Had lunch here yesterday! Syri was great! Fast friendly service. I had the red chicken curry, so yummy!

The interesting thing about this place is the food is delicious but the service is horrible. Makes it hard to come back but the folks in the kitchen knows what's up. Takes FOREVER to get even a drink ordered or a takeout box when you're ready to go. I don't mind waiting for the food to be cooked fresh, actually prefer it. But it's be nice if the person working the floor knew something about customer service. Bad thing is if I find a spot that had good food and service this place will be in the rear view mirror. Get your service game together, Pho Lena East, if you have any chance of making it. Seriously.

Food was pretty good. Service was pretty terrible.. will definitely be back. I hope I'm able to change it to 5 stars next time. Slow service. Wrong order. Awkward server Changed it to 1 Star this time around. Ordered food for delivery. My wife got the seafood pho and got the calamari and imitation crab replaced with shrimp.. all the shrimp was raw. We had to cook it ourselves. Pretty disappointing.

    Moldy pork bun
    Tara N.

I went for dine in and ordered a pork bun to go. When I got home I looked at the bun and it had mold on it. I called to let them know, and they asked me how I knew it was moldy?

    Dry and disappointing.

You must understand, since I don't drive, this is a decision I give great thought to before I take into action. Because once my husband shuts the door on a place and says we aren't going back, that's it. He doesn't give them an ounce of grace. Their heads are on the chopping block and they're blacklisted for life. He approved of the interior. It was casual enough to be comfortable, but had some nice touches to make you forget you're in Anchorage's most "dangerous" neighborhood. We walked in and were greeted by.... Noone. We had to walk all the way to the back of the restaurant to get someone's attention and were instructed to seat ourselves. A few minutes later the same gal , swings by slaps some menus and water on the table and says not a word and disappears. Mmmm.... OK then. The same individual returns later to take our orders for drinks, apps and entrees. A short time later she returns later with drinks. Then.... nothing. No app. Then our entrees appear. No app. Then our rice. Then finally our overcooked, inedible app. Wtf. I should have refused to pay for it. Whatever. My entree was a 3.5, my husband's was a 2. The app was -1. My husband called me a liar for hyping up this place. He was pissed. Dammit. I have to take this one off my fave list, my husband will never drive me there again. Sigh.

Guarantee you will leave fat and happy! . I got the same stuff I get at most Pho houses. Fresh / Sprint Rolls, Beef Combo Pho, and Thai Tea. Rolls were good, they came with a sweet n sour dipping sauce. The Pho was excellent! It's the first time I can remember when there was just as much meat as there were noodles! Being lunch time, I ordered the small bowl. It was packed so full of brisket and flank and tripe and meatballs and tendon that I couldn't finish it all - I was stuffed. One nice touch is they the noodle are cut in half, so if you haven't quite mastered eating noodles with chopsticks, these are easy to scoop onto the spoon. A welcome touch for most Americans. :). Oh yea ... along with beef and chicken Pho, they also have Duck Pho - if you're feeling adventurous.

