Tried rickshaw for the first time for lunch on a Tuesday! People seem to pop in here on their lunch break and the staff and food service are fast enough to get in and out in an hour. I tried the ramen because I wanted to compare to my favorite, I was not disappointed but I fear I ordered the wrong dish. That's ok next time I will try something else. The pork wheels were crispy and very good, the broth had nice flavor, there were a few bean sprouts with spice on them, also had bok choy. I love to try small mom-and-pop restaurants when my wife and I travel. We tried The Rickshaw and were very happy with both the food and the service. We entered the restaurant on June 1, 2026 at 7:26 PM. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very welcoming, brightly lit, and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated right away (no reservations needed). They have a LOT of free parking outside, unlike the downtown Anchorage restaurants. My Pad Thai with sliced pork was made with a tasty sauce that I thoroughly enjoyed. The picture does not do the dish justice, because the food portion was piled high! My wife had the Spicy Drunken Noodles with pork. I forget to get a picture of that dish, but it was also very good. The waitresses took our order, brought our food, and came back to see if everything was to our liking. It was! We walked out full. I would definitely go back again the next time we visit Anchorage. I'm still kicking myself for not snapping photos when the food hit the table because every dish that came out was absolutely picture perfect. The presentation alone deserved its own spotlight, with vibrant colors, thoughtful plating, and that "don't touch it yet, just admire it" kind of appeal. The salmon was perfectly cooked tender, flaky, and rich sitting in a velvety panang curry sauce that balanced creamy coconut with just the right amount of heat. It's the kind of dish you immediately start planning to order again before you've even finished it. The tonkotsu miso soup was equally impressive. So apparently they use regular soy sauce and fish sauce in the Pad Thai?, therefore it is not gluten-free per the lady on the phone who asked someone in the background. So if you want GF Pad Thai, this is NOT the place to go if you are gluten-free or have a gluten intolerance. This is the first place that I've inquired about that does not have gluten-free Pad Thai, which does not make sense because you can purchase at any store, Kikkoman or Tamari brand gluten-free soy sauce! Typically Pad Thai is gluten-free, but something told me to call just in case. Wanted to eat here because of the high reviews for Pad Thai but they don't even make the smallest accommodations for Gluten free people. read more

I was visiting the city and felt like some Thai food and came across tgis restaurant, no expecting much. We jad the red curry, papaya salad and the korean bulgogi just for the heck of it. The curry and papaya salad was as good or better than other Thai places on the lower 48. What surprised us, was that the bulgogi tasted authentic! We were curious and asked the chef - a Thai native, he said that he learned to make korean food on his own. Great food and really great service! read more

