi dac biet (House-special egg noodle soup) - Hu tieu My Tho (My Tho-style chewy glass noodle soup; can ask for broth to be on the side) - Bun đau cha muc (Vermicelli with fried tofu, squid patties, and shrimp paste; one of the rare places that makes this Northern Viet dish) Ironically, I like this place not for its pho (I think it's meh), but for their other dishes, which they make WAY better compared to other Viet restaurants in Mississauga. Went to the original one by mavis when they first opened and it was hard to go back cause of parking and how small the restaurant was and after 3 times we just chose to go else where. Glad this location has a hugh space and parking lot. Large menu of viet specialties you dont see at a lot of basic pho places. Bun xeo or flour crepe with shrimp and pork/ rice noodles with or with out pork, duxk with bamboo noodle soup! Ive tried their veggie pho...delish and packed full of tofu and other fresh veggies. An hour after I asked they bought me some burnt pile of shit on a plate and walked away. (Didn't eat it) They forgot the pho dac biet and the tufo and the spring rolls until we reminded them also Still missing two more dishes. From the special. Got fed and went to pay. Asked them how is it possible to forget people's order when they weren't busy. the waitress laughed and said we forgot and turned around and some vile shit in Vietnamese. She then turned around and said your food is coming ill pack it up. I gave them a chance and waited. While they said "let the chubby girl wait" in Vietnamese. I lost it and replied in Vietnamese. "You pieces of shit should be careful what you say around people. Just cause I don't look like you, doesn't mean I don't speak the language." Have some respect for your customers. Not because I'm only use to my own family cooking, but because I've tried a s-load of vietnamese dishes cooked by different people from here to Vietnam. This particular place was okay. We ordered the Bo 7 mon (7 styles of beef) , spring rolls, and a rice dish with everything in it. The beef course came with a lot of food, It was well worth it -price alone! Food however, 1. rare beef slices came in a very small portion but was quite good when cooked in the spicy stock (it's quite spicy!). You roll it up with the rice paper and put whatever toppings you wish inside. The sauce it came with to dip was on the sweeter side than I'd like but still tasty! 2. Bo nuong la lot - the beef roll in leaf was soggy and oily, however had good flavours. 3. Beef congee was great, more on the runny side than thick. 4. Bo luc lac - shaken beef - was Chewy but great flavours 5. Grilled beef slices were dry and chewy 6. Bo tai chanh - the pale pieces of beef lol- had great flavour. Love that they use lime leaves and cilantro to bring out the flavours. It was a little too cooked for my liking. I usually have it rare like a beef tataki 7. Meatball had same flavour as the one rolled in la lot -leaves - without the leaves lol Spring rolls - typical spring rolls Rice dish - typical with grilled beef and the fixings Drinks : do not get bubble tea unless you like the powder stuff.