Always look at newest reviews!!!…read more We saw the 4.4 red stars and thought this was gona be an amazing place. The first red flag was 1pm on week day and there was only 3 parties in the place. The one and only server was very nice, but being the only one, twice when new parties entered he would walk away. Wife ordered chicken katsu rice plate. The overall theme is everything is bland. EVERYTHING.. Her cabbage slaw/salad had a white creamy sauce, my best guess is mayo mixed with ranch but only if both was every kind of free there is, fat, sugar, carb, keto, and most importantly, taste FREE. Her rice was purple, there were purple chunks, not sure if it was potato, the rice was mushy, wet, and Bland. Her kutsu sauce was made from the same everything free ingredients. Come on man, Kutsu sauce is 3 ingredients and all three are bold flavors, how do you mess that up. But ok, they want to be fusion, maybe add some cilantro or chili. She asked for soy sauce and salt to try and add some flavor. Half way through she has me hold out my hand and pours a handful of the "salt" from the shaker. It was not salt granules, almost looked like a salt substitute. I honestly don't know what it was but when I tasted it I would be extremely generous by saying I got a 25% salt flavor. Normally, you put 2-4 tablespoons of salt in your hand and lick your finger, when you taste that, you get a powerful punch in the mouth of dam, that's salty. I was dumbfounded, if they are using that "salt" to cook with them makes since why everything is so bland. I don't want to repeat the Bland Bland Bland theme over and over. I had bulgogi, kutsu, and BBQ chicken tacos. I will skip to the end- yep, you guessed it, Bland. We did have the bulgogi egg roll, I do want to touch on this only because I was so mad at myself once we left I dug Into the reviews. These are one of the most positive commented items, BUT those comments are from over a year ago. Overall, 11$ for two small egg rolls cut in half is ridiculous. Then if you bite/taste just the egg roll, there is a 5% taste of bulgogi sauce. Which again is so explosive of a sauce. But, If you drown the egg roll in the creamy mild sriracha sauce then the egg roll is ok. If you forget what it should taste like and just concentrate on how did they make the sauce with no heat, then you could get at least a 2-2.5 star. Server deserves 5 stars, Food deserves 2 stars.

A fried ono fish burger, a seared ahi sandwich, cheesy seafood dip, and the cookies. Everything was awesome! The fish burger had lilikoi tartar sauce and the fish was super fresh tender and flaky. The ahi sando had chopped kimchi and a garlicky mayo. The dip had a touch of smoke and didn't taste fishy. The cookies were bigger than I imagined and were excellent especially with the generous sprinkling of maldon sea salt crystals. If I was forced to split hairs, I'd wished the seafood medley in the dip (shrimp, halibut, etc) were chunkier so you could identify what was in each bite. It was more whipped or creamed together. I also think the cookies would be better if they were just a little thicker, although I can see the allure of a thin crispy cookie also. The cost was pretty expensive, but the ingredients they use are fresh and high quality so you can see where the money goes. The staff were really above-and-beyond friendly. They quickly set up an extra folding table for our family when they noticed we had no where to sit. Please visit this food cart (and follow them on socials, to keep track of their weekly specials) -- let's keep them in business! But tonight, after going to a different Thai food restaurant, who are now takeout only, which is a no-go, I needed an alternate, so I randomly selected from Yelp, a good Thai food recommendation, and when this appeared, I realised it was the place where I'd gotten the good Massaman from. However, their description states they are noted for their standout Panang. The interior is ok, not fine dining, standard tables and chairs, not too cluttered with artwork, and music was playing. As I also love Panang, I chose to have that with chicken, and husband ordered something called Khao Mu Dang. We also ordered a Thai Tea. The server was energetic, and smiled a lot. We didn't have to wait long, I was served a hefty portion of rice, and a big bowl of curry sauce. Mine came out first, and I started without him. I must say that I do agree, this is standout Panang, and it's the best I've had in Anchorage. It's just the right amount of kick. Just enough to get my nose running after a few mouthfuls. The sauce is amazing, and the chicken is plentiful, and very tender, and I do have leftover sauce and rice in the fridge for later. If it were served on its own as a soup, without rice, I'd call it "Chicken Soup for the Soul" because it surely did my soul good, even eating it alone without rice. Superb, perfectly spiced, perfectly seasoned, deliciously umami. I think I could eat this several times a week, and not feel cheated. His dish had some pretty spectacularly flavoured pork, it was delicious, and the sauce, yet again, so good, but his was what they call a "dry dish" whereas mine was "soupy" or maybe they call it wet. I don't know, all I know is, that the amount of times I was saying "mmmm" was kind of embarrassing. So, that was an absolutely delightful dinner, and I'm grateful because we'd not been anywhere in recent weeks that thrilled me like this. Will definitely be back for more. The Thai Tea was also very good.