The staff was amazing. Honestly, I was so impressed with how sweet the lady was that took our cash at the end. She was amazing. The server we had was also fantastic. The food was delicious. It seemed like they had a small menu, but I know that this place is really just starting out and still probably getting the feel of the space. Absolutely phenomenal Thai food! I ordered the khao soi soup, and the first bite instantly took me back to Thailand -- the spice, the fragrance, and the depth of flavor were spot on. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the execution was flawless. I asked for it hot hot, and it was the perfect level of heat -- spicy enough to make me question my life choices, which is exactly how I like it! We also tried the larb and the salmon curry, and both were outstanding. Every dish was beautifully balanced and packed with authentic Thai flavor. I came here for the Ramen, but ended up with a different Yummy lunch. Korean bbq pork & orange chicken. The pork was a bit cold....Super basic but done completely right. The service was great. You could tell staff was genuinely concerned about making sure we were happy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I don't have anything to say bad about the place except their 7-11 gas station style bathroom. I only ordered take out here. And in the last month or so, I ordered take out three times. Everything I ordered which were the ramen miso, khao soi and spicy drunken noodle with pork were delicious and flavorful. Even though it was take out, the food was well packaged. The favor is authentic Asian food. Each of what I ordered had depth and the right favoring to it. It is in a little strip mall; glad I found it. We came by here for a late lunch on a Friday. I called in advance and they said that they serve lunch until three p m. We got seated right away. They have a very reasonably priced lunch menu. I ordered this spicy pork and my husband ordered the yellow chicken curry. The spicy pork really had a kick. My husband thought that the spicy pork flavor reminded him a little bit of kimchi. Each bite was tasty when paired with 3 different dipping sauces (salty, peanut, spicy). The ramen was comparable in taste to the ramen spot downtown (well almost). Minus the ambiance and costs. The toppings were delectable especially the chashu pork slices, nice and tender, salty, and melted in my mouth. Decent prices for the quality of food served! The Khao Soi is one of the best dishes I have ever had! I love it so much that we went back another time just for the Khao Soi. The soup was very flavorful, the noodles perfect, the chicken was just falling off the bone. The accompaniments of pickled radish, onions, were so authentic and delicious! Decided to try Rickshaw tonight for the first time, checked the menu online - it wasn't huge, but there were decidedly Asian-fusion offerings, of which i found a few tempting. The reviews are great, which always draws me in. Dining room was empty when we got there, but i get hangry if i don't eat at 5 on the dot. It's an uncluttered space, very clean looking, and modern. There's a big TV on the wall, and 80's songs were playing. As I'm not a fan of loads of art on the walls, i did like the spacious open feel. A server told us to sit wherever we'd like, and immediately came with iced water, and to take a drinks order. I opted for the drink I'd seen a picture of, (Kale cucumber lemonade) and really, i only ordered it because i was intrigued, and it's a really pretty colour, i told my husband, if i don't like it, and it's too vegetably, I'm stealing some of your Thai iced tea, he said that was fine. So you can see from my pictures, it's quite a pretty, and vivid green. Let me tell you, it is THE best thing I've drank in years. Don't let the green colour, or the name fool you, it's very lemonade-forward, first and foremost, the kale and cucumber are supporting players, and add a green vegetal note. The cucumber is slightly more detectable than the kale, but they are there, lurking at the back of the perfectly sweetened lemonade. When i took my first sip, my eyes went wide, and i said "Wow, that's delicious!" I pretty much guzzled it thereafter. I ordered Curry fried rice with chicken, and he went for Pad Thai, with an appetizer of gyoza/potstickers. The gyoza came out super quickly, with the dipping sauce which had scallions floating in it. They were piping hot, and you could tell they'd been freshly cooked. Definitely not Ling-Ling. They were nice thin wrappers, well stuffed, with excellently seasoned filling that paired perfectly with the dipping sauce. I had 3, and let him have 5. Pretty much immediately we'd finished the gyoza, the entrees came out, and my Curry Fried Rice was an enormous plate (just hand me a to go box now, cos there's no way i can eat it all) It's liberally studded with peas, broccoli, chicken, and those were just the things i could visually identify. Excellent flavour, chicken was moist and perfectly seasoned. His Pad Thai appeared smaller than my Fried Rice, but was a normal sized portion of food, when combined with an appetizer. He pronounced it tasted very good, but could have done with maybe a few more noodles. I didn't taste it - i don't like Pad Thai. But i was highly enamored with my Fried Rice. Service was prompt, and with a smile, the food came out very quickly, and was delicious, as were the drinks. I would have no hesitation in returning, and recommending this as a great place to dine. read more

Best new Anchorage restaurant no one knows about! Rickshaw apparently started as a food cart in Girdwood. I'm glad it's a restaurant in Anchorage now! The food is described as "Asian Fusion". I'm really not an expert, but, in my head that means "Asian food(s) smashed together with foods from other cultures". Stuff that comes to mind: kimchi tacos, phoritos, etc. This place is not that. This is more like a sampling of entrees from various Asian cultures: Ramen (Japan), Curry (Thai), and even the occasional India-inspired dish. I had the pork chop and...I don't know what style of cooking it was, and I don't care, because it was amazing! I can't wait to return! My only criticism is the relatively limited hours. We had 7 ppl in our party and everyone was happy with their meal. My daughter and I shared the pan-seared potstickers and they were delicious, with very tasty pork. We also shared the chicken fried rice, which was perfect. 3 of us shared the mango sticky rice which was my favorite that I've ever eaten. My husband really enjoyed his pad Thai, my son loved the crying tiger. My stepdad got the Mongolian beef and he loved that! My stepdad had the Thai tea and he really liked it. We saw people walking out with to go orders the entire time and a lot of them had the Thai tea. My mom and I got the cucumber kale lemonade. She thought it was too sweet but I thought it was perfect.
